  • I needed to lower my gear lever on my 2023 R1250GS (Rallye Frame) after lowering the pegs. Not too many choices out there as it happens. Unless you know better?

Sure beats a pair of channel locks, like I used one time back in the 80’s

Those should work fine! To make them look like the original finish, you could smooth all the tool marks out and have them glass beaded.
It's great that you found the solution no matter where it's made. 👍👍

Mmmhh, sounds like far too much effort TTRGUY! I might possibly spray paint them black to cover it up or I could just let them get a layer of dirt to disguise the blemishes! 😊

Got my fender extender, rear shock guard (still failed though), side stand extender, brake/clutch covers from China. Got my headlight guard from the UK on ebay. Saved a packet. Not sure about those footpegs

My foot pegs are Wunderlich, not cheap. The gear lever Aluminium could be lower quality than usual (difficult to tell) but the section is thick enough to last and there is no real pressure on it. I think it will be fine.

As a matter of interest, how did you adjust the brake pedal without losing the free play? I've just bought the Wunderlich adjustable gear lever, this also has gearing adjustment to change the feel when wearing clunky adventure style boots. I also have the lowered pegs.

I did a video on the install of the Wunderlich lowering pegs along with the adjustment. I managed to easily adjust the brake pedal down with the adjuster after pulling the rubber boot back and have a small amount of free play. I have zero binding and my rear disk is always cool at the end of a ride so definitely no binding.

I'm a cheapskate also I bought a hugger from china for my r1200 gs its now been on my r1250 gs so some 70 k miles for £29.00 at the time European companies charging £149.00 and probably get it made in China. As an experienced motorcycle person you know what works and what doesn't at a price and quality, after all where is BMW's parallel twins made !!!. Regards Robert
