Its crazy a lot of people can’t get the benefit because too many people are trying to apply at once. Sometimes it won’t let u apply and sometimes it stalls so bad u have to try again. Two people that I know are having problems applying for it. The government needs to do something so that the website can handle the amount of traffic going thru.

Try living on ssi max benefit is 800 dollars a month. That's from all sources like a work injury settlement and social. Then complain. Some of us have to live on that due to the way ssi\sad was set up. Workmans comp stalled me 4 years before dropping me. I apply social security goes back 10 quarters to get ssd. 4 years is 16 quarters so it show now work during that time frame thus stuck with ssi till 62 while others that didn't have workman comp fight them got ssd and they settlement. I can't even have life insurance policy to bury my ass when I pass.
So let me get this straight. People that are laid off get all of their original paycheck and a extra 600 bucks a week. People that are stuck working making barely anything and having to work long hours dont get anything. Just the 600 is almost twice as much as I make in a week. 600 bucks a week is a lot that's ridiculous. Noone will want to go back to work they will be making more money not working.
From what I was reading every state gets to choose to allow unemployment for gig workers, that is appalling since I live in Florida and I doubt our govenor will agree to give government money to anyone he doesn't have to.
You need that additional unemployment cause the system has alway been behind time in some states the state benefit only 275 can you imagine the struggles trying to pay rent, utilities,cable and a car note and food off this much less if you have a kid.
Just stay home, I do this it helps! Make a list of things you need form the store, if you get to 20 things on your list. Then glove up, face mask on hair up in a super tight bun if you have long hair. Or hat that you don’t care about and can bleach. Take extra gloves if you can bring a zip bag to put your old gloves in because you can wash them and disinfect them so we’re not taking form out hospitals, don’t touch or take face mask off till you get home and to to ur front door, then take it off leave outside with your groceries get some wipes or a rage with bleach wipe everything down, take fruit and vegetables and out in ISO’s and hot water I always out a little bleach let soak die a few minutes Mx then rinse, them make it a cold water and drip all back in to the water and let sit to take out the soap and stuff if any is left behind been doing it for many many years m fine I’m 33 with cystic fibrosis I got this, then everything I wiped and then out in my house and I mean like it was outside I wiped them I out inside my house on my clean floor or had someone inside to hand it to and let it all dry, pop, waters pizza boxes bag of chips everything gets wiped down before going in to the house no matter how small or big and I get in to all the grooves and it all period you bake to be OC you just do! People are dying just google New York it’s sad and I don’t want to be the cause of anyone getting sick so I stay as clean and OC as possible. I’m a super freak at this point! Do that you’ll be fine don’t forget to wipe down your car inside and out with wipes that have bleach and or disinfect in it. And the outside door handles in the car and your home! Anything your hands grab on too Amir can wiped down. And my point is don’t leave you home unless you need at least 20 things in a list, wait till you do! Make it worth it to go to the store. People are going in and out there house still for like 4-5 things that’s not a need it’s a problem! Tell your friends tell your family, out on their fridges paper to make a list and add things too everyday and when you finally get to at least 20-25 things you definitely need in your home, then take you ur list and go! And be cautious and stay 8-10 feet away from people I have CF and I know 6 feet isn’t enough 8-10 is better! A long grocery aisle length is the best measure away from people, we have to stop the spread. If your in aisle ask that person to wait till your done and go out the out her end. Don’t be scared to speak up and tell someone hey wait I’m almost done give me sec! Your life is on the line! Speak up.... but do it with a mask on too! And don’t be scared to tell other people please cover your face it’s serious out her and people have children they go home too after they leave the stores. And please don’t bring you kids to the grocery store right now it’s just not the place for them to be. You need for be in and out and not let anyone get close to you. I work at the hospital on a per-diem basis. I worked full time until I became pregnant in 2018. I normally still work 30-40hrs/week but my daughters daycare closed due to low census because of COVID-19. I haven’t been to work in the past two weeks and I do not know when I will be able to return. I applied for unemployment (On the basis of reduced hours due to school closure) and was approved, but I still have to wait for my jobs response to my claim. I did not take an official leave because everything is still so up in the air and I have a lot of flexibility with my work schedule. I am only required to work 1 shift in a months time to keep my job. My question is, what is the likelihood that my job would be able to contest my claim because of my per-diem status? I live in Michigan.

The day you should file is based on the first letter of your last name. Last names starting with A - F, file on Monday. Last names starting with G - N, file on Tuesday. Last names starting with O - Z, file on Wednesday. If you missed your filing day, file on Thursday, Friday or Saturday. Filing later in the week will not delay your payments or affect the date of your claim; all claims are effective on the Monday of the week in which they are filed. It’s a nightmare.

