Yes... as with all liberal arguments... it's generalized emotional rhetoric when praising the show... nothing specific... just like their criticism of the show's detractors... generalized emotional rhetoric used as slander
...and both getting praise for that by the access media as well as from Disney itself... unless you are Gina Carano, made one single questionable tweet, had to undergo a forced sensitivity training ordered by Kathleen Kennedy, and finally got kicked out anyway. Double standards? Noooo, not with Disney, cannot be, they are sooo nice, inclusive and anti-racist 🤣🤣
They have forgoten they make a product. If their product is bad or subpar, their paying customer has all their right not to consume their product. That they attack their own fanbase, is insanity. They alienate people. Business 101: Don't alienate anyone, do not attack anyone, that pushes away customers, potential customers. What I do not get is that the leadership looked at the show and just said: This show is objectivily bad, scrap it. Because some decades ago, all showes had a pliot episode. If the pilot did well the show got a greenlight.
Most fans have understood its not the actors that’s bad but bad script and directing. But the moment the actor opens their mouth and says things so blatantly wrong, yeah screw them.
These people are not being chosen for talent, but political reliability. When I was a kid, I always wondered how the Soviets did that. And modern entertainment is showing us how they did it.
I like to at least give the benefit of doubt for the actors. But yes you can usually tell when the actors are quite bad as well. I’m making sure to be as nice as I can because any wrong sounding way of explaining things they just jump to ‘seee seee the fans are EVIL’
No fans really don't understand that. Because there have been actors in the past that have been harassed because of the characters they play. Hayden Christensen is a perfect example. So isn't Jake Loyd and Ahmed Best.
I'm gayer and more progressive than at least 95% of Hollywood (who cares), but modern media/Disney writing is so embarrassingly dogshit trash I actually believe it's setting shit back a decade
I have said many times if gay is the only thing in their lives they really need to get lives. I don’t give a shot about any of it and think they should just use the chekhovs gum principle. If scissoring doesn’t have any baring on the story I’m the future then there is I reason to foreshadow it. Then again this show is more tell than show.
They actually think they are. Not even kidding. They’re really trying to be teachers. Waltzing into our realm of escape, a place where we can turn our heads away from the world around us.. to try and teach us that the way we view the world is problematic.
To be fair I think this is just how Disney views Star Wars. They create some 'content', slap the Star Wars label on it and expect people to just mindlessly consume product. Quality control seems to be this after thought that can be dealt with post the content being released.
Disney has been a cult Temple of Idealogical Indoctrination since its inception. The forward futurism of Walt's dream communities to fantasy inspired theme park escapism has now been TRANSformed into a dark, hedonistic cult of narcissistic desire and instant gratification of self. This was not accidental, but rather DELIBERATE. Big money, Globalist elites, and powerful corporations are steering the societal ship. But wait... there are whisperings of mutiny from below the decks. A BRICS has breached the hull of the HMS Dollar; The capsizing has begun. The cosmopolitan Bourgeoisie are scrambling for the lifeboats.🛳⛵

