We've waited so long to find out what happened to him at this point in time, why make it something simple and boring. I just get this feeling something tragic is going to hapoen to him
@@Viral_Verity4587 I feel like the Clone Rebellion is the only single event that they could end the show with, that one thing that everything in the show builds up to for the series finale. The Clone Rebellion is definitely a way I could see the show going for a series finale in a few years
It’s so weird seeing the clones actually like interact and such post order 66. You’d think they’d seem mindless and cold, but they’re the exact same for the most part, just completely brainwashed. That’s why it’s so painful, because they’re still our same clones, but they’re on the wrong side.
I think even that shows that it’s wearing off on a larger scale, in season 1 they were literally like droids and didn’t even seem to have emotions at all, maybe indicating that they aren’t all as brainwashed as we think
Order 66 actually never turned them into mindless soldiers they’ve actually been the same the whole time the order just made them think the Jedi turned on them that’s it really
@@CGFitness1 yeah it was their aggression was all towards the Jedi. They’ve always been somewhat cold and stoic towards regular people for the most part. Crosshair is just such an enigmatic character, I have no idea which path he’s gonna go down. Like he keeps cementing his faith in the Empire, but he’s also coming to terms with how alone he is. The scenes of him in his quarters definitely seemed like a throw back to agent Kallus in rebels.
I think his path will be determined by his Superiors. Crosshair is loyal to the Empire but because of his attitude and narrow-mindedness even people like Rampart are starting to question wherever he’s becoming a liability than a asset. Even Rampart could put 2+2 together when Cody went AWOL.
That was quite possibly the best episode in the entire series. Incredible action and the animation for Star Wars Animated content has gotten absolutely phenomenal.
This episode was such a throwback, having Cody back and then also seeing him care for his men and seeing them all be called by names rather than their numbers like we’ve seen for the most part post order 66. Also seeing them going into battle and fighting battle droids again made it feel like the clone wars again and made the clones seem like the good guys again, really it’s all perspective bc we see the bad batch as the good guys and the regs as the bad guys but this episode shows us that the regs are still good and are just following orders. It was also a nice touch to see how Crosshair called Cody by his name and Rampart only referred to him by his number and Crosshair seemed irritated when he didn’t even know who Cody was outside his number. It’s like Hunter told Crosshair, “All you’ll ever be to them is a number”. Seeing the governor give Cody that look and then look back at the StormTroopers coming in as the new troops, was just a huge nod of him saying, your days are numbered (Clones) end of an era and a new time is coming.
This episode was so good. Crosshair really is starting to now grow a conscious. He had it all this time it took too long for him to figure out. I will say the impressive marksmanship from him in this episode was just impressive. Scenes between Commander Cody and Crosshair as they exchange words felt like 2 different actors performing even though we know it's one actor doing all the clone troopers. The voice acting performance is beyond your own reflection and Dee Bradley Baker just seems to WOW the audience everytime.
I felt like a child again watching this episode, that is, I felt like I was seeing a classic episode of The Clone Wars again, seeing the Clones fighting against the Droids, like in the old days, pure nostalgia

There's this internal conflict the whole episode, yet he is so calm under pressure. The way the clones maneuvered in this episode felt less like we were watching an episode of The Clone Wars or the Bad Batch and more like we were watching a realistic movie following a group of elite soldiers. Even a detail as simple as the droid almost killing him creating a contrast where we realize that these guys are capable but not invincible. The depth of this episode is amazing and it did a great job of elevating the stakes and making everything that happens in this universe seem more serious.

This episode to me was a love letter to Clone Wars, just like that one Rebels episode was where the Ghost Crew team up with the clankers in an episode. This season has potential to be even better than the first
Best Bad Batch episode in the series for sure, literally I had chills and goosebumps after this episode...😰 Like WOW man. That score, action, conversations between Cody, Crosshair and Rampart. Perfect!
Great seeing Cody again! And it’s also a breath of fresh air seeing “clones” fight droids again even though things aren’t the same. Great episode for it only being #3!
Crosshair is such an intriguing character. It's refreshing to see a clone that's basically just like the clones from Legends. Just cooler. This episode felt a lot like that episode of Rebels where Agent Kallus woke up alone and depressed. An intentional decision on Dave's part I'm sure, but I loved it.
"Do you think we're making the galaxy better?" That's the kind of question I've always wanted to see explored. Don't let anyone tell you animation is just for kids...
