A common rice item known by everyone. That is "pulav". Method of preparation of pulav is different from place to place and individual to individual. But commonly used ingredients are cynamon, cloves and pepper, onion, coriander leaves, carrot, beans and potatoes. You can add other vegetables like cauliflower, capsicum etc., but the above are minimum ingredients to pulav. Garlic is used by all, but pulav tastes good without garlic too. Salad with cucumber, onion and tomato is best combination for the Pulav. Shown both the recipes here.

Cauliflower
Green peas 1/2cup
For Masalas
Cinnamon 3pieces
Cloves 6pieces
Star anise 1
Cardamom 1/2sp
Bay leaf .
Basumathi rice 2&1/2cup
Ghee 1cup
Cashew nuts
Water 6cups
Salt to taste
For Salad
Cucumber 1
Tomato 4
Onion 1
Green chilli 2
Buttermilk/curd 4-5cup
Salt to taste
Coriender leaves

I showed my son how you cook by grinding in the stone and how it is so much like my grand mother’s cooking. He used to not believe me when I had described him how cooking in our childhood was. Now he is very impressed with the way you cook and wants to try this when we visit India 😀😀
