Seems a lot of languages do that. Japan changed the numbers as well.

could be 24601 doesn't flow so well in Spanish

DragonEmperorMycen Indeed. In Spanish, 4, 0 and 1 are polysyllabic (cua-tro, ce-ro, u-no), so the melody doesn't quite work. Some Spanish versions translate it as 24602 for some reason, though.