I actually enjoyed this "filler" WAY more than the normal Bad Batch! There was just something about a contained episode but with lots of stakes and drama and for some reason I didn't know who to root for. Part of me was rooting for the droids unlike normal since the sides were basically reversed and they were actually defending peace, but the other part of me has always loved how cool clones are since I was a kid and it showed it from their perspective, like they were the protagonists still. Just... wow!
I loved this episode so much! I felt like everything about it was just so perfect. Again the animation is stunning and super beautiful, especially when they are on Desix. The coloring used on the environments for both Desix and Coruscent are just so visually pleasing and amazing and are able to portray the tones of the specific scenes. The score for this episode was also so amazing. It was really great to see Crosshair again, especially since he did a lot of really awesome stuff in his episode like taking down that tank and shooting those four droids with only one shot. And I really liked seeing all of his different interactions with people whether it be other Clones, Imperials or Cody. And speaking of Commander Cody, I loved everything about him throughout this episode. Not only is it great to see him again after Clone Wars Season 7, but this is the first time that we’re seeing him canonically since Revenge of the Sith. It was also really great to see him back in action, taking down droids again. And I loved how remorseful he seems, when Crosshair talked about the Jedi, he immediately had a look on his face like he was questioning a decision. And then again near the end of the episode, when he sees all the Stormtroopers starting to occupy the planet he has this look of remorse and regret. I also really liked his conversation with Ames because not only was she able to change his viewpoint more on what the Empire has been doing, but it was also just great to see how, despite the fact that he was given an order to kill her, Cody was still trying to negotiate a peaceful resolution in which no one had to get hurt. And I loved all of his lines to Crosshair near the end of the episode, you could just feel Cody’s conflicted emotions as he said them. I also loved how this really did feel like an episode of Clone Wars, but this time the Clones were fighting for what was wrong, and the Battle Droids were fighting for the right. And I loved seeing the Droids again, not only did we get the B1 Battle Droids back, but we also got a Tactical Droid, Commando Droids and Droidekas which were all really great. I also really liked all the new ways they found to kill some of the Droids, it was super cool and really awesome. And it was pretty obvious from just the trailer first alone that Cody was going to leave the Empire, but I truly did not expect that he would do it in this episode. Also Rampart’s closing words in this episode felt so personal, like he said to intentionally mock Crosshair. And with this scene and his scene at the end of episode 2 I really feel like they’re building Rampart up to, do or be, more. I cannot wait to see next week’s episode, I am very curious to see where the story will go next.
Cody’s face says it all in the last few minutes. So much emotion shown on the face of an animated character. He doesn’t say a word, but you can tell exactly what he’s thinking
Yes, a great episode. Things are darker and more complicated. I agree, Greg and Mike: The embers of an actual Clone Rebellion are igniting. My guess is, if it ever comes to be, its destruction will be swift and kept under the rug, from both the galaxy and the remaining clones...kind of like the (still unknown) act (by The Republic) that led to the terrible ongoing conflicts of The High Republic. I'm really hoping to see Crosshair encounter The Inquisitorius and Lord Darth Vader, since he's becoming a near-robotic, lethal weapon/enforcer, like them. Good analysis, Gentlemen. Till next time...
It was insane how GOOD this episode was. This is my favorite episode of the entirety of Bad Batch. The Ryloth arc was amazing and the twist in 1x15 was great, but those pale in comparison to this episode. It was almost like some dark reflection of a Clone Wars episode: "Clones are sent in to take out the Separatists." But this time, Cody becomes The Negotiator instead of his old general Obi-Wan. And he goes AWOL to defend his freedom of choice.
