- Hey friends! Today I am sharing a much needed perfume declutter. And yes, I will be sharing a current updated perfume collection in the coming weeks or two, so stay tuned! I recently went through my collection in anticipation of filming that collection video and realized that there were several fragrances that I really have not actively reached for in the recent past. As someone with a larger collection, I try to be mindful of what I am using and not using. I am also trying to be care of what what I bring in. These fragrances, while lovely I think will find a home elsewhere where they can be enjoyed and used on a regular basis.

Many years ago, when I was in junior high, I was highly influenced by the Chanel No5 advertising. I wanted it so badly but had never actually tried it on before. It seemed so elegant and adult. For Christmas, my grandma bought me the biggest bottle and I sprayed it on immediately after opening.
It gave me an instant headache and I became so nauseous. I didn't want to disappoint my sweet grandma, so i powered through the rest of Christmas before scrubbing it off my arm. I learned the hard way to always try a perfume on first and not get sucked into fancy advertising 😅
LOL, that's a great story! How sweet of your grandma to buy you such a lux gift!
Oh I LOVE Floral Marshmallow! Wearing it today actually. It’s a dupe of Killian Love Don’t Be Shy😊. Cody complimented me on yesterday & was like, “You smell GOOD!” Stella will have so much fun with your cast offs 😂
She had a blast going through them. The Bitter Peach dupe was promptly returned to me lol! But she also loves the Floral Marshmallow. She was so excited to get that one!
Also love Floral Marshmallow! It’s a great love don’t be shy dupe. I couldn’t give that one up. It’s actually the only one that I know which dupe it is by name instead of having to sniff for it. The Dossier names are too similar to each other and always confuse me. 🥰🤣

I took your advice and started buying the travel sizes to try out. Excellent idea! If I love it then I'll buy the full size bottle. I look for sales on those though. So sweet that you can give them to your daughter 💕

Isn't it crazy how our scent preferences can change? I also declutter fragrance based on this strange occurrence. Versace Dylan Blue, Dior Poison Girl, Calvin Klein Escape, and several others are now almost nauseating to me, yet still smell great on other people. 🤷How nice that you can share with Stella, girlfriends, & family. I do the same for the most part.
My 14-yr-old son and his friends are into personal fragrance, too…and not the typical Axe spray. They love going to Sephora to sample and he’s growing a collection of high-end colognes. Teens these days!😅

Recently, I have bought (finally) Vanilla 28 from Kayali, full size, since I love vanilla fragrances but this was an instant regret 😢. Didn't smell any vanilla or sugar and something was very much off-putting for me. Fortunately, my friend enjoys it.
Oh goodness. I had the same experience with this fragrance. Fortunately, I bought the smallest size offered and have one more use. To get through it, I mix it with a sweeter vanilla like Ariana Grande mod vanilla or Pacifica silver moon.

I kept the Lychee one from Kayali, although I don't love it but at least it's the small bottle so will check what I can mix it with👍.
Oh no! I actually enjoy that one! But I do tend to use it as a mixer often times.
I use to buy so many different perfumes then it got overwhelming to me so I declutter and gave some to my 15 yr old daughter since she’s now getting into them. I’m happy to say I have 5 full size bottles and I’m satisfied

I love patchouli. Even dirty, depends on what it’s blended with though. But my very favorite of all time was Comme des garçons luxe patchouli. I’m heartbroken they discontinued it! I REALLY need to declutter. I think fragrance has taken over every nook and cranny in my makeup room…..I partly blame you….at least that’s what I tell my husband😜😂
I'll take the blame! He can call me about it. I'll distract him with pug talk.

I love Marc Jacobs Daisy so that Dossier Floral Violet sounds like a winner to me! I'm actually gravitating back to lighter, fresher scents the older I get. Also, I moved to the PNW from Florida several years ago and wearing fragrance is very common in Florida. Here in the PNW, so many of my friends seem to complain when anyone wears fragrance. Not just me, anyone. Mind you, they are not allergic, they just don't like fragrance apparently. They consider it rude when people wear fragrance because someone MIGHT be allergic or sensitive. Is that just a PNW mindset? Curious to know your opinion. Do I just need new friends lol?
Haha! Oh, your girl here got called into HR once when I was working for a college for wearing perfume. It was a very Oregon thing to happen to me lol! I am as big of a tree hugger as the next guy around here but I wear my perfume every day and make no apologies. I don't overdo it when I go out in public, I do believe in being respectful but as I currently work from home... without any office mates, I'm gonna smell like a million buck whenever I damn well feel like it haha! Again, I believe in being respectful but I am not going to avoid using what I love because someone doesn't like the fact that its perfume. They can get out of line behind me and go to the next register.
@@MrKongsMom OMG I'm so glad it's not just me!! This kind of stuff never happens back east. Not that I want to move back to Florida though. Because I'm a tree hugger too lol. I'm much happier here. I think I will adopt your approach!
The full size I regret purchasing is flowerbomb midnight. I felt the patchouli was too strong and I think the black currant smelled off on me.

I don’t really declutter…I have sold a bottle or two on Poshmark that I regretted buying as backups though. I figured if I hadn’t opened them from their packaging after a couple years and are only 1/2 way through the opened version, it’s got to go. I’ve only bought backups a few times, but I’m going to not do it period in the future. I’m in my “no backups” era for makeup, fragrance, and candles. Lol. 😂
Probably an era we should all enter lol.
My favorite perfume of all time - Lauren by Ralph Lauren. Got my first bottle in 1992 at age 16, went through four bottles. They discontinued it in 2012.

I'm upset about Miss Dior Cherie. They have ruined it... such a bummer!
I graduated in 1990 and this was my perfume all through high school! I wish they’d bring it back because I’ve never smelled anything similar since!
@nicolebusse5734 I don’t understand it. They still sell the first Ralph Lauren men’s cologne. Polo, so why in tarnation they got rid of the first women’s perfume is beyond me. And you’re right, I’ve never smelled anything else like it. I’ve even emailed headquarters several times begging them to bring it back 😂
I just counted I have 10 perfumes, only use 3 or 4 ever. The others are so old I wouldn't give them away even if I knew someone who would like. I'm thinking I can just pour them down the sink or toilet since they are water + scent chemicals that are safe for skin obviously, but maybe someone will set me straight.
You know, in all honesty I have never discarded a full perfume. I wouldn't even know how to do that properly lol.
@@MrKongsMom I almost wish I hadn't looked into it, but many sources say perfume has to be disposed of as a hazardous waste. I'm kind of upset that what we put on our skin and what we inhale is considered that 😢 so I just might bury my head in the sand a bit.
