A truly wonderful atmospheric video. Beautiful colours around the falls even though it is winter. Thank you for making the video. It puts a happy smile on my face during lockdown.
It is so lovely to be out and about with you Andrew and Dougall. , I have missed our drives out together , scenery stunning as usual , and the Falls amazing in full flow , so thrilling to see , this lockdown is definitely having an effect on my mental health , trying to keep occupied and looking forward to Spring , hugs , stay safe .
I love following along on your journeys, some of which I’ve travelled many a time, therefore relive some wonderful memories. The footage of Rogie Falls was stunning. Just when I thought it was going to be a video without seeing Dougal, you didn’t disappoint. Stay safe.
Thank you Andrew for showing this as a reminder. I recently lived on the Black Isle and many times passed Rogie Falls on my photographic journeys to the west coast. Of course I have photographed the falls and at many points further west of the Black Water, photos on my Facebook page. I really miss the scenery now living in Norfolk, but hope to return to live there one day. Unfortunately then no dashcams or a drone to add to a video, only an HD camcorder on a tripod mounted in the passenger seat area of my old RangeRover. But the best part was being able to negotiate shallow waters to get to places where most photographers never went. Like going off road at Bealach Na Ba summit and up to the radio mast for an even more fantastic view of Raasay and the Cullins for more dramatic photos.
Apologies for forgetting to add a map of the route. If you go to Google Maps and type in the route from Inverness to Uig Pier in Skye via Rogie Falls, you'll get the route we took :)
What a beautifully crafted video of precious places on earth. A gift to see on a cold wet late morning in Austin Texas, seeing places I’ve visited and loved again! I’m so sorry that everyone there is experiencing lock down again. The visual images and music you choose to accompany them lift hearts and spirits wherever we are....grateful to you , and Dougal of course! so much! Stay safe and well!🌎💗
Thx Andrew for this nice trip on Scottish soil and seas. And passing Loch Dougal made it perfect😉. Enjoy decorating the house, it’s getting along nicely.A big smile to Dougal from my Two Belgian Tervueren shepherds. ( they smile.🙃) 👋👊
Me and wendy both think, there is something relaxing about watch you drive around, always great vlogs to watch. Thanks for the time and effort you put in to show us
When we were in Scotland in 2018 we spent two nights in Beauty a drove to Gairloch/Poleewe. I we only knew that beautiful spot. Thanks for sharing! Beautiful! Greetings from Germany
Hi Andrew brings back memories when I use to live at Porknockie, I use to drive to Inverness quite often. Now living on the edge of Dartmoor, still a beautiful part of the UK, but I do miss Scotland. I look forward to visiting the highlands again hopefully not too long. Thank you for your beautiful video.
Another great trip, loved the colours of the woodland around the Rogie Fall and the great drone footage under the foot bridge just cheered me up in this lockdown. Looking forward to the next video. Stay safe and take care,
Hi Andrew thank you for this lovely trip, just what is needed right now. Outstanding as always, loved Rogie Falls Drone footage. Lots of love to you & Dougal ❤️❤️ xx
What a fantastic road trip vlog. Especially enjoyed the mix of music and sights as you were losing the daylight at around 10.00. Brilliant. More please.
Hi Andrew, stunning video as ever - rain or shine Scotland is so beautiful, this was a lovely way for me to *virtually* get out of the house. Hope all is going well with your health. All the best
The waterfalls were absolutely stunning, I love waterfalls I did a walk round Ingleton falls a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. 👍🏴🏴🏴🏴👍🏴🏴🏴🏴👍👍
Beautifully filmed, a true master of camera work! Thanks for allowing us to join your journey. Currently unable to leave my caravan due to shielding, your blogs are a balm for the soul! Looking forward to more videos and am waiting with baited breath. Lovely to see Dougal the wonder dog, bless him. Kind regards Sue
Never been to the Outer Hebrides so all the footage was interesting. This USA beach-dweller misses the short time I spent in Scotland. Look forward to more of your amazing videos!
Hi, thank you for another wonderful video. Absolutely breathtaking views at the falls & the surrounding places such a privilege to see such wonders. Happy decorating & let’s hope it won’t be too long before we can get out & about again. Cuddles for Dougal.....he doesn’t need to smile..he’s a star ⭐️ 🐶. Best wishes take care 🌻
That was a nice wee visit. Thanks. It must feel soooo good to be going home to the outer Hebrides... I loved the drone shots of the Rogie Falls. Fantastic. The blue waters and the neutral coloured trees. Fab. Loch Dougal!
Watched it, loved it, awesome 😁! Rogie Falls look lovely, but that ferry crossing brought back some bad memories for me 🤪🤢! Take care Andrew and keep powering on with the decorating- it will look great when finished. Stephen 😁👍🏴⛴
Thank you for showing Rogie Falls. We scattered my Dads ashes there from his Small Holding in Teandalloch near Beauly and bought back some lovely memories of places he loved and used to take us too XX Nice to see you doing some DIY but I think you got some paint on that Skerryvore hoodie, sacrilege XX
Really beautiful shots of the falls. Reminded me a bit of the Corrieshalloch falls. Never been to Rogie though - will have to stop there the next time we’re allowed out!!
Made me alternately dance with joy (and the music!) and shed some tears of longing. Hope that you are a good sailor! Does it make you feel all funny inside that that journey out to the Isles is your journey home? Thank you Andrew for yet another delightful film. No doubt Dougal cheered up at tea time........Here's to freedom sometime this year....
Just had a wee greet. Cannot wait to go see my ma in the Black Isle when we are in control of the plague. The view of the Beinn as you come down the Leanaig 🥰
Lovely trip, but I was all settled in for a bit of DIY! It would be nice to see ur home, or garden. Right back to the trip,,, thankyou, oh, hope the docs, was OK.
