My grandparents lived in Holland while i was growing up. They always left and came down to Kokomo IN to escape the tulip festival because my grandpa hated all the crowds that arrived. LoL. Holland is a nice little town.
The festival is super fun but We can totally see why locals would head out of town that time of year. It's so busy!
That was one of the best vacations my husband and I had but we came on the Michigan side. Absolutely beautiful!
Very underrated part of America!
You should be on Mackinaw Island in August with all of the beautiful flowers. Incredible! The Grand Hotel flowers will nock your socks off.
We visited in May. We will have to go back when summer's in full swing!
my home state and I still make an effort to see Northern Michigan. you've seen a lot more than I have and I lived here my whole life
Oh I really love fudge!!!
When I visited Tasmania, Australia, I tried a number of superior flavoured fudge bars.
I forgot the brand, but it was all artisan made & family owned/operated. Excellent fudge it was & I have always wished to go back, even if just to buy & eat that delicious fudge again!
I must say, your tried & tested fudge varieties look pretty awesome & yummy too!
That's a great location, specifically as the main street is lined with varying fudge shops & all filled with so many choices & colours! Very cool indeed!
I also like that you can watch staff creating/preparing the fudge, then selling it direct to the public.
I also love the sampling (provided it's performed in a very hygienic manner), as that's a great way to know what's worth buying more of & what's not.
In ref to cutting into fudge being satisfying, I do agree & I also love working with soft dough. There's something so satisfyingly therapeutic, about both fudge & fresh dough!
Great video! I go to lake Michigan a few times every year. However lake Superior is most gorgeous lake among all the Great lakes.
I'm doing this road trip next love the Open space and the lake
TY,Michigan.
Excellent video of Michigan
Thanks Mark!
You did a tour of the towns around Lake Michigan and didn't go to mind-blowing Saugatuck!? That's literally the best town in the Midwest. Really missed the jewel of Lake Michigan. Also, you missed so many cool places in WI like Door County, the Cape Cod of the Midwest!! Art galleries, hiking trails, lighthouses - more to do than just drink beer!
This is true, however in our defense we had a 6 week old newborn with us and it was the first time we had gotten out of the house to do anything fun in many months
TY.
I did this trip. Started in Chicago my home.
I was there recently and found Michigan very very beautiful. Real Estate expensive though!
Love Lake Michigan excpet for the Alewife fish when they die off, wash on shore, and stink it up.
TY,Illinois.
*PLEASE NOTE* that the windmill was BROUGHT to Michigan in 1964. But was originally built in 1761!!
There’s also a Danish windmill in Elk Horn Iowa. Interestingly it also claims to be America’s only authentic working Danish windmill.
You skipped Pentwater, Ludington and Manistee. All beautiful lakeside towns to hit between Grand Haven and Traverse City if you do this tour again.
I came from Australia from Sydney and would add Benton Harbour, Saugatauk and Benton Harbour all the way to Machinaw Island.
Thanks for the suggestion!
South Haven too.
I'm from Grand Haven and Muskegon and man those places in Grand Haven are some of the worse places to stop just a FYI if you do it next time
How did you get to Arch Rock? Did you rent bikes because there are no cars?
Walked but you can rent bikes
Mackinac Island is actually in lake Huron
We are going to be work campers up in Mackinaw City this summer. My question is: did you gain weight on this trip? 😮 there is so much yummy food along the way.
We always try to walk it off!
Should have tried Muldoons Pasties when you were in Munising
West Coast of the lower penninsula all the way up to Mackinac is the best
Baraga Michigan check it out and lanse beautiful place and good people crime is kinda bad but everything else is good
TY, Indiana.
TY
I was excited to see this video, but, couldn’t take more of your faces guys, nothing wrong with them, but it isn’t what I was looking for.
Cool thanks for letting us know
Why even bother telling them? They are just a young couple enjoying their time together. I personally found it to be a great travel video. 😊
Watching people eat . Yuck
