Unfortunately they will NEVER make cars like this design again. Imo, this is the ultimate Sedan design. Not extremely small and uncomfortable, but instead long, spacious, and rides like driving on clouds. The only downside to these Land Yachts are the gas mileage. They need V8’s to move them, and if they used 4 Cylinders, they would need to be turbocharged. I’d say they need to bring back the ultimate design like this in newer cars, and certain people can purchase these and make them affordable. I feel like the sales would benefit them to people who still like the design of these old cars, as car enthusiasts love these older cars.
I loved the interior and dash of the 67-68 Chrysler first time I looked at one. They are the last dashes that didn't look "plasticy". "Plasticy" started 69 model year for C bodies. Grills started getting more plasticy in 69, too.
Blue interior is a good color. It looks faded to green though. I notice you have the tilt/telescopic column. Very rare on a Newport. You can see the big star at the center of the steering wheel that you unscrew with your hand to move the wheel forward or backwards.
Looks like a 383 to me. But it does look like a Dana 60. Given that the stock rear end is an 8 3/4, which is really good, I wonder why the Dana. Did you notice the deep pan on the trans? I'd like to see more of this car.
Just was wishing !!! That cars most likely what you stated. Those big boats didn’t come with Dana 60’s … that option code was for cars 426 HEMI 440 -6 Barrel and 6 pack cars.
Only thing I would change. Well, two things: 1: Change that intake manifold. A single plane sounds cool on the curb, but it will run like ass doing anything but racing. A dual plane is WAY better for street driving, and it lowers the carburetor down. 2: Air filter. 14 inch chrome air cleaner is better than nothing at all. Other than that, car is amazing. When Mopars were worth something.
Brings back memories of my late uncle's '68 Newport & '67 Newport Custom that I once owned, both 383 big block cars. On a side note, if the owner is looking for an AM radio, I do have a couple of them. Cheers.
I like the full length system with crossover and turn downs, but I would have picked quieter mufflers. The great thing about a big block is having no noise, but a rumble at idle that you don't have with a small block.
Off topic, but I wish they still made cars that look like this

@@Peculiarsafe83 Yeah they would make crazy amount of sales
@@RUclipsChanneIAbsolutely they would sell like hotcakes
You are not sneaking from the house in that car. 😁
thats the point
😂😂😂
I can smell the fumes coming off that thing through my screen. That’s the smell of freedom.
i honestly liked open headers more
TTI is the best in the business with classic mopar exhaust.

Decent system except for the turbo mufflers it came with. They've been known to flow like molasses.
That’s horseshit😂
Sounds amazing ….those clamps holding the turndown tips looks terrible 😞
Back when Chrysler was worth owning.
Shouldn't have left the exhaust clamps hanging like that in the back. Maybe turn them upside down or just weld it
They couldn't fit their impact if they were upside down. And having the hackaddicts use a wrench or ratchet/socket would confuse them for life! 🤣
@@BobSmith-mc7uq they should use a wrench if an impact don’t work… lol. Love the car tho
@@BobSmith-mc7uq yaa need a 15mm ratcheting wrench lol
Agreed. I would have just dumped over the axle.
That car is rare.
383 or 440. Sounds mean!
Sound of a 340, 326, &440 Mopar powerplant is amazing 68 Newport what huge car luv stance aswell.
340 is IMO the best sounding mopar ever made
Please tell me y'all took the air cleaner off for that engine shot and it drove there with one on
Nothing like a BIG mopar
Bad ass 440 , 727 Torqueflight and a Dana 60 !!! You know that old MOPAR rips !!! Super clean underneath.

Cam hittin' a lick! Dad bought mom a new '68 Newport then a '72. Fine and fast!
I can’t be the only one who preferred the stock sound better
Ryan would be proud
Should of used v band clamps. Mufflers didnt seem to do much, lol
Mopar all the way!
Sounds really great, but wish there was a takeoff of it at the end

I'd add that the car needs a carb with a choke.
Have you installed a pair of flowmasters 40 series and a pair of glasspack together??
I second that! Use the glass packs as resonators just before the tips.
It sounds way better before. Personal preference. Some like choppy, some prefer cleaner tones.
What an awesome car, gotta love when it’s mint underneath
The Chrysler C bodies could have run against the Chevrolet B bodies including the Impala SS back in the 60’s
Awww... no drive away?😢
Probably trailered in with open headers.
The cam in the car sounds pretty aggressive I like that anytime you can hear it actually chug then a Gallop yeah it's good
Damn thing barely even fit in the garage😂😂😂
The sweet sound of a big block Mopar 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Like open headers better
What is the engine
No take off???

As someone who was humbly born and was a kid in the 1990s, my hat goes off to this classic.
Should of went with ultra flo at least, big blocks need room for exhaust flow
I would have swapped those mufflers for something else and had the tips welded on, but damn it sounds good!
🤩absolutely gorgeous open headers idle🤩
nice car I got a 69 Newport 383 2 door 🤘🏻
much better than before
Hello i was wondering how much would it cost to make it Straight up/remove muffler i got the resonator off already
I have a civic lx 2012
🔥🔥🔥‼️
No need for dual 3 inch system for a 383, but that is a matter of taste. How much do those systems go for?
I like the full length system with crossover and turn downs, but I would have picked quieter mufflers. The great thing about a big block is having no noise, but a rumble at idle that you don't have with a small block.
That sounds like crap !
