Both women are amazing artists. I am especially a fan of Lena Vargas’ illustration work, and I first became aware of Emonee through a tutorial she did in collaboration with School of Motion. Good animation not only requires a very specific kind of mind for visualizing and understanding space and time, but also a talent for storytelling, and on top of everything it is daunting, technically complex, and often tedious work. I had always wanted to be better at animation and more fluent in After Effects, and Emonee’s clear tutorial and down-to-earth presentation style gave me the inspiration and confidence I needed to finally get a grip on motion graphics. Not going to be doing work for the Super Bowl anytime soon, but I’m glad talented people like this can do so and share their process and story.