Haha, I didn't even know Dougal has his own Loch. What a beautiful trip. Hope everything's OK up there. Best wishes and thumbs up (as well as fingers crossed ;-)) for the decorating.
Thank you ever so much for this. I used to spend a lot of time in a very old cottage in a place called Acknasole (I may not have the correct spelling there, it's been a lot of years) near Jemimaville, as a kid, and we'd regularly visit Rogie Falls. I fell in clambering on those rocks just in front of the falls, I was perhaps seven or maybe eight. If you're in that area again, you might want to check out (and I'm probably butchering the spelling here) Loch Achilty, it's gorgeous. You've brought back some very fond memories, I really miss Scotland.
's funny when heading to Uist and Harris in March 2013 with a friend, we were driving through the Highlands and she said 'I wonder if people ever stop SEEING this place?' It's something I'm mindful of every time I do it :)
Really lovely shots of Rogie Falls always cheers me up. It looked extremely cold though, Dougal didn't look impressed with you being away. Can't wait to be let out so that I can resume trips to Scotland !!!!
So respectful, Gaelic and then english captions, I have strong Native Anishinabe / Chippewa cultural heritage ....membership and there is immense strength in and at all costs and in-spite of challenge.... to keep your Language alive...if you ever get to Montana, you too Dougal....know you have an appreciative viewer....thank you
I remember the first video that I ever saw was the one when you had stayed at Culloden moor site and then were hoping to have time to walk to Rogie falls but had to catch the ferry from Ullapool and had a surprise Hebridean magic meeting with Karla and Stephen. Must admit to falling in love with the beautiful scenery ( and Dougal of course) Enjoyed today’s drive and missing so much of a happier time of freedom to travel. Have fun with the decorating and putting your stamp on your home. Bye for now from a power failure Suffolk 🕯Keep safe love to you both xx
brought back such fond memories of our visit back in 2012, BTW, your music is spot on too. Had us tapping our toes the whole time. We also visited Corrieshalloch Gorge National Nature Reserve and enjoyed that crazy suspension bridge. thanks for sharing.
Sorry late to the comments! School at home for 2 strong willed (they’ll go far, whether I survive it sane is another matter) boys + trying to keep a brain powered business afloat = near total chaos. Bless Dougal he’s got the hump as he didn’t get to visit Loch Dougal (this time) even if he did have fun with his friends! Hope you’re feeling back on form after the trip, best wishes. Wonderful relaxing video thank you :)
watched a video about your migraines, having two of my children suffer with this, I know it is horrific. My sympathies to you suffering through with this. I hope 2021 will be a year virtually pain free from this. I have no idea how people do it. Watching and trying to help my daughter go through one is so helpless to me. Have tried every home remedy possible, medication does not seem to help. So to all the good people struggling with this, I pray this is a year of some freedom from pain. To all from Canada best regards from Liebe,(German for love) and Sharon
Hello Andrew. A delightful video. The Rogie Falls are stunning, I would love to see that. I have see so many of your videos now, I think I could find my way there. Still hoping for a visit this year. Lovely to see Dougal. Best wishes. ilona
There was something about the falls and music that reminded me of the Tom Cruise movie Oblivion....maybe it was the tranquility in a messed up world. Another good video with cracking scenery and music....keep it up
Thank you so much Andrew. What a wonderful journey. About 4 years ago I dropped my coach passengers in Inverness for the train journey to Kyle. I then drove the coach empty to pick them up at Kyle station following the route you took!! I admit I had my heart in my mouth on the single track sections of the A832 from Garve to Kyle, a beautiful road but not a good route for a coach!! Happy 2021 to you and Dougal. Here is hoping we can beat this virus soon so we can return to the Islands.
Lovely trip. We took our caravan to the hebredies 2 yrs ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. The beaches are as good as you get anywhere in the world- just a bit colder! Hope to return once covid will allow.
Rogie Falls - Childhood memories! Although I do not remember much I recall the dark nearly back water of the river and the falls. We stayed a week in a castle-like hotel in Strathpeffer and it rained the complete week.
The car park at the Rogie Falls is a nightmare in snow and ice. Cars dance and skate all over it trying to get up the slope to the main road. I swerved in there one early January desperate for the loo. A promising looking toilet block like building caught my eye from the road. It was shut. As I helped push a couple of cars out of their slippery predicament nature called me urgently on towards Ullapool so I wasn't able to explore the nature beyond the car park. What a shame! Thanks for this Andrew. I'll have to stop again one day in a more relaxed frame of mind.
Great choice of music, it was very well matched to the video, beautiful wild seas. We (Brisbane) are also in lockdown. The virulent UK variant of COVID escaped quarantine via public transport & several shopping centres. So, we are having a short, sharp lockdown while the contact tracers etc. get on top of things. Going well so far. All the best to Dougal & yourself Andrew.
Most excellent, though I had to forego the wet stuff bit fore & aft... 🤮 Lovely footage of the Falls and river, especially the drone stuff, nicely included... ✅ 👏🏻
Memories of holidays past when we as a family visited Rogie and Corrieshelloch Falls,Andrew :) (holidayed in Lairg,Sutherland every August for years, last visited in 2007). Couldn't imagine going without mum and dad now (mum passed away in 2013 suddenly, my dad after a short battle with pancreatic cancer in Feb 2020) but want to go back one day.
Sorry to hear of your loss :( But our memories remain inside us, and it's important to keep making the most of what we have right now and make new memories. All the best.