I’m a left-leaning (moderate) guy, but the victimhood mindset is out of control. Assuming everyone else has it easy is cringeworthy, and usually rooted in prejudices. And what is it with all the man-bashing and daddy issues in these shows? Do they despise their fathers and brothers?
Yes, yes they do. However in this one I think its more of a hatred of the Jedi and trying to turn them into villains while making the Sith a misunderstood group. With a dash of white man bashing.
@@Senkoau Which.. makes no sense? The Sith Empires are built on the Backs of slaves. They ravage the galaxy for a trivial pursuit of power. Not anything specific just power. Okay but here's my thing then why are you watching them talk about those TV shows when you haven't watched them yourself you shouldn't have an opinion on them then.
All my negative TV shows reviews for Disney on Rotten Tomatoes keep getting removed (Dr Who, She-Hulk, Echo, Secret Invasion), but not for my movies. I have to constantly repost them.
Same here, I've been posting on IMDB since I believe 2007, good, bad, mediocre. The past few years literally all my negative (but well intentioned and nuanced) posts were removed (some with more than a 1500 likes). I rarely gave ones. So (explicit word) 'm !. These days if I don't like it I'm not nuanced anymore, I will not spend a nanosecond of my time on a review and for the first time I'm giving 1s (even when it is worth a 3). That said; this horror show deserves a zero. And my god, how I despise that privileged Amandla brat.
"Have you ever loved a whole show but hated a single episode?" YEP! There was a "Supernatural" episode that was a back-door pilot featuring a bunch of annoying characters in a "found footage" style. My wife and I have binge-watched the entire series numerous times over the years, and that is the single episode we never re-watch.
Aw, I loved the Ghostfaces episode. I didn't like the Bloodlines backdoor pilot, though. It breaks the continuity of how the monsters work in the show and felt like a ripoff of the Originals.
Man, I love the ghost facers. The other one with the bloodline, thankfully cancelled, show backdoor pilot was terrible. At least the ghostfacers were funny and self aware.
As a Star Trek fan, yep. Several TOS episodes, couple of TNG and DS9, but there is this one episode of Voyager we do NOT speak of...with salamanders. Also, loved the first episode with Ghostfacers, the second one not so much. Never watched the web thing.
I loved Ghost Facers! But most of the leviathan arc was boring to me and it’s what initially made me stop watching the show for a few years simply because I have this thing against skipping episodes my first time through. I did eventually finish though. It was worth that terrible arc. The rest of the show was fantastic. That’s allowed, normal even.
@@logicplague For me the absolute worst TNG episode there was was the one where the crew rescued some boys who were raised by aliens or something, and trying to get them to re-assimilate into earth culture. From what I remember, Picard basically had a character arc where he learned that it was important to respect their culture and not force his own onto them---basically re-learning something that had been taken for granted as one of his core moral codes for literally the entire series...

