      @tydiriumhanger1320 I never cared for the Aerialbots as characters, so I wasn't interested in the figures upon release. It wasn't til later that I realized I needed an opposing combiner for Constructor in my diorama. So when I finally bought one it was $160 @ TF Source. It may have been a re-release.

    I missed all of the FT combiner figures so far since I wasn't collecting when they first came out so i'm kinda screwed. I see some people in the comments complaining that they're even being reissued at all but for people like me who never had a shot at them it's nice. I don't care about their damn resale value of all their extra figures they bought to scalp people with. Comparing FT figures to collectible basketball cards is room temperature IQ levels of dumb.
    That said, I think I might have to pass on them. I think I could've been fine if the limbs were $150 each and Jester and Skeleton being $300 but this is a bridge too far. I think ShowZ's prices will end up a tiny bit under $200 for the limbs and ~$380 for Jester/Skeleton. That's still too damn much, though. I bought my entire Superitron for less than what Jester will be selling for. It's ridiculous.

    Sadly I've noticed that, showz's pre order final prices for the bigger FT figures have started being the same as American E-tailers. My FT Recorder was one, and a couple of others. I don't see these being any cheaper there, unfortunately. It's simply greed on everyones' part, and they're using inflation as a blanket excuse.

    Fact is that a lot of us are almost done with our Transformers Collection. These companies know which characters have been released and which ones are anticipated. Takara (Hasbro) know, which is why they will NEVER complete a full transformers roster. They'll reboot in a different scale to get people on the hamster wheel of buying. Fans Toys is cashing out. They want all they know they can get before collectors are content with their collection.
    I feel sorry for people just now getting into collecting. They are going to have to pay a King's Ransom to catch up and with less competition and options in the marketplace.

    I spoke on this many times, but from a different angle...ppl in the community who give FT a pass for everything & bash other companies for EVERYTHING are assisting FT with their price gouging...WE NEED A COMPETITIVE MARKET...I have more FT figures than any other companies figures in my collection but I am not going to buy FT only...we have to show that we will buy another company's product which will force FT to keep their products reasonable even if they're the most expensive, which is ok...all we have to do is let releases like this sit & watch the price drop... problem solved, thank me later...great video

    I only have the Stunticons and use DX9 Kukinski as my Dead End. I'd rather have FT Bandit, but I never planned to combine they as I just don't have the room. If they force me to buy the trailer/combiner parts for $400 or more I'm sticking with my team as is. Just because I can afford, doesn't mean I can justify the cost they are asking. I'd be in at under $300. Chances are Jester and Bandit will sit at these prices and eventually go on sale, only then would I consider buying Bandit.

      @@tydiriumhanger1320 Got my MP57 for 225 USD. Anyway, some of these guys quote MP44 as the culprit, but I think the Takara pricing really depends on figure complexity on a per-character basis. Indeed, Skyfire is not as complex so despite his size, he's reasonably priced. Also, glad my copy doesnt have QC issues so I'm not desperate for that MP57 KO.

    These are all great points. It seems like FansToys is flaky with re-releases - I think Thomas was re-released at maybe lower than his original price, though that may have been because he went from a Limited to a mainstream release. But in this case, these aren't all re-releases...
    I just saw that DX9 Attila is selling as a set for $450 and I snatched one up. I so wish that DX9 was going to do more combiners, but they seem to be moving away from MP scale, for now at least, which is a major bummer. Also, I just noticed that TFSource has moved up the release dates for their Aerialbots to December 2023.

  • @thebigdb1
    @thebigdb1 10 месяцев назад +3

    Personal I think it sounds like there's a bunch of things going on here....
    Sounds like there was a lot of controversy couple years ago when a bunch of the designers left. So I think that there's some political drama going on within the company still regarding that.
    Thing too I think people kind of overlook because I don't think people are geo educated, is that China is on the verge of collapse. I don't see it on the news very much but people are leaving the country and droves if they can. It's almost like Ukraine refugee issue. My dad lives in Thailand, and the country right now is swarming with Chinese Nationals trying to seek asylum.
    A lot of the Chinese youth retired communism and the CCP, and basically a refusing to work. The 'let it rot' movement.
    Most people don't even know about the fact that China is been working on switching from a production footing to a war time production, and there aren't that many factories producing commercial goods for the last four to five years. That's influencing this as well just because of access to production.
    I've done a lot product design over the years, and one thing I can say is that it is far easier to design something than it is to actually get it out there and produced. That's probably the hardest thing. The physical manufacturer of it. Or more specifically, getting access to the machinery to get it made.
    How do you make something if you don't have the tools right?
    Those are I kind of find the the quality a little bit dodgy, that's the reason why I went with MMC's bruticus and defensor because of the fact I just like the built-in combine mode just because you don't have to worry about this kibble issue. Not only less likely to lose parts, it's all there. So apart from being broken. It's hard to kind of lose some of that stuff.
    The only thing I don't like about MMC as I've had some of their plastic snap on me. I don't play with my stuff that much. I might occasionally take it down off the shelf transform it, and put it back up, but it doesn't see heavy wear from me. But I'm a little bit afraid of how well they'll hold up 30 40 years down the road because of the lack of quality that I have seen in terms of the material. So it's kind of a catch-22 of which company you go with
    I don't mind bruticus or defensor being shorter than Superiorion because in the comic and cartoon show, Superion was taller than either combiner. Was physically a little bit weaker, but faster and taller. So the scaling from one company to the other works for me in that sense.
    I just find it to be politics myself.

