- This is a tutorial for removing your headlamp assembly to replace it or upgrade to an aftermarket product.

RAHRENA TIP: It may be the case that you're just replacing a single headlamp housing instead of both- if so, you may be able to get away with only removing that side of the bumper cover to access the bolt you need.
Pay special attention to fitment and alignment with body panels when reinstalling the lamp housings. Adjust as necessary for a consistent gap.

Another solid video. Replacing my headlamps is something I was planning on doing within the next 12mo or so. Mine have some slight UV damage on the top side (doesn't affect the light throw forward), so it's purely just for cosmetic reasons. Thanks for keeping the uploads going!
Great video , very informative as far as tools go and sequence , I had to replace the DS headlight lens on my 2015 escape a pain in the butt , i was able to use my 1/4 in air ratchet and 1/4 in low profile socket t 25 i believe it is , and get between the bumper cover and the the screw under the turn signal light out , less removing the bumper cover , long story short , thank you for the information , i never would have thought that they would put a screw in a location that would cause so much grief to replace a simple item. thank you again for all your expertise

my 2020 Ford escape Titanium came with a 10mm screw and that I was able to reach with a rench thus keeping me from removing the bumper. :)
Been searching around the interwebs for an answer, but have not had much luck, but does anyone know if you can add an extension to the headlight wiring? in my '17 Escape the driver side headlight (low beam) the wiring seems short and was thinking about putting an extension between the factory wiring and the bulb.
Edit: i was able to get a piece of string around the wiring harness that fell inside the headlight assembly. Yes it was shorter for some reason, but giving it a slight yank, not hard to rip off the harness, i was able to pull more of the wiring out. It seemed to have been stuck inside somewhere. Once I got that little bit out, i was able to install the bulb like normal.
Thanks for the follow up! Yeah they can be a bit tight in those lamp housings. Sorry for the delay in response and glad you figured it out. I wouldn't think a short additional wire in-line would cause any real issue so long as the connections were robust and well insulated. Do you have the halogens or the HID headlights?

Can the lens itself be removed? I've got UV damage and just want to remove and clean up the lens...don't really to need to replace an entire housing.
This didn't work for my 2020 Escape Hybrid Titanium. Could not get the front bumper off no matter how many bolts I took off. Help!
How much do the parts usually run?
All I want to do is remove the black decorative cover under the headlamp assembly. Years ago I bought DRL modules that replace that cover and would like to replace it without taking the entire bumper off. I wish I could hold a lamp assembly in my hand to see how it’s configured. Curious, what is the estimated labor for replacement of the assembly? Thanks for the video.
Hey there and sorry for the delay- I know exactly the DRL kit you're talking about (I believe!) - it is the little black strip under the front edges of the headlamps, right?

Any idea or tips for a possible coolant leak and how to resolve? My 2013 SE seems to be fluctuating it’s temperature gage before it stays in the center. I noticed it triggers “Transmission Fault Service Now” then “Power Reduced to lower engine temperature” when I’m on longer trips,(more than 30 min and on the freeway).
But in town I have no issues.
You needs to remove out the old thermostat. Clean the area out very good.
Then get a new Thermostat Gasket & New Thermostat. Install them in.

Since you have to remove the entire front of the car first, it would have been helpful to see how that was done. This video is therefore not much use to me.
I'm going to do a searech on HOW TO REMOVE FRONT BUMPER and see if they do have a video on it. My body shop charged me $50.00 a side to replace the headlight assembly.
It helped me, now I learned how to change my headlamp!

Sorry for the delay in response here- yes lol the manual isn't super helpful. The bulbs are good to know about, but that lower screw being covered by the bumper is a big ole pain. Thanks for commenting and for being a subscriber! Really appreciate the enthusiasm and support!
I will Never, Never buy a Ford again. It's just cost me £95 to replace a side light bulb in a Kuga 2014. Fucking ridiculous.