Notice how the article writer does not propose a bigotry-related reason when mentioning the very low ratings of the SW Holiday Special. They don't even attempt any kind of explanation for its low ratings. They know it's bad, they know you know it's bad, and they don't feel obligated to defend it. On the other hand... if the SW Holiday Special had a few more black women in it, maybe it would be an all-time classic right now... beloved the world over by everyone who is not a bad person. That's all it takes, apparently.
That’s what happens when you never hear the word NO, or get any constructive criticism at all. It creates overgrown children who thinking everything they say or do is great.
Speaking as an actor and writer: When you create a piece of art you are INSANE if you think everyone will love it. You are also INSANE if you create a piece of art with the intention to attack or hate your audience. When you create something you do your best to entertain and fulfill your creative need. If people like it, great! If they hate it, well that stinks but you are proud of your work and you know not everyone hates it. You don't write and produce the equivalent of ear rape to try and own your "haters"
The problem with most people these days is that they do not understand the concept of " You have made your sales pitch and it was initially accepted. Now go away before you screw it up."
95% of the time if someone is happy with something they're not going to leave a review they're not going to complain they're going to go about their day but when something is absolutely atrocious or you have really bad service that pisses you off so much 1/4 out of 5 stars and that is why when something sucks like this show and everything else at Disney releases it pisses people off so much when you have a good meal or you like the movie 95% of the time you're not going to bother with me positive reviews it has to be super super amazing for somebody to do a positive review is getting ratio all the way to hell because it sucks ass and there's no amount of fixing it. So it's so bad people are going to go out of their way to leave a bad review because they hate it if it was good they would leave it alone but it's not good and Disney doesn't know how to do anything good, and that's the right Disney is going they're going to be just like Six Flags and go bankrupt and close all of the parts just like Six Flags just did
I spent years in food service. People are 75% more likely to talk about a bad experience at your place than a good one! We were always told to remember that. the average person tells eight people about a bad experience.
I know someone who is a diehard star wars fan. Where I thought book of boba fett sucked and was boring, he was super forgiving and liked it (even gave high marks for the second half because he's a big Mandalorian fan and to him it was Mando season 2.5.). I thought Obi wan was terrible, again, he looked past its faults. I thought Mandalorian season 3 was bad; he enjoyed it. Same for ahsoka. Now that brings me to my point, he made it up to episode 3 of The Acolyte and told me that even he won't watch it because it's that bad. 😂😅 He literally has no interest going further, hates the show, and thinks he's wasting his time. He's said all this. He's like, it's just a bad show. That takes a lot for him to say, especially something star wars related. He also hated The Last Jedi, and mind you, he said that The Last Jedi was the worst thing to ever happen to star wars. He now says this show is tied with The Last Jedi, except he won't even be finishing this show. Disney must now hate this guy or something or would have his review removed. If even your most ardent supporters and biggest fans that toe the line no matter what are saying you've put something out that's crap tier, then maybe, just maybe you have problems in your film/ tv division and you should look inward and reevaluate what's going.
He's more of a fan than me if he could hate what the Last Jedi did to Star Wars and still find something to like out of Book of Boba Fett and Mando S3. I kind of feel bad for him because he's not a Disney shill, he's a true believer who is desperately trying his best not to lose the magic for the franchise... all that vanished for me when they abandoned Luke and broke Mark Hamill's heart.
This show is actually the first Star Wars thing that I honestly dislike. I actually like all of the movies. I dislike some of the things they did with the last few movies, but it isn't enough for me to dislike the movie itself.
I have no problem with people liking trash. Just don’t try to convince me the trash is pearls. I have my trashy shows and movies that I know are bad that I also enjoy because I think it’s fun. I know it’s not a good product, but there’s something about it that makes me laugh.
Did anybody hear that Josh Gad is working with Mel Brooks to make that long awaited sequel to SpaceBalls: The Search For More Money? Oh man, I want this movie so bad, but only if they pulled Rick Moranis kicking and screaming out of retirement to reprise Darth Helmet.
Right? It's impossible to have John Candy reprise Barf, which is bad enough, but if we can't even get Rick Moranis back, I don't see how it would be recognizable as a SpaceBalls movie.
@@DarksideGmss0513 Okay Negative Nelly, I hate everything and the world is a cesspool that needs to be flushed. If it will suck, it will be because that type of satire, the Mel Brooks kind, doesn’t have the same appeal as it once did. Find yourself a hole to shout all your negative feelings into, or get yourself a shrink.
If the score was an inaccurate reflection of how the audience feels then the public discourse would show that. It doesn’t. Literally everyone is either saying it’s shit or disappointing. It’s actually kinda heartwarming to see how every side can come together to agree that the show is garbage. It’s like Velma.
"Because they have put on the lowest amount of effort and the least amount of quality for a show that is majority minority people ethnically...." Exactly my saying. The writers have a so narrow tunnel vision in their mind, that they are unintentionally counter productive to their honorable vision for a fair world. Political (controversial) topics can be handled in many stories but it has to be done right. My personal benchmark test for shows like this are Arcane, Killjoys and the Battlestar Galactica reboot. Those examples have diversity in ethnicity, gay love stories and the last one even gender swap in it. But it fits all organically in the plot, with all the drama and action etc.. Because the writers from those shows did know what they where doing.
“Verifying viewership” makes sense for standalone movies, but in a franchise, a fan who chooses NOT to even watch is a more powerful fact than a fan who watches and disliked it.
Exactly. I’ve been a Star Wars fan and have been seriously invested in the EU (the so-called “Legends”) for decades, yet after Rey’s second movie, I stopped watching Disney’s Star Wars in disgust. If they had respected the lore and the fans, I would have faithfully watched each new installment into the Star Wars universe. It takes a lot to alienate as devoted a fanbase as the one connected to Star Wars to the point that we don’t want to watch anymore. The critics and Disney should be just as concerned - if not more so - that a blockbuster franchise like Star Wars not only is getting low audience scores, but also increasingly lower viewership numbers. Hatred isn’t the opposite of love; apathy is. People may hate-watch something when they can no longer watch something out of pure enjoyment. But the apathetic audience won’t bother to show up at all. Disney has proven time and time again that they don’t respect Star Wars or its fans, and so has made long-time fans disinterested in engaging with Disney’s Star Wars productions. Why give Disney money so they can make more things hate, when we can instead watch people like Critical Drinker, Nerdrotic, Disparu, and Alteori mock Disney’s Star Wars for free?
I find it funny that the expectation is that someone who is verified of owning or having seen a movie or series doesn't have the ability to still review bomb it in either direction.

