Great video as always! Really enjoyed the wrists shots and macro videography! Would love to one day be able to get you one of our watches to check out! Hope all is well on your end and happy holidays! All the best, Ben
Ben I very much appreciate your kind comment! And thank you for extending an opportunity for a collaboration- I would be happy to support fellow microbrands where possible
I really enjoyed your smooth narration and glossy like presentation in this video. The watch is beautiful... my dream watch is a UG Polerouter micro-rotor but I am afraid of servicing and getting parts for it. This Baltic may a good compromise!
Servicing costs would likely be the same for either model as they're both microrotor movements. When it comes to parts availability, I've never heard of watchmakers being able to get the parts for Chinese movements, but maybe they can if they can get a hold of the factory. More likely, you'll be buying a brand new movement and just replacing the entire thing. So whilst, yeah, you probably can keep the Baltic running, it will quickly become cost prohibitive, and you won't really have something as collectible as a Polerouter at the end of the day. I'd argue saving up and getting a good condition Polerouter, and keeping it going for as long as possible, even if it dies beyond servicing/repair, you can probably still get an ok sum of money back as a parts donor watch especially if it's in otherwise good condition. If the Baltic dies, then you'll probably pay around half of the value of the watch to service/repair it, and the resale on dead Baltics won't be great. Of course, maybe gold Baltics in running condition, or even as parts, will become highly collectible in the distant future, so you could roll the dice on that.
Excellent review as always David 👏 I think these three watches work really well with the gold coating. For dress watches I would prefer to keep the hesalite.
Just pulled the trigger on this. Hesitated for a long time for the same reasons as most, lack of sapphire and Chinese movement massive red flags. Puzzling considering Baltic’s other offerings in the same price range do include sapphire and Japanese movements. That said I understand they have an extra step of quality control, and at the end of the day I love the aesthetic of the watch and the extra attention to finishing details, and the micro rotor will be unique technology amongst my collection. I hope it meets my expectations. Kind of sad it loses the sand textured dial of the other variants (honestly think I could have gone any way and been good to go) but I trust they had their reasons not to. May exchange for silver still undecided .
The flat bezel never worked for me with the salmon dial, (haven't really seen the silver dial version being spruiked anywhere) but this gold version really has my attention. That said, the price is steep for something with a Chinese movement. Not that I'm saying they're bad, just that I can get the same movement at a fraction of the price in other watches, and whilst the design work here is pretty good, is it *that* good? Plus I have no fear of vintage watches, and I can get something in gold fill at the same price and have something with arguably the same accuracy and peace of mind as that Chinese movement. I'm looking at a couple of vintage pieces, and I'm definitely going to buy those long before I consider this Baltic.
If one can confidently find and own equivalent vintage timepieces then that is a really great option too. In fact we are lucky we even have all these alternatives for all levels of enthusiasts to begin with 😀 Thank you for your comment and for watching my video!
Please don’t wind your watch in reverse and put it on the back of your iPhone where there’s a magnet, that’s gonna mess with the accuracy of your watch 😢
Modern movements are more than antimagnetic enough to handle the back of a phone. Measured this one on the timegrapher a consistent 4/s a day so no worries!
It's amazing. The dial and applied numerals are unbelievable. It's such a different watch. I love it.
Great video as always, please keep these watch reviews coming!
Thank you very much for your support and yes there is more on the way!
That liquid like black dial makes this watch so good... Love the gold too. Thanks for putting this video up..will be considering one myself
Glad I could showcase the watch for your consideration!

It’s a great modern watch that somehow feels old in all the right ways 👍

Gorgeous and looks great on your wrist 😍
Great video, thanks for sharing. Watched this a few times, looking to buy one tomorrow in one of their showrooms.

Thank you for watching!
Great Video David!!!! 👌🏼💯
Thank you buddy!

Thank you my good friend- I can go either way with the crystal choice but the hesalite is lovely for the dial

I wonder if they will put out any of their metal bracelets in gold pvd 🤔
I would love to see an intricate beads of rice in gold!

Great video 👨🏻🦲👍🏻
It's an absolutely gorgeous piece and definitely has potential but the crystal choice is a deal breaker for me.
Much appreciated Sean! I can understand that! Vintage appeal aside it would be lovely to have a sapphire option too
No mention of the rotor noise? That's the biggest downside of this watch
