Raymond G he said recently that he was going to throw in a totally misleading title every now and then, to balance his whole title range. This way people won't know when a title actually spoils the ending.

His shirt actually fits very well for someone in shape. Unlike yourself wearing a tank that looks like the last thing you lifted was a supreme burrito from Taco Bell 🔔 🌮 😂
Daniel has to test the water on the turn but when his opponent calls', that's me checking the river and folding the raise, I'm not putting any more in, hand over. I have no spades and my opponent has too much chance of having one and he's told me he does by calling the turn. I believe him!
Well Daniel's turn bet was pretty small, right? It's getting called by all the sets, straights, and overpairs. The river bet, however, will fold out anything that's not a flush.
That's not a fact. There are enough players that could call that bet on the river with a bad hand. And that's not even taking things like chip count into consideration or the player maybe being on tilt. But we're seeing just this one hand. Daniel had probably played and observed the guy and had somewhat of a handle of what kind of player he is. But still. He has to throw away those 16k just to make sure the other player really has a flush and isn't just trying to pull the wool over his eyes? I'd rather keep the 16k and the 4,5k from the previous betting round, and watch someone show me that he bluffed me. But Daniel is the pro, and it's just a single hand, so whatever.
Stephen Grimes The ace is taken but you still have king nine and 98 of spades So the ace being taken has nothing to do with two straight flushes just a royal flush
He rambled wayyy to much but it’s also that mindset that will make or brake you in this game. It’s not enjoyable to watch but good to learn from. Keep that in mind when you click on any poker video.
Why not just call the turn? Daniels led into him on two streets and when he calls he's only going to have a 30k stack in a 58k pot. Give Daniel the rope, no?
Love your content i am always learning so much. Taking notes on situations and such. I wish you would go back to putting out more of this content because its just so important. Thank you so much for all you do
Doug, here's a question: You said that Young should be 4-betting most of the time and folding sometimes so that (I think) his opponents can't get a full read on his range in that situation. But...unless all his opponents are scouring RUclips videos to notice a time when he might fold, there's no way for them to track whether he's actually doing what you said. When he folds there, they are just going to assume that he doesn't have a strong hand, not that he's holding back some AQo hands just to mix up his range. If you think he should 4-bet sometimes, why not just 4-bet all the time. If he wants to pretend that he folded some, then fine, but no one would really know. This is especially true for people you're giving advice to (us!), since no one is televising our hands so opponents might track them, if you see what I'm saying. What does Young gain by folding sometimes, exactly?
Honestly man, I love what you’re saying. So much of poker advice seems to be empty words for the sake of sounding complicated and smart. It’s fucking gambling at the end of the day. With that being said, Doug would destroy me in poker.
think of the ranking of every hand in a spot where you 4bet. how often would you 4bet for value* with AA? pretty much 100% of time since no hand can beat you preflop. Now KK? pretty much 100% too (maybe 99%). Now QQ ? probably 95%. AK? could be 90% of time. All the way down to 32o and 42o. 0% or 1% of time right? since youre gonna be behind on basically all flops. On that chart AQo can be a 4bet 60-70% of time and fold 30%. if that makes sense.
4-bet preserves the top end of his range and potentially wins the pot pre flop. The reason Polk says to four bet or fold is that flatting a three bet gives your opponent information on your hand. If he flats AKs is not in his hand, KK and AA are not in his hand. Those are important holdings on this flop.
@@mikesmith6129 Doug would destroy you because although it is gambling, all the what sounds like nonsense to you is talking about the odds of different 'bets' or not bets, in different situations. Pure random rambling would be not looking at your cards and randomly checking, raising/all in and calling. You know folding aces pre flop is a bad move....and calling all ins when you have 72 is also bad? Because of the odds and probability of that move losing or winning..it's just more advanced.
@@OliHandy2008 I think you misunderstand the point I was trying to (poorly) make. I know there’s an optimal strategy to poker, I was just trying to say that a lot of the advice you get online, especially from armchair pros, is unnecessarily complicated for the sake of sounding smart.

