The north and south Llano rivers meet in junction. I grew up in and live here. Yes it is very beautiful and it is a quiet town ,very small. We like it that way. Virtually no crime. Great place to raise kids very safe.

That place sucks. I still have a warrant from when I was 17 there. They found a roach and told me they think I was trafficking lol

They have a whole scam that they profit off of out of towners giving them bs traffic tickets to help the economy 🤨

That's pretty much all of texas lol. Same thing happened to me. Almost went to jail for like half a gram worth of weed

When I was growing up in Austin in the 70’s and 80’s, Junction was always mentioned in weather on local news and all throughout the year, it was always cooler, almost like the panhandle. Even in the summer lows would be in the 60’s or even 50’s. I thought it would be a great place to live in the wintertime and figured they got snow at least once or twice a year.
Bottom line, would this be a good place to retire in my 60’s 5-6 years from now? Maybe maintain my home in Alaska and have Junction as a winter home?

The hill country in general is slightly cooler than austin/san antonio at night and in the winter but not by much. During the day it's just as hot as anywhere in texas. Still, if you're going to texas i don't think you can beat the beauty of the hill country. If you really wanna get in the hills check out towns like leakey, campwood, concan

@@nomaderic I grew up in Austin and the Hill Country was never what you’ve mentioned that was more near San Antonio. That’s a beautiful part as well with Lost Maples. To me as a kid it was Burnet, Marble Falls, Llano, and even San Saba where my grandparents lived.

My sister used to live there in the early 80's. So it is being quite a few years since I've been there. While watching this video, I tried to see if that restaurant called Isaac's was still there, cuz I do remember eating at a restaurant by that name back then.

Also noticed there was a Texan Movie Theater there. There used to be one of those in Hamilton TX. Don't know if it's still there.

I drove 1-10 from CA to FL and this stretch between El Paso and San Antonio was my least favorite. I hated the terrain from Ft. Stockton to San Antonio. It's interesting to hear how much you two enjoy it, thanks for sharing it!
