Using Google to store your contacts can be very handy, especially if you use more than one of their products. If you've just made the switch to iPhone, or would like to use your Google contacts on an iOS device, there's an easy way to get everything in sync.
This will pull your Google contacts right into the Phone or Contacts app within iOS. It will also provide you with "push" for your Gmail account if you have one setup.
If you'd like to sync your Google contacts with iOS, watch the video or follow the steps below:
Step 1: Go into the Settings app on your device.
Step 2: Next, scroll down to "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" and tap on it.
Step 3: Under the "Accounts" section at the top of the screen, tap on the row labeled "Add Account..." On the next screen, tap on "Microsoft Exchange."
Step 4: Fill in your email address, password, and a short description, then tap on "Next" in the top right corner.
Step 4: In the "Server" row, type in "m.google.com" without the quotes. Then, copy and paste your email address, or enter it again in the "Username" row. After you're done with that, tap on "Next" in the top right corner.
Step 5: Finally, select the services you'd like to sync. If you'd only like to sync your contacts, turn off "Mail" and "Calendars." If you leave the "Mail" option enabled, your Gmail account will "push" new messages to your device immediately. When you're done configuring these options, tap on "Save" in the top right corner.
When you open your Phone or Contacts app, your Google contacts will appear in the list. These contacts are now in sync with Google and will update when contacts are added or changed on either end.
