Am I the only one that prefer not to have the display always on? What so hard to just flick your wrist to see the time? Don't you have to do that any ways on any watch you wear?
imagine being in a meeting or in a social situation where it would be rude to do the gesture to watch the time and instead you just glance at it and see the time. Or if you're execercising or you have your hands busy carrying something and you're not able to do the full gesture to wake the screen up...
It's not really always on. The watch face goes into a minimalist face which gives you just the time. The power usage from displays is from turning pixels on. So if you turn on a very small amount it doesn't drain the battery as much. They also apparently slow down the refresh rate to further save the battery.
Mario Sabljakovic if you’re ever in that situation, you’re most likely better off not knowing the time. It helps you stay in that moment and remain focused.

First, you tell us how one can hardly tell the difference between the Series 3 screen size and the series 5 then you start telling us why the series 5 screen size is better. AND you didn't even address the big question everyone has, how does the battery life of the always-on series 5 compare to the 3 and 4?
I agree with you, if you want always on display get the 5, if not the 3 is good. screen size isn't to noticeable really, and always on kills battery life quicker :-)
I recently bought an apple watch 3 series. I'm not about to buy the series 5. I thought 199 was a good price. It was an upgrade from series 1. I don't use all of its features but I like it
The only reason the series 3 is the next option is because the series 4 is too close in specs. For the first time I am not upgrading my watch. Always on screen isn’t enough.
I have series 2 watch, now the series 6 is here the series 5 will be cheaper so i will get a series 5 & keep that for years. The 44mm full screen is big difference along with the always on display & brighter screen.
Have the series 3 and it’s great. If you’re buying think two years from now. Which would you like to have and will it keep up. I rarely recommend the lower model. Having said this the 3 remains a great watch for me after a year of ownership and I’m challenged to upgrade to the 5. I’ll likely upgrade to the “6” but by buying new tech I’ve had two great years of ownership. Just my humble opinion.
I'm still on a series 2, and no issues with it at all, but I'm thinking of going to the 5 for the always on display. I realize this may be frivolous, but I'm still on 2!
Thanks for a good and thorough review. I am still using the original 2015 watch, with max OS of 4 for this model. Happy with it except the battery is a little weaker now. If the battery goes, I will go with the series 3 aluminum case to save money. Currently mine is stainless steel at a substantial expense in 2015. Looks nicer, but will go cheaper when the time comes.
i was having a hard time choosing between the two, but i went with the series 3. not much of an upgrade from my series 0, but that poor watch had such little battery life and it was slow as heck
in my personal opinion the savings i get on the series 3 is much more worth it than the additional features i'm lacking with series 5. if i were to compare the series 1 and series 3 on the other hand, then definitely yes i would go with the upgrade because of the performance drop i'm getting with the series 1. Series 3 works just great, everything is smooth. cheapest smart watch i can get that allows me to use apple pay, answer calls, read notifications, respond to messages, respond to MFA all without even needing to use my iPhone.
How much more improved (if that is English haha) is the optical sensor on the series 5 over the series 3? I thought by reading the specs the series 5 had an electrical sensor for HB, but now that i'm learning more on it, it seems the "electrical" sensor is only for EKG which I don't need. If the electrical sensor is also for the HB monitoring for all the apps, that would be useful information to know, but if it's only optical sensor for the series 5 as it is for the series 3, what is the performance (accuracy) difference in the two models? Thanks in advanced!
I thin I will take the 3 because it is my first one and also I ve seen some rumors that the next ones could have Blood Sugar Monitoring on Board; what would be for me, the One Thing that I will be ready to spend 500+$ just to get that !
I absolutely loved my series 3 watch until the battery died. Now I can’t decide what to do. Meaning should I replace it or buy another. The battery lasted exactly 2 years. What is that $150 a year. Way too much.
Series 3 prices now are absolutely unbeatable and Apple doesn't make products that don't work almost flawlessly, the Series 5 is for people that want to say they got the newest watch unless they actually want to use the few features that aren't available on the Series 3.
