    Brother Paul is a revert and alhumdulillah he is someone who studies and reads books of knowledge a lot. I think this is one of those incidents where he may have erred but I'm willing to think that he's open to discussion on this as he does seem genuine in his desire to seek the truth. May Allah guide us all ameen

      Thats not the point of this video , the point of this video is whether ibn taymiyyah believed otherwise ,and the answer is no. Seems like this john hoover guy and people like him created doubts in yasir qadhis mind. Should never listen to these western academics on islam. Brother paul has tendancy to site books by western accademics a little too much , should be careful with what he sites

    As Salamu Alejkum brother. Who marked that book as highly disputed? Which scholars?
    I see Yasir qadhi is maybe also using it as his reference to say IT believed hellfire is not eternal.
    And how come ibnul qayyim never mentioned that book? It did exist in his time or no? Lol

    If Shaykhul Islam didn’t state his own view, then how come scholars like Imam as San’aani and Shaykh al Albani refuted him on this issue and denounced some his quotes in this book? Can you explain this as it’s really confused me.

    • @abuzaidchnl
      @abuzaidchnl  Год назад

      I think that Shaykh Al-Albani pointed out the opinion of Ibn ul-qayyim that there are two hellfires, one for the disbelievers and one for the sinners of the Muslims and that the one that will be destroyed is the latter. I believe Al-Albani attributes this view also to Ibn Taymiyyah and it is acceptable.

    • @ProudSunniMuslim
      @ProudSunniMuslim Год назад

      @@abuzaidchnl Sh al Albani said this in his intro to Imam San’aani’s refutation:
      "So how could Ibn Taymiyyah say:
      "If he willed eternal punishment then there's no mercy to be found therein at all"
      As if mercy according to him will not be just unless it includes the kuffar, the punished ones the Tagheen?! Isn't this the clearest proof of ibn Taymiyyah's mistake? And the mistake of he who followed to push this as correct in this dangerous issue!? May Allah have mercy on them both!”
      and al Albani said:
      Ibn al-Qayyim has a second opinion according to which Hellfire will never end. Ibn Taymiyya has a book refuting those who say Jannah and Jahannam will cease to exist. At that time [20 years ago] I thought that Ibn Taymiyyah shared this second opinion of Ibn al-Qayyim. The author al-San`ani, with what he has quoted from Ibn al-Qayyim, explains that the above mentioned refutation [written by Ibn Taymiyya] is not against those who say Hellfire will end, but it is against the jahmis who say Paradise will cease to exist and he [Ibn Taymiyya] states that Hell will cease to exist. Moreover, he does not state only this, but states also that the people of Hell will enter paradises with rivers flowing under them after Hell ceases to exist."
      This is what I was referring to. Did Shaykh al Albani and Imam San’aani misread Shaykhul Islam’s work?

    • @abuzaidchnl
      @abuzaidchnl  Год назад

      Shaykh Al-Albani didn’t attribute the work to Ibn Taymiyyah, he’s probably referring to the few pages he found of the manuscript. As for As-San’ani, he’s refuting the position and I don’t see any reference to Ibn Taymiyyah, he’s most likely referring to Ibn Qayyim.
      What it comes down to is that Ibn Taymiyyah clearly outlined that there is a consensus, so how can he contradict elsewhere? How can he have a position agreeing with the Jahmiyyah when he mentioned it being incorrect and a jahmi position?
      What’s apparent is that this whole issue revolves around Ibn Qayyim and not Ibn Taymiyyah. He discusses the position in detail in multiple works but eventually takes the position of Ahlu Sunnah.