Wow, sounds great! Very different to Norfolk - but that is very beautiful too, just in a different way.
Apologies for forgetting to add a map of the route. If you go to Google Maps and type in the route from Inverness to Uig Pier in Skye via Rogie Falls, you'll get the route we took :)
Wonderful video! Thank you for sharing! Hope you have a beautiful and safe day!
A beautiful trip, with a beautiful waterfall. Thank you Andrew
Thank you. No interruptions make the trip so enjoyable, really appreciate that about your videos. Best wishes on your remodel.
Thanks Karen, yes it does affect the revenue but I prioritise the viewer experience.
Thank you Dougal & Andrew for another excellent snapshot of Hebridean and Highland life!

Lovely film of the Rogie falls - it’s great to see the landscape details of Scotland- especially during lockdown when we can’t get out anywhere 😀👍👌
Me and wendy both think, there is something relaxing about watch you drive around, always great vlogs to watch. Thanks for the time and effort you put in to show us
Cheers H&W!
Rogie falls looking lovely, Scotland's such a beautiful place.

Thank you for nice free trip! Looking forward your next video.
Thanks for watching!
When we were in Scotland in 2018 we spent two nights in Beauty a drove to Gairloch/Poleewe. I we only knew that beautiful spot. Thanks for sharing! Beautiful! Greetings from Germany

Thank you so much.
My pleasure! Glad to give respite to those who thoroughly deserve it.
Another beautifully shot video Andrew together with great background music.
Keep them coming.
Always enjoy your videos thank you

I did think of you on that ferry... ;@)
Thank you for showing Rogie Falls. Glad to bring back memories :) Well, the Skerryvore fleece was threadbare, time to get a new one at TMF21 (I'm forever the optimist) :)
Really beautiful shots of the falls. Reminded me a bit of the Corrieshalloch falls. Never been to Rogie though - will have to stop there the next time we’re allowed out!!
Another great video , really liked the aerial filming...great armchair adventure when locked down again👍
Glad you enjoyed it Graham!
Stunning Andrew, thank you, so relaxing too, very good for the soul me thinks, and the ending with dear Dougal, priceless. Take care.
Glad you enjoyed it Christine!