One of my favorite parts about this episode was Crosshair shooting at the AAT to get it to turn towards him. I was watching with a friend and he said something along the lines of "I thought Crosshair's whole thing was that he doesn't miss? Surely, he'd go for the droid in the turret?" After the episode, I told him that simply putting rounds down range is more effective than it seems since it forces the opposing force to take defensive action. In this case, it had the added benefit of giving the droids Crosshair's position so he had a clear shot down the barrel, allowing him to neutralize the tank. If he'd shot the gunner, the AAT's anti-infantry guns would still be operational, meaning that advancing up the bridge would result in a dead squad of clones I also really like how Crosshair seemed to work very well with the Regs despite having less than pleasant opinions on them in the Clone Wars (That bit where Nova threw a sticky grenade on that Battle Droid and Crosshair shot the droid so it fell through the Droideka's shield was glorious)
I think more than anything this is when Crosshair really started seeing the Empire in a different light. Seeing Commander Cody, the man who created Task Force 99, who was known for being a by the books commander, actually go AWOL from this new Empire. It almost seems like Crosshair could have expected this behavior from the other 99 members as they were more unique and independent. But Commander Cody leaving too? Maybe this Empire really is a bit too evil
Because he regrets his choices, Cody has officially become my favorite clone commander again. (I liked Cody when i was younger, then I moved to Rex, and now back to Cody)
Personally, when Cody called the two soldiers by name to go with him, that hit me. It’s been a while since we’ve seen individuality from the clones, and it shows Cody’s true feelings
The music has significantly stepped up in the animated shows since Tale of the Jedi and the storytelling as well. Dave Filoni is pouring his heart into his work and it’s phenomenal
I like that the reference to Mina Bontari and the peace bill wasn't just a cool easter egg, but it really shows how much Dooku and Palpatine screwed the galaxy and the Republic and Separatists views of each other. Dooku kept secrets from the Separatist Parliament just as much as Palpatine kept secrets from the Imperial Senate. Hearing this former Separatist's view on those events, knowing that Grievous' bombing attack on Coruscant wasn't public knowledge and made it seem like Palpatine was just a jerk who rejected the offer of peace is some really great insight into how the Separatists see things. Because I always wondered how the Separatists saw themselves as the good guys (and how some of them actually weren't that bad) yet their battle droids and military leaders were doing terrible things. Well, they just didn't know that it was happening
After watching the Clone Wars, this episode naturally makes you root for the clones over the droids during the battle, then you'll question why you're rooting for the Empire
We never see CODY in rebels just REX, WOLF, GREGOR.... so a clone rebellion might happen near the end n cody might end up dieing in the battle along with other named clones we might know while REX, WOLF n GREGOR are the only 3 to be able to escape with the help of bad batch team.... so they rescue them 3 n get them out of there.... that would explain why we only see those 3 in rebels n no other clones... then again we last see them on that planet in there customized republic walker so how n where did REX get that since that planet didnt seem like it had anything so it was transported there ??? .... all we know is CODY is most likely gonna die in a clone rebellion next to REX
I wonder if the chips were regularly updated by the kaminoans or if the signals they were receiving were based from kamino? Or even if the chips have a limited battery or working lifespan. Maybe the battles and possible damage via head trauma or different types of machinery or radio waves or whatever effects the effectiveness of the chips.
I was actually rooting for the droids this episode. Of course I didn’t want Cody or Crosshair to die. But I wanted the Separatists to win. Because if you look back at it, they were absolutely right. The republic was corrupt and they had every right to separate from them. They rebelled against the republic, just like years later the Rebellion rebells against the Empire. Only Palpatine and Dooku played the Republic and Separatists against each other out. The droids were as much slaves as the clones. The Separatists were never evil. The Sith were. Some of the military leaders for sure. But they weren’t no where as evil as the empire. The empire is as evil as can get.
I appreciate Nova a lot as a clone lover. He’s plain, but he’s full of skills, and his name is cool. Definitely is one of the old boys from the 212th gang. RIP soldier
Especially given Cody's reaction to his death. Cody almost died trying to get to him. (Granted, most clones will do that for other clones, but still.) The pain in his voice stung. I want to know a bit more about Wyla too, tbh. He got gunned down too quick.

I think an interesting angle would be to have the chips no longer work, but for the reason that the chips were designed by the Kaminoans to enforce Clone Obediency... as Soldiers of the Republic
Because of Fives in Clone Wars, the conspiracy started circulating that the inhibitor chips were going to make the clones turn on the Jedi and everything that comes with that. So, some clones had theirs removed in secret. Idk when Cody took his out because he tried to 66 Obi-Wan.
CROSSHAIRS, COMMANDER CODY, BATTLE DROIDS, DROIDEKAS, COMMANDO DROIDS!!!!!!!!!!!!! BEST EP OF SEASON 2 OF BAD BATCH SO FAR, VERY DARK EP BUT I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!
After watching this episode, I watched the Star Wars: Rebels episode, where we see Rex, Gregor, and Wolf. Kanan sounded like he met with the clones after hearing about the chip, and I wondered what happened to Cody. I am bracing myself for some sad endings with this series.
