    This is a review of the Viair 88p portable tire inflator. When you spend time in the outdoors off the paved roads your odds of getting stuck go up. One of the best ways to get out of being stuck in sand, mud, snow etc is to air down your tires to about 15 or 20 psi. This creates a bigger tire contact patch and will usually get you out. This Viair tire compressor will let you air your tires back up fast and easy after you get unstuck.

Doesn't hurt to earn some Amazon $'s to go toward some offroad adventures! Do you know of any similar Viair units that use 110-120v power? • @mpcp27
    @mpcp27 3 года назад +1

    The 88p is a very good compressor. I have had one for 4 years. Though with those tires at 7 minutes per tire to go from 18 psi to 70 psi you are pushing up against the duty cycle of 25 minutes for 4 tires. The 88p doesn't have a thermal cutout so you could blow fuse. If it fails, you could consider going to the smittybuilt 2780/2781 with a 2.7 cfm/ 5.4cfm which is 2-4 times the cfm of the 88p . The price is about $105/$165... About $50-$100 more than the 88p.

      Thank you for this info. And perfect timing. I'm considering putting the via air in my cherokee trail hawk and buying a bigger one for the truck for the exact reason you mentioned. I will look into the smitty! Thank you again.

    • @mpcp27
      @mpcp27 3 года назад

      @@SamkoTradBow ... Besides the Smittybuilt, ironman 4x4 has similar compressors too. Desert Armor also a portable dual compressor pump that also runs off the battery. Puts out about 10.4 cfm. It's not cheap.. about $220. Another company had something similar for about $175 but were sold out

    Been researching these little air compressors and have had my eye on this very compressor. But you sold me on this one because nobody has done a review on a tire like yours(and mine). airing down and then airing up to 60 -70psi., most have been 32-35 psi. Went through your link to Amazon and bought one, hope you get a kickback from them!!!!

    I want to get this compressor, but what happens if the hose breaks or gets a leak as all airhoses do..the way it’s attached to the compressor doesn’t seem like it’s meant to be replaced

    • @SamkoTradBow
      @SamkoTradBow  4 года назад

      Its only a 50 dollar-ish compressor. By the time the hose rots and goes bad its probably time for a new compressor anyway. And the replacement hose would probably be close to the cost of just buying a new one