I never tire of now heading HOME to the islands :)
Just had a wee greet. Cannot wait to go see my ma in the Black Isle when we are in control of the plague. The view of the Beinn as you come down the Leanaig 🥰
...and I can't wait for a bit of Harris time when the plague is under control, too!
Cant wait to see my Mum in the Black Isle too , it’s the longest time I’ve ever been away .
Lovely trip, but I was all settled in for a bit of DIY! It would be nice to see ur home, or garden. Right back to the trip,,, thankyou, oh, hope the docs, was OK.
I feel much better now, we stayed at Uig Hotel, great place. Thank You for posting, needed that.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Yay thanks Andrew. I missed Dougal at the falls! Never seen The Minch like that, like the middle of The Atlantic!! xx
Oh crikey, I've seen it worse than that! :)
Haha, I didn't even know Dougal has his own Loch. What a beautiful trip. Hope everything's OK up there. Best wishes and thumbs up (as well as fingers crossed ;-)) for the decorating.
Thanks Jutta, not my favourite job but I like the end result. :)
Loved the video Andrew can't wait until the next one!
Glad you enjoyed it
Thank you ever so much for this. I used to spend a lot of time in a very old cottage in a place called Acknasole (I may not have the correct spelling there, it's been a lot of years) near Jemimaville, as a kid, and we'd regularly visit Rogie Falls. Aaah such bliss! I've driven these roads quite a bit over the past 3 years, thanks originally to your Scotvlog series, and never tire of the beauty.
's funny when heading to Uist and Harris in March 2013 with a friend, we were driving through the Highlands and she said 'I wonder if people ever stop SEEING this place?' It's something I'm mindful of every time I do it :)

I hope so too!
Great to see love it hey wee dougal hello from Liebe in Canada oh yes hello to you also Mr. Ditton blahaha
He's actually named after a dog I met on a Calmac ferry a couple of months before I got him. I just thought it was such a cool name :)
Beautiful . Thank you.
Really lovely shots of Rogie Falls always cheers me up. It looked extremely cold though, Dougal didn't look impressed with you being away. Can't wait to be let out so that I can resume trips to Scotland !!!!
He never does look impressed! :)
You said 'Enjoy' Andrew, so I did! Those Falls were pretty special, but that last crossing looked kinda woolly. Thanks for sharing. Keep Safe!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I like the look of Rogiet Falls. I put that on my list of places to visit x
Thank you Andrew!

Yes, I'd not fancy doing that in a coach in the high season! Fingers crossed for 2021 John, all the best.
A very enjoyable watch
Brought back lovely memories of my drive from North Uist to Beauly last summer. Incredible and beautiful drone footage of the falls. 😀
Cheers Karen!
Lovely trip. We took our caravan to the hebredies 2 yrs ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. The beaches are as good as you get anywhere in the world- just a bit colder! Hope to return once covid will allow.
Wow 🤩 back online. I have just caught up with the bits I missed the falls are magnificent. The drone footage very impressive x .
Glad you got connected again. Turns out Brighton was without power for over 12 hours too.
We parked right next to the path at Rogie falls for the night, absolutely beautiful!
Really great drone shots of the falls, lot of background noise whilst on the ferry!!! Happy new year Andrew & Dougle

Thanks, you too!
Rogie Falls - Childhood memories! Although I do not remember much I recall the dark nearly back water of the river and the falls. We stayed a week in a castle-like hotel in Strathpeffer and it rained the complete week.
Rain in Scotland? That's unusual... ;@)
Just what the doctor ordered :) Thank you.
You're welcome, Jan!
Thanks for the lovely video
My pleasure 😊
Rogie Falls was great. And the stormy sailing from Uig to Lochmaddy brought back memories. This big boat can swing :)
Thank you so much
The car park at the Rogie Falls is a nightmare in snow and ice. Cars dance and skate all over it trying to get up the slope to the main road. Sounds awful! Maybe the loos were shut because they were frozen? Yes, definitely worth a stop next time.

Most excellent, though I had to forego the wet stuff bit fore & aft... 🤮
Lovely footage of the Falls and river, especially the drone stuff, nicely included... ✅ 👏🏻
Cheers Rog!
Lovely drone shots.
Many thanks!
All the best for 2021. Haven’t been Rogie falls since 2018. Feel a need for a trip to Scotland this year if all goes well.
Fingers crossed!
Oooooh that ferry crossing would have had my anxiety dial on max...
