The whole game/show is centered around building relationships with others; you cannot tell me that this show wasn't going to build up to this point. Those who are complaining that this ending was "too cheesy" are missing the point, to be honest.
H3atmiser it's not that the ending is cheesy, it's just that it differs too greatly from previous persona games in that it is far less dark, a change not everyone is comfortable with. I have no problem with Persona 4, I just wish they had continued the story from Persona 3 instead. I still think the ending was great, and the part where ur party members push u out of the way from the final boss's attacks were a nice touch.

Honestly i feel out of all the persona games that Persona 4 was honestly the best because you make friends that are closer to you then they are in the other games and thats literally what the ENTIRE game revolves around and the story was so good i love the game so much.
persona 4 definitely nailed it, but I'd say 'persona 2: Innocent sin' is a close second. There's a clear difference between the fanbase that wants hope and the fanbase that wants death, and I personally think innocent sin captures what persona 4 was going to become perfectly.

Persona specifically is about building up relationships over the course of the year, and fusing new Personas to respond to the challenges presented. In both of these aspects, player choice is a major part of the appeal, and that's not possible in an anime. But even beyond that, it's not possible to significantly build up an entire year's worth of bonding in a 2-cour anime series.

I remember that I was literally standing upright on my chair and cheering for Yu Narukami like his friends. I was like crying in happiness during that Ameno Sagiri fight. Oh my. I cant tell you how emotional I got whenever this song played in the anime. The Ameno Sagiri battle made me cry so much when they were all rooting Yu on! OH THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP! *cries* I love Persona 4 so much, both game and anime. The Persona series is my fave series of games hands down! I've played both Persona 3 [P3P and FES] and Persona 4 [Golden and anime] and both have such amazing stories, anime style, and of course, excellent music. Everything about them, outstanding.

For all the crap the Persona 4 Animation gets, and it's somewhat deserved. This song is the BEST thing to come out of the Persona 4 Animation, that and the Song that plays when Dojima & Nanako rekindle their relationship.
The version that gets the crap that you are talking about is Persona 4 Golden animation. The regular version of Persona 4 anime is amazing and is well received from fans.
As much as Persona 4 gets shizzed on for being "too cheerful", they greatly utilised the main themes of the Persona series, bonds and connections. And for that reason is what makes Persona 4 outshine the others in my perspective. Imo P4 is the top in the series, despite being constantly undervalued by fans for not being as immensely dark as the other instalments.

For all the crap the Persona 4 Animation gets, and it's somewhat deserved. This song is the BEST thing to come out of the Persona 4 Animation, that and the Song that plays when Dojima & Nanako rekindle their relationship.
The version that gets the crap that you are talking about is Persona 4 Golden animation. The regular version of Persona 4 anime is amazing and is well received from fans.

As much as Persona 4 gets shizzed on for being "too cheerful", they greatly utilised the main themes of the Persona series, bonds and connections. And for that reason is what makes Persona 4 outshine the others in my perspective. Imo P4 is the top in the series, despite being constantly undervalued by fans for not being as immensely dark as the other instalments.