The clones were raised and conditioned for fighting for the republic under command of the Jedi. Order 66 was a conflicting order, regardless of "programming." That sudden shift to an empire and shift in command ethics would have some form of impact on their sense of duty.
Most Star Wars fans when watching this episode: Feels sad for Cody and Crosshair. Me when watching this episode: RIP to the poor droid commander high fiving while saying "Nice shot". :(
Cody: “We are not the enemy. The Empire seals to establish peace and order.” Cody just said a sentence you never wanna hear. “I am from the government, and I’m here to help” Cody is form the government and here to help.
I don't know if Cody appears later in the timeline, but I get the impression that he didn't go AWOL, he was killed for not following orders and Crosshair figured that out at the end really starting his turn back to the good side.
I wonder if it’s Crosshair’s chip that activated? Maybe I’m wrong but clearly Cody’s chip isn’t working and Crosshair’s was amplified so I’m assuming if an officer gives an order he must follow it.
i think Crosshair took the shot so Cody didnt have to or suffer anymore consequence for not obaying the order letting him walk away with what honer he has left intact even if its only in his mind
Am I the only one who not only likes but feels bad for the B1 droids? They r hilarious, n almost have a child-like innocence to them. To this day when anyone asks me to do something I always respond "Roger, Roger" out of my love for them. They seem to have the mentality of preteens, some seem to act even younger than that, n like the clones they have no choice. They r manufactured, n programmed, just like the clones were to kill the Jedi, but unlike the clones, they have to do w.e they r told. They can't decide for themselves, instead of killing droids they should b reprogramming them to think for themselves, tho I get y they don't this would take far too long, n far too much manpower. They r just as innocent as the clones, if not more so since they can't just go AWOL when they disagree with orders.

Ahhh yes the negotiator, commander cody we’ve waiting been waiting for you.
Cody:
You call this a diplomatic solution?
Crosshair:
No, I call it an aggressive negotiations
Loved this episode! Always love seeing the battle droids!
You know what my favourite part about this episode was the music it just made everything better. I hope to see Cody again this episode was fantastic
If he'd shot the gunner, the AAT's anti-infantry guns would still be operational, meaning that advancing up the bridge would result in a dead squad of clones
I also really like how Crosshair seemed to work very well with the Regs despite having less than pleasant opinions on them in the Clone Wars (That bit where Nova threw a sticky grenade on that Battle Droid and Crosshair shot the droid so it fell through the Droideka's shield was glorious)
Crosshair remains my favorite going into season 2.
Crosshair is the best character in this show for sure and i'm excited for more of him.
Well, they just didn't know that it was happening
i really wanted cody to stay with the empire and fight rex, but i love how they did it in the show. best episode yet
dude the Cody and crossbar actors have such good chemistry it's amazing
:D
At this point, Cody most likely still believes he killed Obi-Wan. I don't think anyone would have told him he survived.
The music is beautifully haunting at the end.
After watching the Clone Wars, this episode naturally makes you root for the clones over the droids during the battle, then you'll question why you're rooting for the Empire
This was easily my favorite Bad Batch episode
LETS GO CODYYYYY
This episode was so effing good.
loved an all crosshair ep
Dave Feloni should have made the sequel trilogy
It's not too late for him to lead the next batch of films!
Mina Bonteri is Lux’s mom :O
If I had a nickel for every time Cody getting shot down in a gunship. I’d have 2 nickels. Which it isn’t a lot, but it’s weird it happened twice.
Great reaction
I wonder if the chips were regularly updated by the kaminoans or if the signals they were receiving were based from kamino? Or even if the chips have a limited battery or working lifespan.
Maybe the battles and possible damage via head trauma or different types of machinery or radio waves or whatever effects the effectiveness of the chips.
I really enjoy watching this episode
Gen 1 stormtroopers were always the coolest.
Love what he said;
"God those words are haunting"
This is the coolest Star ware I’ve seen by far. My mind is actually blown
You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain
I love the battle droids high five shit is gold
The empire is as evil as can get.
the emotion cody had when nova died💔
I appreciate Nova a lot as a clone lover. He’s plain, but he’s full of skills, and his name is cool. Definitely is one of the old boys from the 212th gang. RIP soldier
Especially given Cody's reaction to his death. Cody almost died trying to get to him. (Granted, most clones will do that for other clones, but still.) The pain in his voice stung.
I want to know a bit more about Wyla too, tbh. He got gunned down too quick.