The series 5 is good and has more watch faces then the series 4 but there’s been a lot of complaints about battery life on series 5, I have a 42mm series 3 with LTE and does well for me, I’d probably get the series 4 LTE in 44mm as lots of good reviews
I upgraded from the series 3, the series 3 is great and does everything and more for your everyday lifestyle to your workout routine. however if you are upgrading from a series 2 or 1 I would go all out. coming from a series 3 upgrading to a series 5 there are a lot of noticeable differences, the series 5 feels less bulkier and has what feels like a lot more screen real estate which is a win win. A top tip though to reduce cost however is to upgrade before it has even come out yet, I know it sounds odd. I knew of the series 4 but was waiting for the announcement of the series 5 as I heard about ECG and always on, at the time the series 3 was selling for £279 at just a year old. I decided to sell my series 3 early in the hopes to save a little bit more money when the new one came out. I sold the series 3 for £190 on eBay about a month before the announcement of the series 5 meaning I could get a bigger discount. roll on a month and apple had dropped the price of a new one to £199 and doing some sifting on eBay people were struggling to sell them for £120. I do this with my iPhones too and it works.
Has anyone bought the series 3 and wish they went with the 5? Or vice versa? Always on display doesn’t phase me. I have a fitbit versa 2 but Im finding it pretty boring. I have an iphone so I was thinking of making the switch to Apple Watch.
Can someone answer my question is series 3 good ? and can you give me some good qualities I looking to buy one but I’m confused if I want series 5 or 3 because all these comments say that series 3 is better
Personal opinion, I love my series 3 and would still buy it today. It's half the price of the series 5 and in my mind the only feature I'm really missing out on is an always on display. A lot of the changes from S3 to S4 to S5 are more niche ones like fall detection (I'm 30 not 60), a compass (use your phone or learn how to do it from a watch face or nature!), decibel meter (phone app...)
You obviously put allot of thought and delivery into this review , well done , you nailed it

I don't use all of its features but I like it
What’s the battery life difference?
The only reason the series 3 is the next option is because the series 4 is too close in specs. For the first time I am not upgrading my watch. Always on screen isn’t enough.
I have the iwatch 4 love mine! Pretty much the same as 5 but missing a few things!! But hey buy what makes you happy I feel🎈
Dave Lemke lmao im not sure if that balloon was supposed to replace the word IT but thats how i read it and if it was THAT WAS VERY SMOOTH SIR 😆
Did you just say iwatch
I have series 2 watch, now the series 6 is here the series 5 will be cheaper so i will get a series 5 & keep that for years. The 44mm full screen is big difference along with the always on display & brighter screen.
I wouldn’t mind just sticking to the series 3. The addition features on the series 5 doesn’t matter to me much.
Chris Laidlaw What would you recommend me to buy now ? 3 or 5?
I have a series 1 from 2015, so I think the upgrade to the 5 will 100% be worth the money
in my personal opinion the savings i get on the series 3 is much more worth it than the additional features i'm lacking with series 5. if i were to compare the series 1 and series 3 on the other hand, then definitely yes i would go with the upgrade because of the performance drop i'm getting with the series 1.
I use ears to know if the sound is loud
Yea, that always on display sold me. I’m going with the 5.
This is the video ive wanted to watch for a while.
I thin I will take the 3 because it is my first one and also I ve seen some rumors that the next ones could have Blood Sugar Monitoring on Board; what would be for me, the One Thing that I will be ready to spend 500+$ just to get that !
What size were you wearing??
Great Video Thanks! Love your presentation :)
This was very helpful. Thank you!
Series 0 still kicking and lasting all day... I’ll wait till it dies to decide which one I want
Bob lmfao omg mine tooo i got it for an unbeatable price 💁🏼♀️
This is killing life alert lmao
@Ivan Alexander lol
I absolutely loved my series 3 watch until the battery died. Now I can’t decide what to do. Meaning should I replace it or buy another. The battery lasted exactly 2 years. What is that $150 a year. Way too much.
Does ECG feature still work on series 3?
No
GOOD REVIEW
Will get this when Apple coming up with series 10.
Series 3 prices now are absolutely unbeatable and Apple doesn't make products that don't work almost flawlessly, the Series 5 is for people that want to say they got the newest watch unless they actually want to use the few features that aren't available on the Series 3.
Great review! Thank you!
Apple watch series 5 really do a EGC? I think that is necessary a equipment more sophisticated to be accurate.
Great review , i'm gonna stay with series 3
5 also has a built in compass
Love it! Good looking
You forgot to mention in the beginning that series 5 also comes in stainless steel.
Thanks for your help staright to the point and elaborateing evrything . 👍🏼
My first Apple Watch is the series 5 and I love it
He sounds like ray Romano