One example of a show that I love that still has bad episodes would be Star Trek: Voyager. Well, in reality, I've enjoyed all of Voyager, except for one episode. That would be the infamous "Threshold" (Tom Paris turns into a lizard). That was the hardest episode to sit through because of how ridiculous the concept was. I won't spoil it if you haven't seen it, Alteori, because you kinda have to see it to know what I'm talking about. For anyone else in the comments who has seen it, however, you'll know what I'm talking about.

Because it's tantamount to the probable truth. The Joker wanting to watch it all burn is what DEI explicitly wants. All the theory and academia that created DEI as well as those that fund it, are all ideologically driven 'elite' pseudo intellectuals who purposely want to break down current western society. And no one believes it out right until they see it happen to them directly. They just think 'psh nah, why ruin a show? Or an IP? How does that destroy society at all?' Every aspect of a society is attacked by the people who do this kindve shit. It's referred to as The Five Pillars and Star Wars is a hero's journey tale that is a cultural icon of Western Society. So it must be destroyed in their eyes. All of this is inspired hy the likes of Antonio Gramsci's manuscript, which was his addition to Communist theory - Cultural Hegemony He details the five pillars and why they need to be torn down. He explains why attacking Capitalism directly fails and why Marx was wrong to think using the economics angle would work. He suggests instead attack for 5 pillars of western culture to break it down from the inside, demoralizing it, so that the revolutionaries rebuild it culturally from within. Liberalism is detailed in his and others views (such as Stalin and Mao) as being the great rival to Communism, an antidote. To have Communism succeed, he pleads that you must break down the core values of Liberalism, including its culture. That is why this is happening. That is why this is despite constantly losing money. That is why articles from the mouth breathing media feed to flames with gaslighting. Because it's all on purpose and no it isn't all directed like some master overseer is manipulating all things - but it is being motivated by a praxis, similar to how those react or act if they're motivated by religious beliefs.

The sad truth in all this is that the fan base was hurt because they thought they were getting more shows in the universe they love. Instead they get F-tier garbage that is so “inclusive” that it now appeals to know one. I was there when people accepted Star Wars Rebels as a fun show that brought in many fans while still appealing to many (about 40%) of the fan base. That was a success. Disney has moved so far away from their earlier projects. It’s not perfect but the last season of The Clone Wars tv show was probably felt as much of Star Wars as the rest of the show. And Mandolorian was pretty good the first two seasons. And you had the picky people but most were just wanting to know what’s next? Well we are seeing what’s next, we don’t like it, & they are calling “racist, sexist, homophobe” to those who just want a little course correction. A little more subtly in “the message” would be appreciated… we just want stories focused on the universe and long long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. Not witch-topia or Darth Fetish (Smilo Ren). If there needs to be an agenda, just weave it in there smartly. Like the masters of old.
No one i trust on you tube has liked the acolyte and everyone i dont have "positive" reviews laced with caveats. Obviously i am a racist misogynist who only likes other racist misogynist. Got it.
For the sake of fairness, I watched all 4 episodes(!) without the preconception of all the woke drivels & after careful consideration came away with the conclusion that the show is bad because it was - badly made. From unimaginative plotting to shoddy design to uninspired cinematography to cringey action choreography, acting & dialogues. It is amateurish, cheap looking & worst of all. boring.
It bugs me every time I see them training with sticks. What are they going for, cheerleading trials? We see younglings barely out of potty training with light sabres. Force training at a very young age is standard. At best, you might imagine they have a safety setting on them, but when Anakin attacks, he acts like they are a potential threat.
I just hope that the suits at Disney realize "Wait... we like money. We need to listen to the fans." instead of blaming the fans. And yes, review bombing on both sides is NOT constructive.

