This is part one of our second Group Therapy Session with inventors Pedro and Darren. We talk about how easy it is to start designing and building your first prototype of your invention ideas.
Using 3D modeling software, we will teach you how to build an actual working prototype of a chair from start to finish. Many people are selling custom made, CNC cut furniture online and you could too! This is just one of many product ideas we will be showing you how to build.
Invention Therapy is the show where we turn your ideas into a reality!
Stop thinking about your idea and start working to make it happen.

Thank you for sharing this video to RUclips...I've learned a ton of info in a few short minutes.
Invaluable !!
This is a great video that shows how utilizing 3D modeling software can assemble a real functioning prototype of a chair from beginning to end.
Thank you. I simply tried to use a simple example of what I saw other people building and selling on the internet. It seemed that a chair would be easy to understand.
Hey there , thank you for such a wonderful video man
Thank you sir for making it that simple.
Great Info. Awesome
wonderful
Well that’s my kind of therapy, therapia means work in ancient greek watching some prerecorded movies is best found myself a new therapie route...
I want to learn how to make prototypes of machines i have. I have sent registered mail which contains sealed designs on paper to myself 35 years ago and now with 3D printers i can see the possibility of making my own prototype. My idea is making wax or foam parts scan them and print them out.
I guess it depends on what you want to use the prototype for. I design and build machines myself. All one-off. Some I literally build by hand myself (I am an engineer that specializes in this though). Others, I design around an existing machine from a China supplier and have them customize to my specifications. I prefer this because it's way easier not to have to reinvent absolutely everything.
For what I use them for, a foam or 3D printed example is of little use to me anyway. An animated CAD model can do that same purpose.
what if you know nothing about technology and have a technology design?
How has it gone? Have to started prototype production
He is running Windows on a Mac.
HE IS RUNNING WINDOWS ON A MAC.
mctwerker parallel
Yeah, you just partition the hard drive.
i usually use 3d paint is that a good program to make 3d models in your opinion
What's if prototype test success or failure?
What if your invention is electronic? Electronical enginers ?
Many of my inventions are electronic. Electronic products can be easy and low cost to manufacture. The prototyping of electronics is also not very expensive.
Most of my inventions are electronic. I use Eagle PCB for many of my circuit board designs.
what if you have a complex machine design, which sketch program do you suggest
I do complex stuff including complete automobiles in Solidworks. It is actually the easiest of the all 3D design programs to learn in my opinion.
I'll second Solidworks.
Invention therapy!! Just came across your channel, Great demo & info. I have several ideas, but dont know how to proceed. I would appreciate your guidance, do you have an email address for subscribers?
Right now, I do everything via the RUclips channel so be sure to subscribe.
how much it will cost me if i asked someone to made a video of 30 seconds 3 d animations ,?
What is your idea is to enhance or modify a product already on the market or adding two products together to make a new product
It doesn’t matter what the base components are. You still have to make a working prototype if you plan on getting anywhere with your idea. As I say in the classes, ideas have no value. Its those of us that can create working products that have the best chance of succeeding as inventors. Nothing wrong with reverse engineering other products. Companies and people do it every day.
Invention Therapy thanks for the advice, I was not sure
I want to create a new type of band aid. I have the drawing and specs; I need a prototype made can one help me? I been lost and would appreciate help.
Just buy the raw material and make it yourself brother. Good luck. Take that pencil and scissor out and get started.
You should be able to send those specs to a bandaid factory overseas and have them make samples for very cheap.
When you guys run out of ideas let me know, we can be BILLIONAIRES. It's not easy to launch a great idea and real frustrating.... hitting a wall.
Everyone has good/great ideas. An idea really doesn't have value in this modern world. The hard part is knowing what to do in order to monetize that idea by turning it into a reality. More often than not, it is better to try to build your own prototype rather than spending time and money on patents, etc. Once the prototype is built, you can then decide how to proceed. That's the way I do things but each person's approach might be different.
Invention Therapy is patent really important before getting them into production?
@@InventionTherapy totally agreed
Watch out for invent help they will take your idea and give you shit.
This is exactly why we created the Invention Therapy channel. There is no need to go to one of those invention help companies that simply make empty promises. Most of the time, you can build and market inventions on your own.
what software can i use to learn this?
