Field Watches Never Looked THIS Good! - Baltic Hermétique Tourer

- I mean, just look at this thing. Tool/field watches don't usually look this good! The new Baltic Hermétique Tourer received much fanfare when it was announced, but now that all the dust has settled, was all that hype warranted?
It feels like this popular microbrand watch brand can do no wrong, but let's take a look at what I think is one of the best GADA/field watches under $1000.
Thanks to @BALTICWatches for loaning me this watch!

Field watch, tool watch, everyday watch. Such labels, much wow.
Now THAT is a watch. What a lovely piece. Almost perfect. The crown seems awkward but the dial scores extra points. It's strange that they did not include a black dial version though don't you think? Excellent review Harvind 😊
Thanks, John! Honestly, I couldn't stop staring at this dial. It really is a sight to behold in the flesh. Come to think of it, you're right. A black dial would make this a cool Explorer/Ranger alternative for a lot of people.
I have seen the black dial as the special coop with a different brand.
Beautiful watch and fantastic review as always. Thank you!
Thanks so much for watching!
Stunning dial, excellent shots, well done.
Thanks as always mate!
Great review, thanks! Do you know how much this weighs btw? With and without the strap?
I have spend a few weeks with mine and I agree with a lot. The crown is very difficult to operate, but it`s very comfortable. It would be optimal if you own a winder, so you don`t need to manually wind it. The case is stunning for me and the profile screams vintage. My other small issue with it is the clasp on the bracelet. It`s stamped and feels "tinny" which is not the case with the rest of the bracelet. As an overall package I feel this is a great offering.
You are spot on about the clasp's outer shell. I missed that in my review. It's strange because their beads of rice bracelet has a milled clasp, so I'm not sure why they went stamped on the flat link bracelet.
This looks fantastic and I absolutely love the size. Nice bracelet to strap transition shot! I think that crown is a deal breaker for me. I love giant, easy to handle crowns!
Thanks, Jason! I'm sure you'd love this as much as I did, but you're right about the crown though. I prefer giant crowns too, that's one of the only gripes I had with this watch. Such a missed opportunity.
Would love to see that comparison! I'm considering both of these.
You got it! I’m working on that comparison video. It should be out mid-January. 😉
Looks great
Got to love that Baltic design language 😍
It’s a stunning watch. Great review as always. Seems like you’re getting Christopher Ward level finishing at half the cost. Of course CW uses Swiss Movements but still. Thanks!
Thanks as always! The dial might give CW a run for their money, but the finishing on CW's case and bracelet is a step above.
That is one beautiful watch! I'm not sure what to think about that crown. I really don't think they needed to go against the grain with that, but it's not a deal breaker either. Personally I'm a big fan of their beads of rice bracelet, so I'd probably go that way. Great review as always brother!
Thanks as always, Dan! I really need to try their BOR bracelet one of these days. I think the crown is a non-issue if this is your everyday watch and you don’t need to wind it all the time. But for people like us who rotate often, it might get annoying.
Thank you for another calm, insightful, balanced, well shot and entertaining video 🙏
Thank you so much for watching! 🙏🏾
Beautiful, I want one. Good show friend!
Thank you! It’s a stunner for sure, you won’t regret it 😉
All hues are stunning, but the beige is my pick.
If I did not already owned a Sinn 556, and wanted to keep some powder dry to purchase a vintage Smith W10, this is a model I would seriously consider. 🇫🇷
You have great taste! The beige is my second favourite, and I own a Sinn 556 too. Good luck hunting for the vintage Smith W10.
So would you recommend the Baltic Hermetique over the Traska Summiteer!?
In a nutshell: go with Baltic if the dial is more important for you, or go with Traska if you're a bracelet guy. I have a head-to-head video of those two coming up in a couple of weeks where I'll go into much more detail.
You always finding gems
Thanks man! Hope to keep them coming.
I like crown design as I'm not a big fan of crown sticking couple of cm out of the watch and digging into my hand.
But for over 740 euros I'm not sure it will be on my shopping list.
Then you're going to love the recessed crown on this one! Give it a couple of months. You might be able to snag one for a good deal on the secondary market.
Waiting for its AliExpress homage, as a good peasant should.
Hahaha, I’d be surprised if we find homages of this on AliExpress.
😂 no doubt.. San martin will release an identical copy for £100..
I would buy it
You and me both ;)
Good looking watch but that weird looking lugs just not working for me 😢wish they was 2mm shorter with curve 😒
I actually like it! It gives the case profile a cool neo-vintage look, but I get that might not be for everyone.
Does it more comfy than explorer
I wish I had an Explorer to compare that for you haha
Lovely watch but to small I a big guy eight inch wrist people come in all sizes why not a baltic watch alot of bigger guys will buy if they can get one in a size they can were like 42 mm
Fair point. More brands should offer their popular models in various sizes, similar to what Christopher Ward does.
It’s Chinese. Enough said. Uggh.
