"One heck of a ritual right there". As always, we appreciate your honest and thorough review, Nick. Thanks for taking the time to check it out and post.
I wish you guys made better knives and had better customer service because I used to be a collector of your Knives. CRKT got me into collecting knives. I broke the tip off my CRKT Shrill the day I got it by dropping it no more than a few inches on to a WOODEN TABLE while putting some oil on the blade. You guys said you'd replace it if I paid for the shipping which I believe you all said was $8.00? Which I think is crap to be honest. I don't make a whole lot of money. I make $12.00 an hour, why should I the broke consumer have to pay $8.00 shipping for multi million dollar companies mistake? Especially after I just spent what was it like $70.00 plus tax and SHIPPING so like $80.00 on a knife that I was going to rely on to protect my life. I shouldn't have to pay anything at all to get it fixed especially for a manufacturing error. It shouldn't have even broken from such light impact considering you advertise it as a "Tactical" self defense knife which was made for piercing. This was an obvious manufacturing error. And the service rep I spoke with was rude and insinuated that I wasn't telling the truth. When I asked to speak to her supervisor she got frustrated towards me and wouldn't transfer me to one. She said that he/she would say the same thing she did and basically told me I was SOL if I didn't want to pay the shipping. When I asked for her employee ID # and first name she said and I quote "thanks for choosing CRKT" and hung up on me. And no I wasn't yelling or cursing so no excuse for that. And I bought a mossback hunter after that. I thought 3in fixed baled with SK5 steel, nice attractive blue wood design G-10 scales and it only $25.00 bucks how bad could it be? Really bad apparently! The fit and finish was TRASH! One of the scales was noticably darker than the other by a big margin and there was a huge gap between the g-10 scales and the tang of the knife. If I looked straight down on the tang of the knife, I could see my floor between that gap. I could fit a toothpick in the gap. I didn't even bother calling y'all after my last experience with your customer service. Yeah you guys aren't my favorite knife company. Infact I think you guys are taking advantage of new collectors with your esthetically pleasing designs and sticking the consumer with garbage because they don't know any better. I don't care how cool your knives may look. Your quality control and customer service are garbage. Even if your product is budget friendly it should still look and function as advertised. And if it doesn't you should eat the cost not me. You have some really interesting/innovative cool designs but you're product is garbage. You're the Kel Tec of the knife world and that's not a compliment. I sold all of my CRKT knives and will never buy from y'all again.

Been EDCing a Ritual around the kitchen for about six months and it has become my favorite all around knife. The novelty and glee factor have been discussed quite a lot among blade bros (extremely deservedly so), but all that insanity has a lot of sneaky unique utility in the kitchen, specifically charcuterie. The oversized belly leading into the extremely fine point makes the Ritual perfect for a quick shot of slicing produce and processed meats, or shaving hard cheese (in small batches of course). When I do carry the Ritual outside of the house, despite its large size it's not uncomfortable or obtrusive in the pocket. And I really like that if I did have to use the Ritual for self defense I would not necessarily have to deploy the blade, as it's absolutely beefy and ergonomic enough to use as a cudgel. The blue steel wears away in a clean square at the edges and honestly looks cooler when it does.
Nick, quick fun note on legality of blade size/design: In Russia and many post-Soviet countries long blade can be considered as "weapon" but if the tip is above top line of the blade more than 5 mm then it is not a "weapon" it is special utility knife. Kind of like you can't do piercing hits with it. Therefore, very popular knife design Pchuck is now everywhere, with "Persian" upswept blade type. So this one can be a good carry option there.
I think it was smart to go with Sandvik steel for this knife. 12c is a very tough stainless, and it will make it less likely that you'll snap that tip. What would have been better? Maybe 14c, but not really because you sacrifice toughness for marginally better edge retention.
My main gripe with CRKT is the use of budget steel on very nice designs. I was going to say, "garbage steel," but that's taking things a bit too far. Regardless, CRKT continues to damage its reputation by putting low-level steel on some really nice knives. Rant over. I was impressed by the overall fit and finish of this knife. It didn't feel cheap.

Y'all keep - rightly! - comparing this to several examples of this genre of fun, ridiculously huge knives from CS. No disagreement. But I gotta tell youse.... my first instinct was that this thing picks up the cloak dropped by Spyderco when the 100 Pacer was discontinued...! The 'ugly' part kinda speaks for itself with this one.
I good pocket knife for fishing 🎣
This is everything that 12 year old me cared about in a pocket knife
If Greenley from Boondock Saints was a knife guy
"big and Jackassy". Exactly what I want if I have to walk down a dark alley.
This guy is hilarious. Subbed.
I mean, come on.... a knife named for a legendary krait indigenous to Taiwan? Yes please! :-)
Looks like the red headed step child to the ZT 0460
Because we all secretly love mall ninja ish.
sheeeez, that knife is just...IDK, unique I guess. Takes a certain person to carry that thing around. The novelty is fun though
I'm that certain person
@@The4cp lol do u dual wield >?
I seen this and thought it would be a perfect pirate knife xD my only question is "is it good though...?" Probably going to get one, give the blade cerakote, dye the micarta... Could be fun. xD
Nice reverse karambit you got there nick..... 😂😂😂
Am I the only one who sees the only knife that is more phallic than the norseman?
This handle just screams it. Lol.
The skin colored micarta doesn’t help
I liked it when it was first called the Cold Steel Scimitar then second time it was called the CS Talwar...who cares if you can take it apart.
If I'm carrying a knife for the smile factor I will carry my spiderco Yojimbo
Nick "the blade on this guy is hehehe~"
Me "hehehe~"
Dig the blade! But that handle is just a little.... uh.... phallic 😂
XD "big firkin knife" LOL
Seems like a knife a modern Dothraki khal would be into 😁
coldsteel espada xl's smaller sorta cool cousin.
I could see buying one of these *just* to open mail.
To me it's a novelty knife. I don't know why you want a tip like that other then if looks cool
That's a big freakin knife.
Modified drop point
I like playing with mine. Why? Not sure.
that thing is a scimitar
You don't cut with this knife, you slash with it.
This is one of those knives that are not very practical and I have a fair amount of other knives that are waaaay more useful.
I still want one and I don't care!
