Great review... with a Skit! I miss those skits 😁😅 Paik4life was saying that they should have released this first, so that Goose's waist that turns only to one side would be an upgrade to this one. Looks great, but yeah, the fell short regarding some acceptable articulation this time. Hopefully this one will be the weak link so to speak, and not-Firefly and not-Slingshot are better. Thanks for the hard work to put this out so quickly!
I don’t need a waist swivel. I never use it on any of my figures. What I do need, or at least want, is a transformation that doesn’t make me want to punch a kitten. And with Fanstoys; well, good thing I don’t have kittens.
Bobby, the instructions show Not to tab the legs together until After dropping the bar through the panels. Helps with the clearence a bit. Heres hoping the last figure of each combiner will come with some swap out chrome eyes for the crew so they all match! A man can dream.
To be honest this is the Only MP representation of the character we have. In my book you can't even count Zeta. Is not even a comparison. Zeta is flimsy and cheap. Feels like it came out of a Frosted Flakes box. I know people don't like fanstoys lack of articulation, but am OK with that! As long as the figure has the right proportions, modern Aesthetics and premium feel. Which Fanstoys always seem to have. Am good!! Fanstoys is the Best!!! ..As always great review!
I don't understand it. They gave it a complex transformation but in the end there are still compromises, a very big one at that with the waist swivel. It's not as if it is hiding a combiner's appendage inside like MMC's Assaultus.
Yeah, it's kind of a weird move. Clearly they're going to have to include all of their combiner parts with one of their figures (or maybe they will sell the parts separately). Regardless, the price for the entire set is going to be ridiculous.

I completely agree with not giving them a pass on the waist swivel, however, I look over at my shelf and notice how many of my figures are posed utilising their waist swivel, or, should I say, how few of them are using their waist swivel. So, it isn't that big of a deal to me.
Having the landing gear come out of the knees is a nice touch, but I find it odd that they wouldn't flip out in the opposite direction. If they did, you could see the wheel and not a yellow/red panel. Seems like an obvious thing to me.
No waist swivel is such a bummer. When even most Hasbro retail figures have that piece of articulation nowadays it's unacceptable for a high price, premium collector's piece. Maybe this would've been fine a few years ago.
I love the look and feel of this bot. I am disappointed at some of the lack of articulation, but not enough to be unhappy with it. Really enjoying the set so far, much more then my Zeta versions. The knees of my Zeta bots gave out(mid shin of Superion) and he took a header off the shelf. Has not held up well, unfortunately. Thanks for the review, as always.

You can have the waits swivel if you have the nose cone plugged in just of his head. The trade off being that the nose cone does tower over him. Great review as always, I'm for them but have some worries now for the combine mode.
Solid review. He's not perfect but the look and presence is just too good to pass up. I didn't really have any issues transforming him but then again I compare everything to the first time I transformed Sovereign or Quietus and he's nowhere near that nightmare. Still, the 3 of them look great on my shelf and I'm anxiously awaiting the final two so I can see how the combiner is going to stack up. Really, really hope they tackle Defensor and Bruticus next.
Bobby - Beware the rectangular pegholes on the back of the legs cracking! There’s paint on the tail fin tabs AND inside the holes themselves. It creates too much pressure and they crack! Take a needle file and take the paint off the tabs and the insides of the holes or they will fail in the long term (had to repair mine already with plastic weld!)
My dude, I just noticed that when you combiner wars the upper arms into the shoulders, there are bits that cover down on the armpits that swivel around with the combiner wars actioning. THats the kind of shit I signed up to FT for.

That waist swivel may be the dumbest thing FT have ever done. I also find the white paint weird, in direct light it looks great, but out of it almost looks dirty, its just odd. I really hope the combined mode is stunning, cos if it isn't there's going to be a savaging the likes of which we've never seen.
Robot mode - beautiful, except no waist swivel, inexcusable Alt mode - stunning Transformation - torso similar to goose, simple legs, very similar to goose backpack, arrrrrgghhhhhh Did I forget to mention mine didn’t come with the instruction manual or stat card......doh, individual who packaged my copy obviously forgot his checklist and had a Homer moment
I feel the same way towards the airelbots the way you feel about the stunticons. That's why if i ever get the space, I will get Zeta for combined mode and FT for bot mode. I wonder what Top Gun characters the last 2 will be named after?
So is there a reason for the badcube level of part count? I personally think there is too many little pieces involved in what should have been a fairly straight forward transformation. I mean zeta toys did a similar scale bot with literally half the parts count and i think thats what we need. Simple. Clever and fun. Not requiring an engineering degree and being sober for a year to figure it out. Just my opinion.
The final steps of the transformation being a pain is a theme with the set so far. Very enjoyable till you gotta make the "jet" parts all snap together. But the payoff at the end is where these alt mode transformations really shine.
14:25 - 18:01 had me like: "WTF?!" That is horrible. If you´re happy with him, you win. But I think that and the missing waist swivel is absolutely unacceptable. Thanks for showing this so detailed. Damn.
He looks good, but I sort of question the use of the metallic silver on his head like that (what is that, a vizor? his baseball cap brim?)... It detracts attention from his face due to it IMO.
Hi, One question: Do you recommend these Aerialbot dudes for playing? (I mean transform them back and forth like once a week or 3 times a month? XD) I'm asking in terms of bot and alt mode (as we don't know how the combined mode would work).The FT Menasor and these guys are attractive to me, but not just to display (I'm the "player collector" type). It is important to me knowing as much as possible before buying (I'm the same as you are with CT Ferocious XD, taking cautions). You have experienced many Fans Toys figures, I think you could give a proper advise. I case FT Superion/Menasor aren't good for what I'm looking for, what would you recommed me, Zeta Toys Superion? And how for 3P Menasor? Thanks.
I’d say no for these guys. Some lend themselves well to it like chomp and fortress but others like MM and aerialbots have a lot of moving pieces that end up never the same after much use but FT usually hold up pretty well
That cracking sound isn't necessarily a worry, but while most people credit Fans Toys for great materials in my experience they get more stress marks and more breakage than any other brand including Takara/Hasbro.
I feel like they keep raising the height of their bots. I was fine with goose but Iceman is too tall for me... but I'm halfway through so I guess I'm seeing it through. I'm really nervous that Menasor's combiner stuff will transform.

Not the most elegant of transformations. Great Googa Mooga Great looking figure. I feel like no waist swivel and elbow past 90 is a step back. I'm not a big ab crunch person. If a fig doesnt have it, it's not the end of the world.

It feels like you just took it out of the box skip the instructions and maybe just watched someone else transformation video and then made a video. I just say it since when it comes to working on those wings you seem to be winging it on the fly. It looks like a challenge to transform since even you called it a disaster. Maybe you can redo that part in the video since it makes your audience feel lost watching it. This makes the KO OS CW Air-raid look good when it comes to transformation.
