Very cool to be able to see how rugged these plants look in habitat. I especially like the species where you can clearly see the Fibonacci-spiral in the areole pattern.

We are so lucky to have East Coast Comanchee be able to visit these habitats and show us the beauty and resilience of these highly specialized plants. In his videos, you're able to see the conditions these plants are growing within in their natural environment, thus giving us growers on the horticultural side a much better understanding of these plants needs for soil, light, and exposure to the sun.

Amazing that the plants hang on such brittle soil, that echeverria looks quite beautiful, even tilandsias growing, thanks for sharing!!!

At both the Strombocactus and Aztekium sites the plants were difficult to see as the poachers had removed nearly everything up to 16 feet from the ground as that was the height of the ladders they used. And I was there 30-40 years ago.

That’s very sad. I’m happy to report that the sites I went to see aztekium were private land and there were plenty specimen even low to the ground. Only us collectors can turn the tide on this devastation 💪🏽

Hello. Can most cacti grow in limestone soil as they grow in gypsum soil?

These cactus look like small discs/buttons attached to d rock wall! If u don't know wat to look for, u can easily overlook them as their colour is as dusty greyish as their environment! 😂Agree, it's like an adventure 'discovering' them!