      @tydiriumhanger1320  10 месяцев назад +1

      Great insight into production. You will never hear what is really going on in todays ultra controlled media. The only thing that seems odd is that XTB and others can still produce their figures for similar pricing structures in the past maybe a bit higher but not twice.

    @drewc9169 10 месяцев назад +1

    To me there are 2 factors at play.
    1 inflation
    2 secondary market for FT
    People have been spending 2 or 3 times the cost of FT on the secondary market and they don't see anything from that now they're raise prices to get more of that profit they were leaving on the table.

    • @drewc9169
      @drewc9169 10 месяцев назад

      People who have been in on this set since day 1 its only $620 they have to spend. That is a large departure but if they really want it the can put down $30 a pay check and get it. If they don't want to pay that they can easily sell them for a good profit and still be cheaper than the reissue of the figures they have. At least FT aren't only undercutting the reissue and marking up the new stuff.

    • @drewc9169
      @drewc9169 10 месяцев назад +1

      If people don't like the price, maybe it could give us a return of more 3P companies. DX9 should be dusting off their Menasor molds in anticipation of a FT $400 stunticon piece. Heck other companies should be working on a superion. When there is something the mp community doesn't like the market will fill in.

      @tydiriumhanger1320  10 месяцев назад +1

  • @darwinxavier3516
    @darwinxavier3516 10 месяцев назад +2

    Their backpacks already made them kinda questionable to me so I already wasn't in for their bots modes. The huge amount of partsforming needed for Superion already had me question if I even needed a Superion made of separate bots. The Aerialbots themselves were already kinda uninteresting to me since 4 of them probably share a lot of the same transformation. The massive price jump was just the last straw to deter me from bothering with this set. I might pick up a Zeta Superion if I see one on sale. Or go for the super stylized one.

    FT Superion add-on parts at usd 200 can be a discussion but this quite the same price for XTB Menasor add-on, etc..

      I see your point but I do not completely agree given the materials, paint and attention to detail these figures have and the size of the limbs are almost the size of prime when in their robot modes with silverbolt being even larger. Not to mention these are essentially triple changers as well. I feel that getting them cheaper in the past was a bargain and that people should be greatful they got in on these at a great price when they first came out. If anything, sell them and make back more than what you paid. I am looking for a used iceman and maverick in top condition and willing to pay $175 and $225 respectively.

    I am going to point something as I have been keeping an eye for sometime on the Fanstoys Aerialbots and forgive the USD on the prices as I live in Australia, my last retail price for Maverick was $329USD with Iceman and Goose priced at $219USD (the pricing was when Viper and Jester went on their recent pre-order), in that Maverick is cheaper than what he was and I am guessing that price will be corrected to the $329USD for his Show.Z pre-order price is higher. I am going to say as a later collector these prices are "normal" for the current market and I hope they have at least have a estimated September 2024 release for you are dropping over $1000USD on the set and you don't want to be caught out on a limited release.
    I can understand retailers wanting to sell the products at the Ebay prices and I do think they are part of the problem with the inflation of prices, that said I don't know how much these products are wholesale. If we go by Fanstoys having issues with KOs, I would say Fanstoys are selling their products to retailers at a higher price.

    I honestly think its the retailer and not Fans Toys. I have noticed TFSource and Bigbadtoystore get worse and worse in the past year. As you said in the video, with inflation the price is bound to go up as well. I did the math and FT-57 is 57% more on TFsource than what I paid at ShowZ. This brings the arm bots down to $140. The original price on the arm bots was $120...so if that percentage holds we are only talking about a 16% increase through all of the inflation of 2021-2023. So lets all hope that ShowZ comes through for us.

