When my Mum and Dad planned to get married in 1994, they went to a disc jockey in Waltham, MA to do the music for their wedding. When they told him that they were about to be married, he asked if they wanted to play a song on the radio, so, with her impeccable love and sense of good music, my Mum requested "Space Cowboy" by the Jonzun Crew. I'd say that, if it weren't for this excellent song, my Mum and Dad wouldn't have spent the last twenty-six years together. Thanks much, Jonzun Crew!
I saw this 12” vinyl in a new used record store in SF yesterday. looking through the 12” old school section took me back. We had it so good in the 80’s & 90’s and miss those days.
I have listened this fantastic music in Sovient Union in 1983 year in age of 14 years. Now I'm 53 years old. Thanks for this music that made tremendous influence on my music taste!
@@NameCallingIsWeakwhat does L.A. have to do with Soviet Union though? I’m trying to encourage my dad to get back to making music. He has a ton of new unreleased music!!! Leave comments of encouragement to him and I’ll show him next time I see him. I think with enough comments he would go full force!
This was so much fun! I loved the 80's. I was all into the Jonzun crew - The Planet Patrol & Pack Jam! Scorpio by Grandmaster Flash and of course: Afrika Bambaataa and the Soul Sonic Force & Planet Rock which was my first album- That song changed my life; it was so mesmerizing- There was never anything so sonically captivating then the TR- 808 on Planet Rock in 1983! I Jonzun crew is only related to Afrika on the label Tommy Boy but for some reason the two are conflated to me.
Only remembered this song because the Sugar Land Skeeters (Astros Triple A minor league team) name changed to the "The Space Cowboys" so as soon as saw that I thought of this song! Sweet memories back in 1983, breakdancing was at it's height and other break dancing songs come to mind from that era such as Newcleus "Jam on It", Kraftwerk "Tour de France" (made famous from the movie "Breakin" with Turbo dancing solo to it in a broomstick scene), Planet Rock "Play at your own Risk", and others. Best era for music and dancing EVER!
Lost in space is musical masterpiece, decades ahead of its time. Most here are familiar with Space Cowboy but Ground Control is a jewel of a space anthem along with Space is the place, Pack jam and We are the Jonzun Crew. The whole album is a master class in creative synthesized programing and vocoder execution. Lost in space is a work of outstanding artistry and a MUST listen for anybody who appreciates the true pioneers of this futuristic musical genre.
This is one of my favorite songs of all time! If you can't feel the funk, and this song doesn't bring a smile to your face and a groove to your step, I don't want to know you! Straight classic, and I love Pack Jam too!
It's weird because when I use to hear this on the radio as a kid in the 80's I never could put a face with the voice.....now 38 years later I just did lol

Michael Jonzun’s solo album, “Money isn’t Everything,” is fantastic. The album cover is EPIC and the songs are wonderful. “Games People Play” is as good as it gets!