Have not been able to certify each week because my Pin needs to be reset. However, need to go into Career Center, but they're closed and, obviously, no phone calls or emails returned with guidance.
In Ohio you have to reset your pin on the phone between 8a-5p. You must choose option to reset pin. Sometimes your on hold for a while. Me I was for 1hr last time. You'll get a live person that will verify your info. Then she will reset pin thru email I provided when applied. The live person can ONLY help w/pin nothing else.
I live in Ohio and I am currently receiving short term disability which is only 80% of my pay. While I was collecting my job downsized right around the coronas time. When I go back to work I will only have three shifts a week as opposed to five. Question one is am I entitled to collect anything to compensate the 20% I lost or can I collect anything on the federal or state and to make up the difference to compensate? I was injured at work mid February and was just released today to go back to work and during that time I was given a limited but helpful workers comp. Now that I’ve been released to go back to work my employer told me he’s closed and I will have to rely on the benefit you’re talking about with unemployment. I have three children In my former wife and myself and I don’t know how I’m going to survive. It’s almost impossible to get a hold of somebody in unemployment on the phone or get answers online and it may be months before we get any type of answer regardless of payment or assistance. Yes, there is a 13 week extension as part of this bill and it includes the $600 bump. Many states are implementing their own extensions on top of that one too.

It says "Important information notice" it goes on saying " you must follow the instructions below before any benefits can be issued to you". Just stay home, I do this it helps!
Make a list of things you need form the store, if you get to 20 things on your list. Then glove up, face mask on hair up in a super tight bun if you have long hair. Or hat that you don’t care about and can bleach. Take extra gloves if you can bring a zip bag to put your old gloves in because you can wash them and disinfect them so we’re not taking form out hospitals, don’t touch or take face mask off till you get home and to to ur front door, then take it off leave outside with your groceries get some wipes or a rage with bleach wipe everything down, take fruit and vegetables and out in ISO’s and hot water I always out a little bleach let soak die a few minutes Mx then rinse, them make it a cold water and drip all back in to the water and let sit to take out the soap and stuff if any is left behind been doing it for many many years m fine I’m 33 with cystic fibrosis I got this, then everything I wiped and then out in my house and I mean like it was outside I wiped them I out inside my house on my clean floor or had someone inside to hand it to and let it all dry, pop, waters pizza boxes bag of chips everything gets wiped down before going in to the house no matter how small or big and I get in to all the grooves and it all period you bake to be OC you just do! People are dying just google New York it’s sad and I don’t want to be the cause of anyone getting sick so I stay as clean and OC as possible. I’m a super freak at this point! Do that you’ll be fine don’t forget to wipe down your car inside and out with wipes that have bleach and or disinfect in it. And the outside door handles in the car and your home! Anything your hands grab on too Amir can wiped down. And my point is don’t leave you home unless you need at least 20 things in a list, wait till you do! Make it worth it to go to the store. People are going in and out there house still for like 4-5 things that’s not a need it’s a problem! Tell your friends tell your family, out on their fridges paper to make a list and add things too everyday and when you finally get to at least 20-25 things you definitely need in your home, then take you ur list and go! And be cautious and stay 8-10 feet away from people I have CF and I know 6 feet isn’t enough 8-10 is better! A long grocery aisle length is the best measure away from people, we have to stop the spread. If your in aisle ask that person to wait till your done and go out the out her end. Don’t be scared to speak up and tell someone hey wait I’m almost done give me sec! Your life is on the line! Speak up.... but do it with a mask on too! And don’t be scared to tell other people please cover your face it’s serious out her and people have children they go home too after they leave the stores. And please don’t bring you kids to the grocery store right now it’s just not the place for them to be. You need for be in and out and not let anyone get close to you. God bless everyone and be safe and OC clean out here so we can get through this together and faster! Tell everyone ...... if you go outside just for a walk wear gloves, mask or cover no matter what, and bring wipes with bleach or disinfect ok them with you. Always !!!!!! I work at the hospital on a per-diem basis. I worked full time until I became pregnant in 2018. I normally still work 30-40hrs/week but my daughters daycare closed due to low census because of COVID-19. I haven’t been to work in the past two weeks and I do not know when I will be able to return. I applied for unemployment (On the basis of reduced hours due to school closure) and was approved, but I still have to wait for my jobs response to my claim. I did not take an official leave because everything is still so up in the air and I have a lot of flexibility with my work schedule. I am only required to work 1 shift in a months time to keep my job. My question is, what is the likelihood that my job would be able to contest my claim because of my per-diem status? I live in Michigan.

Filing later in the week will not delay your payments or affect the date of your claim; all claims are effective on the Monday of the week in which they are filed. It’s a nightmare.

In Ohio you have to reset your pin on the phone between 8a-5p. You must choose option to reset pin. Sometimes your on hold for a while. Me I was for 1hr last time. You'll get a live person that will verify your info. Then she will reset pin thru email I provided when applied. The live person can ONLY help w/pin nothing else.

