the original sounds happy, as if the person is happy about the breakup and upset about the things that happened. but this one just sounds SO HURT, like you are in love with that person, you want them but you know it would be a disaster to go back to them, so you don't want to talk because you know if you talk you'll give in. I love how your voice gets louder when you sing "let's remember all the words that we think are gonna make our hearts break". At first you sing sweetly about waking up next to them, watching movie trailers etc. and then its like you wake up from a beautiful dream and notice the reality. This just touched me on so many levels. And your cover reminded me of the power of music, like when you slow down a song you notice the actual meaning behind the lyrics and i think your version of the song did wonders.

I was lucky enough to see Yva perform with Nitin Sawhney here in Australia a few years ago. That’s how I found this song by looking her up and I think I am 1million of the 2 million listens on Spotify 😂 just kidding. Glad to see people are finally finding this beautiful voice 😊🎼

There are so many details done so well here, like the inflections in your voice that sound so desperate, the subtle harmonies, and the delay going on in the mix which emphasizes certain consonants giving this haunting effect
You can hear in your voice that the emotion is building up but it's saved for the climax at 3:09. To me this is lashing out at someone you love. You've been trying to hold it in for their sake, but at a certain point you just can't and they're the undeserving victim. You regret it right away and try to justify everything, but in the end you just feel guilty and lost and like you don't deserve to be around them anymore because you know you will hurt them again
I really hope this cover gets more attention, it's so potent and powerful. Easy sub, hope to hear more music from ya ;)

I just came across this song on Spotify, and I've been playing it on repeat since. The vocals are incredible, I love the build-up there is going on, how powerful the vocals become at the end. I'm currently listening to the original version by James Bay, that I had never heard, I can't say that it's not good, but honestly, your arrangement gives a complete other vibe, and I am OBSESSED!

This song resonates with me so much. I feel the waves of conflicting ideas coming to me and getting stronger confusing me, upsetting me by the end similarly to the song. Gorgeous voice and amazing take on the song. I listened to her other songs and they’re so gorgeous too! I wish you had a bigger audience listening to your songs... they’re missing out.
I love you singing this, and singing along with you until 2:55 as of today I can't hit those notes. This song has become one of my favorite vocal challenges I'm almost obsessed with getting it right. Your version to me is the right perspective for the lyrics and song, Jimmy did great, but you've nailed it.