Profits are a secondary consideration when you're just trying to keep the lights on and the 30 million a year flowing into Bob Iger's bank account. b) Disney is stuffed with DEI hires whose mission is to destroy all the properties that the majority love and remake them in their image. @@GlynRyles No, you are bias cause you don;t like how woke the show is(we all agree with that) and there is thsi tendency to see every non whte actor as 'unqualified' in every woke project.
At bare minimum, a piece of entertainment should have a narrative that makes sense within the world in which the story takes place, and the characters live. It's also nice when the characters look and act like they belong in that world, unless they've been isekai'd, in which case you get a case of Fish Out of Water. But the world itself still has rules that are consistent and makes sense, and forms its own set of logic for the audience. If you know the way the world is supposed to work, then you can figure out how you might act if inserted into this world. That said, it doesn't seem like anyone can ask the writers, directors, or actors to be consistent with what they just showed five minutes ago, let alone with the rest of the show, or the franchise as a whole. If they don't care to keep consistently, and pay respectful homage to what came before, why should fans, especially if they grew up on what came before, care about what they're putting out now? Bad writing is not entertaining or meaningful. It doesn't matter what tags the people acting it check off when the product itself is an unwatchable mess. Which is why I haven't subjected myself to much of Hollywood's offerings since _Endgame_ . They want to burn down these legacy franchises and the companies who own them? They own them, that's their choice. But last laugh's on them: they don't own the cultural history, memory, and experience of those who remember what came before. You know, the stuff with at least mostly consistent writing, that we enjoyed watching, reading, and playing.
"and then when you make yourself a target you get angry when people start to use you for target practice" is a killer line that I've never heard before.😂
there is several points about leaving short negative review: -we're not paid to write reviews. no obligation to write something we don't like in a long-winded essay -there are times we're so emotional, we can only express it in short words, like "f--k", or "surprise, mother---ker" etc. -look at long positive review in many articlesn, they're mostly fluff piece not talking about the things being reviewed anyway. yet they're paid? -lastly, look at short positive review. so many bot-like messages, or copy-paste stuff. edit:-one more, even long constructive reviews, albeit negative, like yours are silenced or mocked. so what's the point of wasting time and effort, especially when you're not paid?

EXCELLENT WORK. AITEORI HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS QUICK ATTACKING THE AUDIENCES AND CUSTOMERS
Nah when it comes to Disney+ the actors are usually also bad. It's why they hired them. Because they've also drunk the kool-aid.
The acting is also subpar, most of the line delivery is terrible

Don't you get it? Watching the acolyte was obligatory. Like homework in school. The creators of this school are scolding us as if they were teachers.
Quality control seems to be this after thought that can be dealt with post the content being released.
hey, teachers, leave them kids alone
Disney has been a cult Temple of Idealogical Indoctrination since its inception.
The forward futurism of Walt's dream communities to fantasy inspired theme park escapism has now been TRANSformed into a dark, hedonistic cult of narcissistic desire and instant gratification of self. This was not accidental, but rather DELIBERATE.

@@logicplague For me the absolute worst TNG episode there was was the one where the crew rescued some boys who were raised by aliens or something, and trying to get them to re-assimilate into earth culture. When you create a piece of art you are INSANE if you think everyone will love it. You are also INSANE if you create a piece of art with the intention to attack or hate your audience.
When you create something you do your best to entertain and fulfill your creative need. If people like it, great! If they hate it, well that stinks but you are proud of your work and you know not everyone hates it.

You know I never thought of it but this Acolyte show is pretty much like that. Nicolas Cage scene:
*OH NO NOT THE BEES NOT THE BEES NO AHHHHH!*
I would watch the ST, Mando S3, book of boba, and ahsoka again. I will not watch Kenobi again and I'll never watch acolyte.
This is the only series I will never rewatch. I will gladly watch all SW media again. Not this one

"Because they have put on the lowest amount of effort and the least amount of quality for a show that is majority minority people ethnically...."
Exactly my saying.
Stop hiring "writers" who hate the source material AND DESPISE the fans.....
Still trust someone who's watched it more than one who hasn't

Alteori’s “joker infiltrating Disney” theory at the end actually made sense. Certainly more than anything Disney is doing.
Or an IP? How does that destroy society at all?'
Every aspect of a society is attacked by the people who do this kindve shit. It's referred to as The Five Pillars and Star Wars is a hero's journey tale that is a cultural icon of Western Society. So it must be destroyed in their eyes.
All of this is inspired hy the likes of Antonio Gramsci's manuscript, which was his addition to Communist theory - Cultural Hegemony
He details the five pillars and why they need to be torn down.