I live in Ohio and I am currently receiving short term disability which is only 80% of my pay. While I was collecting my job downsized right around the coronas time. When I go back to work I will only have three shifts a week as opposed to five. Question one is am I entitled to collect anything to compensate the 20% I lost or can I collect anything on the federal or state and to make up the difference to compensate? I was injured at work mid February and was just released today to go back to work and during that time I was given a limited but helpful workers comp. Now that I’ve been released to go back to work my employer told me he’s closed and I will have to rely on the benefit you’re talking about with unemployment. I have three children In my former wife and myself and I don’t know how I’m going to survive. It’s almost impossible to get a hold of somebody in unemployment on the phone or get answers online and it may be months before we get any type of answer regardless of payment or assistance. I don’t wanna hand out, I earn my money and I am willing to pay it back. That’s my pride but I need to support myself and my children and it’s frustrating to wait so long. Wow, after reading that I really sound selfish after thinking of all the people that have been Infected or passed from this disease. I’m sorry. Any assistance that someone could direct me on how to do this correctly in Wisconsin would be grateful so I could help my family and others around me. God bless all of you and stay safe and healthy.

I'm not sure about us additional $600 a week because some states say that they are not aware of any additional money than what you get from your regular unemployment. I have received two payments for my unemployment which were about $137 each that are sitting in a bank somewhere because they had not send my debit card yet. I have called and emailed constantly and no one has returned my call to tell me where it is and when I can get it. I know what I made a month and giving me only $137 a week does not pay my rent and I'm taking about a $2,000 monthly cut in pay. I have been hired part time yesterday and have an option to choose how much i want to work.
My question is:
1. When will i be ineligible for the state benefit ($290)? After making more then $290 per week or $504 per week (max for NY)?
2. This question is related to the first one. If i make more then $290 or $504 will i be ineligible for the additional $600 as well?
I am asking this because i do need the money but also would need to use NYC subway to get to work which is not safe at all at the moment.

Dalibor Tolicki you shouldn’t have been hired for part time, you have to report how much you made and they’ll deduct some of your unemployment.
You still get the 600 regardless though.
What about unemployment benefits extensions for people who were already unemployed receiving benefits before the Virus and the benefits ran out, how do you apply for a benefits extension? When does this retroactive money kick in?
This is what I read, "If you’ve exhausted your benefits, eligible workers can generally reapply. But how much you get and for how long depends on the state where you worked. Everyone gets at least another 13 weeks, along with the extra $600 payment through July 31."
Good video, thanks for the info.. so question, my wife applied for UI benefits because her job closed due to the virus but the state said she didn’t make enough to get paid UI benefits.. so when the states get the money, will she get the original $0 from the state and then $600 from the fed government through the state? URGENT! Now the Kansas UI website won't recognize my PIN! Even though I set up the acct on 3/26/2020, got my benefit letter, been in & out of it, and successfully filed my week ending 4/4/20 with the SAME PIN! Yes, there is a 13 week extension as part of this bill and it includes the $600 bump. Many states are implementing their own extensions on top of that one too.

I got fired from work on February 1st for a violation. My apartment complex basis my rent of my income, but I had to wait almost a month to received a letter from my job to give my landlord. I've been looking for work since but due to what's going on all over no one is hiring right now. My question would I qualify for unemployment?
Check with your states unemployment site. But usually you won't qualify if you got fired for violation.

It says "Important information notice" it goes on saying " you must follow the instructions below before any benefits can be issued to you". My wife was laid off on the 15th of March, due to the outbreak. She applied, and was denied, because she didn't work enough quarters.
Keep checking for updates on your states unemployment site. Some States still haven't updated for the new changes yet

She was laid off on the 15th, filed on the 16th of march. She only got the denial paper in on Wednesday, April 1st.

I have been let go of my two jobs (full-time and part-time). My full time job is paying me severance pay until the end of April. My part-time job didn’t offer any pay, my schedule was immediately cut and I got no additional pay (almost one month). So, I have a few questions: 1 - Can I apply for unemployment benefits while receiving severance pay from my full-time job? 2 - Also, if not, can I apply for unemployment benefits due to my part-time job loss? 3 - Or this is going to affect my legibility when I’m ready to apply for unemployment because of my full-time job loss? Even if you live at home, tell them you pay rent, utilities and they will most likely give you foodstamps, along with unemployment.

So just a FYI, I owed taxes and the IRS took my Fed refund due to I owed a balance. So the stimulus deferral on payments won't stop them from taking your refund.
That makes sense I think, the federal refund isn't protected, but the same shouldn't happen with your stimulus. At least that is what they have said.

Dirk Diggler , yes they re- passed the CARES ACT, that allowing self employed, independent contractors, etc..... to file for unemployment. as long as your income was affect by the COVID19. You can apply for. I’m self employed and my claim was accepted. Good Luck

in TX, they ask if your Employer is still paying you. This effects the amount you are eligible for (unemployment), but should not effect your Stim check..

What if you pay back taxes ? The banking information that we use to pay taxes with will be the one the IRS will send the money to or is that even considered as banking info that they need to issue a stimulus to me ??
For the stimulus check the IRS is building a site to update your banking info. Not sure how long they will take

What if you were already on unemployment but got hired for a job. The virus19 . Do I need to tell them that . Or do they automatically sign you up?
You do qualify if your still working if only if your regular hours are reduced due to pandemic my daughter qualified and she still working

How does this apply if we got our hours cut in half? And can we take advantage of the extra $600 if our hours got cut only?