This was a fantastic episode clone wars vibes love it!! I love Cody being back… crosshair is a badass I just wish he was on the good side !!! Yay Micheal’s back great reaction guys May the force be with you xxxx
Aw shucks, right back at you!
@@michaeltessler question what’s your favourite Star Wars movie & character?
@@GingerGeek7567 - Hitting me with the tough questions! Empire Strikes Back was my favorite for a LONG time. Clone Wars has really made the prequels so much better so it might just be RotS!
As per character, I will ALWAYS will always love Obi-Wan Kenobi. He is such a relatable and brilliant character. All three actors who have portrayed him have brought such nuisance and great choice to flesh him out into one of the most authentic Star Wars characters out there!
As for obscure favorite characters...well HK-47 or Quarsh Panaka!
@@michaeltessler defo agree about clone wars making the prequels better but I grew up with them so I loved them anyway. Nice choice of movie.. mines still empire !! Kenobi is an awesome character loved the series too.. mines gonna be yoda or R2!!! Thank you for answering my question x
I think an interesting angle would be to have the chips no longer work, but for the reason that the chips were designed by the Kaminoans to enforce Clone Obediency... as Soldiers of the Republic
It really felt like a clone wars episode, nice to see droids again :) Cody wanted to escape with Crosshair but he is not ready yet :(
Did Cody just leave the empire?
Yes he sure did
It was incredibly predictable that he would
He saw the writing on the wall and had enough, plus the guilt of Order 66
I think Cody's going to die by Crosshair.
@@davidvasquez08 - I appreciate this pun haha
I would love to see this guy in all Star Wars content reactions
Rip Nova 😢
After watching this episode, I watched the Star Wars: Rebels episode, where we see Rex, Gregor, and Wolf. Kanan sounded like he met with the clones after hearing about the chip, and I wondered what happened to Cody. I am bracing myself for some sad endings with this series.
The clones were raised and conditioned for fighting for the republic under command of the Jedi. Order 66 was a conflicting order, regardless of "programming." That sudden shift to an empire and shift in command ethics would have some form of impact on their sense of duty.
Sooo did they kill Cody or did he actually leave the empire…
That’s what’s going through my head lol
I think he’s still alive
They wouldn't kill Cody off screen
he left.
@@cowntfranchewla right I didn’t think they would, just the way he phrased it sounded weird.
The scene where Cody sees the switch from clones to stormtrooper 🥺🥺
Most Star Wars fans when watching this episode: Feels sad for Cody and Crosshair.
Me when watching this episode: RIP to the poor droid commander high fiving while saying "Nice shot". :(
I'm glad overall star wars animation stays all dark and interesting. Loved this episode best of bad batch
"Peace was never an option"
Cody: “We are not the enemy. The Empire seals to establish peace and order.”
Cody just said a sentence you never wanna hear. “I am from the government, and I’m here to help”
Cody is form the government and here to help.
The whole time I kept worrying: "Crosshair's gonna kill Cody?!"
Dude this episode had no right to be as good as it was. Miles better than season one in just one ep!
This was my fav ep from the show, alongside with 1x14
I swear... Can they let Crosshair finish a damn meal?
Now this is what the Bad Batch should be!! This episode was great!!!
This episode just blew me away with how good it is.
I don't know if Cody appears later in the timeline, but I get the impression that he didn't go AWOL, he was killed for not following orders and Crosshair figured that out at the end really starting his turn back to the good side.
I think he has gone AWOL but he will die likely sadly I think Rex's mission for the batch will be to save Cody from the Empire
I wonder if it’s Crosshair’s chip that activated? Maybe I’m wrong but clearly Cody’s chip isn’t working and Crosshair’s was amplified so I’m assuming if an officer gives an order he must follow it.
WHERE WAS COMMANDER CODY THIS WHOLE DAMN TIME?!
A darker Bad Batch…like Andor
i think Crosshair took the shot so Cody didnt have to or suffer anymore consequence for not obaying the order letting him walk away with what honer he has left intact even if its only in his mind
Such a great episode 🔥🔥🔥🤘🏻
I think the Empire might have killed Commander Cody and covered it up by saying he went awol.
This felt like the clone wars finale tone wise. Same quietness and music
Amazing Episode !
Way better than the opening episodes and a number of the episodes in Season 1. Hopefully this is a good sign of things to come.
Nice to see that Cody get a bit of a redemption.
