This is an edit of the national anthem of Korea used by the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea from 1919 to 1948 that I edited on Audacity by speeding it up a little bit. It was titled "Aegukga (애국가 / The Patriotic Song)" and sung to the tune of the Scottish folk song "Auld Lang Syne". As a disclaimer I am still showing respect of the anthem while I wrote down the original Korean text at the bottom so you can sing along with it. I just think this remix I made sounds great and liked the way it turned out.

the tunes are very similar, how did you get the idea?
It was while reading the Wikipedia article on the South Korean anthem (Aegukga) that one of the earlier versions was sung to the tune of "Auld Lang Syne".

But japan takes korea in 1905
Japan actually made Korea as its protectorate in 1905; they didn't annex it completely five years later. And the Korean anthem that was sung to the tune of "Auld Lang Syne" which was introduced by western missionaries wasn't composed until 1919.
In 1910.

하나님이 맞습니다. 우리나라 민족은 하늘의 신인 환웅의 아버지, 즉 환인, 환인님이라고 많이 했죠. 환인님이 지금의 하나님이 된것입니다.

Hahahaha. Korean copied the traditional Auld Lang Syne. They did not have a tune of their own. LOL.
Korea had its own national anthem until 1910 when Japanese took its sovereignty away, and Koreans were forced to sing Japanese national anthem. Korean people, however, resisted against the Japanese occupation, and they knew they needed to have national anthem, but they only have lyrics and the former anthem wasn't popular enough to be sung by general people. So, they made a new one putting the lyrics on the rythm of Auld Lang Syne, because it was quite common at the time to hear Auld Lang Syne at the end of the year or during the graduation ceremony. Many people sang this anthem until the late 1940's when it was replaced with the current one.
And Korean have their own tune now, don't worry :-)
German Empire used Britain's National song. and also we were using that song during the war. there aren't any conductor in shanghai korean government dude. and also korea doesn't have national song. all korean national songs are not official song.