    • @saysoun752
      @saysoun752 10 месяцев назад

      This isn't always the case as this is more of a case by case basis with TFSource usually be the most expensive. BBTS is usually a lot closer in price than TFSource. For example, Fans Toys Astrotrain is $180 on ShowZstore and $200 on BBTS. The variant colors are $220 on ShowZstore and $240 on BBTS but, ShowZstore has lowered it to $180, probably because it's not selling as well. Then there's Cyclonus being $190 vs $220 and $275 and $320, toon version. As you can see from the toon look, that's strictly on Fans Toys as there's no way it should had gone from $190 to $275. As for the prices being higher in the US, that's the companies passing the savings onto the customers as they have to pay to get the products to the US and that costs money as most of these are coming from China or Vietnam. ShowZstore is a Chinese based company so they're going to pay less to get something shipped from China to them.

    Anyone who had convinced themselves just two years ago that the FT final combiner with parts would be less than $400 was just lieing to them selves. FT have always said the final figs would come with the combiner parts and that it would be double the price of a main fig. Anyone not knowing that the cost of factory time and materials for any manufacturing, not just toys, has dramattically gone up, has just been burring their head in the sand.

      I think it is a valid question and not fair to single out just one company that, while some of their work is frusterating, is still considered to be top of the line. You still get what you pay for. It is also not fair to only be ysing old china pricing as a guage and not domestic pricing. Domestic pricing for the arial bots was $135 for the smaller figs and %185 for Maverik. Same with the stunticons. This is the price most people paid. Now that the days of cheap china pricing are pretty much over, we can't compair the same prices. you are not taking all factors into account... at least as far as I see it.

      @@tydiriumhanger1320 yeah me too I'm kinda leary about the price point on that,I would be ok if it was around $1100
      But I think if it does happen it would be way more than that ,with the way inflation is

    i was never going to get the combiner parts forming as i was happy with my zeta but loved the ft individual bots. but 400 dollars for slingshot haha. hate to tell ft but they are doing it all wrong. good luck with their fanbase shelling out that kind of money. for the last two will be the price of the first three. yes yes everything good cost money blah blah blah but there's competition and yes xtb is on and off with it's qc but their menasor is still top notch. it has its issues and transformation and the price wasn't great either but better than this one overall and plus they released it. imagine that. ft has competition not only with other 3rd party but many including myself enjoy the legend scale stuff by newage and ms and to be honest i wasn't and still not excited after they showcased the last two arielbots. Like anything I just want til retailers can't meet the numbers and then they drop it. be the consumer, demand better marketing and pricing. but they look good as ft goes, but i was never a loyal buyer of any company so for me this is a easy pass

      Yep many will pass on this set for those prices but others feel obligated to finish the set

    I feel like FT is taking advantage of people with these prices. Some that have been waiting years will feel forced to pay these high prices to complete the set. I'm guessing Zeta will do another release with metallic paint for those that want a more reasonably priced alternative.
    Really glad I sold my FT combiners in march.

    There are those who feel they have no choice and will do everything to justify the price hikes, Leaving those who don't, out in the cold. I for one am glad I made the wise choice to quit transformers. I don't care who you are and how much money you have. Spending $200+ for a robot that eventually will get another version released (at a higher price point) makes no sense to me. It's just a vicious cycle that never ends. Plus, after years of MPs, you still can't even complete a damn season. Lol

      The game of collecting MP TF can be frustrating but is still satisfying. The prices are getting out of control

      @@tydiriumhanger1320 I saw this coming when Takara Grapple was released. The price doubled from the recently released Ratchet. It got out of control from there.

    Its not as if fanstoys werent screwing people over with their prices from the start....they were ALWAYS over priced and never worth the money so im delighted i only ever bought 1 of the products 7 years ago which was garbage btw

    I'm happy with my Zeta Superion. I would be in on this fanstoys set for bot modes if they were $150 a piece. I can't do $1400 for 5 figures.

    I think My Masterpiece transformers collecting has come to an end. At these current price points, Im out. Ill wait a few years until the world resettles. CPU dram prices are finally coming back down, so Ill wait on these also.

  • @jon9550

    Honestly this all feels a little bit like a bait & switch.
    Fanstoys should have figured out the engineering required to build a functional combiner before they ever took payment for a single Aerialbot. Even if they just had 3D printed prototypes with minimal detail and no deco just so they can work out the weight and balance requirements. Fanstoys sells product on the weight of their considerable design expertise and I feel like they let everyone down with this set. First the YEARS long delay and now the price spike all to cover their own mistakes.
    At the end of the day you're either going to buy them or not. I'm not, I am happy with my Zeta Superion and got tired of waiting for Fanstoys to "do it better." But still FT deserves a solid ding to their reputation for this gaffe.

      I am in on these even though got Zeta during the initial release. Fanstoys has had issues with these combiners since day 1. Why do 2 sets at the same time and no idea how they will combine? 5 years later the first mold costs nearly twice the price to reissue?