@@MoteofLobross Just a reminder the movie Rey is coming and the director is telling people Rey "Skywalker" is the heart of star wars
They won't
These are all great points! ... As for people disliking the lead actress though.. she DID saaayyy the words in one or more of her interviews that she and the writers were out to 'upset' or 'make white people angry' with this show..... Those were sadly almost her exact words... The people who actually saw that could potentially take that the wrong way or dislike her already for saying such a thing on camera.
As for 'ANOTHER option' that makes sense with them seemingly throwing away Millions of dollars without that money being seen at all in these series productions...... I think we have a new Job for CoffeeZilla here on RUclips to investigate possible MONEY LAUNDERING involving those in the Disney company and its affiliates. o7
I tried watching it & its just terrible.
People that had no business making a StarWars show make a garbage show, audience doesn't like it, it's the audience's fault. Obviously.
Crap writing, crap acting, crap story, it's just crap
The acting was fine, Hayden's acting was terrible.
@@vertigo2894 in your opinion, and that's fine, glad you enjoyed the crappy acting. My opinion, as with many other peoples, the acting was crap.
@@GlynRyles No, you are bias cause you don;t like how woke the show is(we all agree with that) and there is thsi tendency to see every non whte actor as 'unqualified' in every woke project.
That girl just ruined baby-talk whisper rap for everyone..
😂😂😂😂😂 is that what that was?
@@Alteori I can only guess, but your guess is as good as mine. Lol! Whatever it was was just truly unique. I just hope it never catches on.
Preach it Alteori.
"Alteori" apparently translates to "Other Times" lol
Yeah it’s so perfect that the paint on my wall is drying up perfectly 👌
The 14% isn't the lowest they gonna get yet...
That's the way you leave a bad review, that the writers and showrunners are intentionally trying to make these marginalized people look bad.

The way you laughed at the guy getting stung by the bees was too delicious - why are we like this?!
"and then when you make yourself a target you get angry when people start to use you for target practice" is a killer line that I've never heard before.😂
there is several points about leaving short negative review:
-we're not paid to write reviews. no obligation to write something we don't like in a long-winded essay
-there are times we're so emotional, we can only express it in short words, like "f--k", or "surprise, mother---ker" etc.
I am so, so sorry that I criticized Disney undoing the heroics of the rebellion in the first 3 movies, for marginalizing iconic characters, for horrific script writing. I’m sorry I wasn’t quicker to grasp the ideological importance of the MESSAGE. Please take my money and my time so that I may bear witness to the splendor of your woke Mary Sues.
I like the Vader immortal gameplay in the background
They all are measuring with two standards. One for the people that are aligned with them and one for the people that are not with them.
Me as Star-Lord on everyone who is involved with the Acolyte: What is your Goal here? To get everyone to Hate You?, Because it’s Working.
It's not Star Wars, it's some kind of gay Space Balls or something.
the term "the customer is always right" has been greatly misunderstood
no, it does not mean that two 50% off coupons makes !00%
what it really means is that the customer will ALWAYS know what they want, they buy products because they know that product is going to be right for them, and it's the distributors job to make sure that the customers have the least inconvenient time buying the product they want
attacking the fans, and having anti consumer practices is the exact opposite of this and will only hurt a company in the long run
modern lucasfilm is the perfect example of this, sure they get a lot of clout and attention from angering their customers but it results in a product that does not meet company expectations and inevitably fails
the customer is always right, they do not want the Acolyte
Nah, I highly doubt there's a single soul out there that hasn't heard how bad it is, and either watched it themselves or watched someone else break it down.
sometimes review-bombing is just... a lot of people disliked it. and they wanted to voice that.
you use one of the larger IPs in the west, you're gonna get a lot of feedback.