This title wasn’t clickbait. How are there so many people saying this? DN has a rep for making sick reads, and reading minds. Here Doug Polk shows a hand that DNegs plays that not only shows he (represents) bluffs the exact hand his opponent has, but even once he realizes okay the guy has it, and is shown the fuckin ace of spades, Daniel still incorrectly assumes he had the guy dominated preflop, when they had the same hand. This hand shows that Daniel is not the perfect mindreader he has the rep for. So I don’t know why ANYONE is calling this clickbait. The type of person saying this mustn’t play poker at even an amateur level to not realize this is the case. Doug is essentially talking shit, and analyzing Daniels (widely known) reputation for being a mindreader. This is Doug going after this claim. How is this hard to understand?

Anthony Matrone, it does not bother you that a "poker icon" is again trying to convince poker "fans" that PokerStars raising the rake again and again is actually good for poker?? He denied saying it last year and here he is again defending PokerStars purely profit driven rake changes. PokerStars made him wealthy just tell the truth. He earns points from "profits" that is why he is OK with rake increases. A real poker legend or icon whatever you called him, would just tell his fans the truth.
joe sarnak Being an icon or a legend has nothing to do with telling the truth. And being greedy or a shill does not remove poker talent or money won. What about Polk? He didn’t do this video because it was an interesting hand. He did it to expose DN somehow. And so we could see DN betting into an A high flush, as we get to see this fact. Both are low on integrity in those areas.

I just don't get the "sometimes fold AQ, but mostly 4-bet" like in the same exact scenario, wouldn't a GTO strategy have a set action that doesn't change against any given spot?
Idk dude, starting to think you have a crush on dnegs. His small shirt and you looking soft and jiggly. Are those stretch marks on your arms or is it my old tv?
The ace of spades IS NOT THE NUTS on this hand - K-9 of spades is. While that particular combination is VERY unlikely to be Negreanu's hand, the K-9 of spades is still the nuts here - NOT simply the ace of spades.
THEGLORYRISING if he's getting paid by that company to promote the games. Yes, I guess you're right. I'm not sure about online rake anymore. I haven't played online in some time now. I play private games with $15 cap rake. So anything under that seems cheap to me. Lol
Doug isn't alone. I think this acticle kind of sums it up www.pokertube.com/article/daniel-negreanu-needs-to-shut-up-about-pokerstars-rake-changes and Joey Ingram says it well as well ruclips.net/video/L1s4rJ9SvXk/видео.html but in simple, Daniel thinks it's GOOD to REMOVE winning players from the microstakes pool and leave only bad recreational players. I do not understand why he promotes this stupidity and if he wants to stand up for poker, and not the money-hungry-business-pokerstars, then he needs to leave their company openly. If he were to stand up to them and just say "what you are doing is not good for poker, I am going to leave this company" then they would have to listen because of his influence. But he won't. Hence the hate.
Would be interesting what would have happened if Daniel had AK instead of AQ. Would have flopped the straight instead of top pair making it harder to release it
So Daniel played the hand perfectly! Technically stronger hand to begin with. Turn raise to see where his opponent was. River raise to not let him get away with stealing if he wasn't ahead. He had top pair but was checking if a spade was out there and that is so clear when he got him to flip one card. Ridiculous attempt of a tutorial if you can't see what a very obviously good poker player was doing in the position he was in the game as well as his hand.
One thing you must understand is Daniel Negreanu plays poker sometimes in a chess frame of mind whereas he is simply trying to protect yourself and figure out what his opponent has. He is most likely placing the $16,000 bet representing a straight or flush just to see if his opponent disrespects it with a raise showing he definitely has a straight beat and making it a easy decision to fold knowing his opponent most likely is not bluffing doesn't care if it's the low straight or high straight so obviously he has a flush of some sort and with a push he obviously isn't scared of any High Spades. I think representing a straight or flush with the $16,000 bet was just a very smart move to make his final decision easy because is goal with the hand he had was to cause his opponent to even call showing he possibly didn't have the nuts giving Negreanu a chance to provoke another moderate even call on 5th Street giving him a chance to actually build a little more equity and still possibly win the hand, but as we saw, Negreanu $16,000 bet caused his opponent to basically Telegraph that he had the nuts. I saw it was very well played by Negreanu to be safe and still leave opportunity to win the hand if the opponent showed any sign of weakness. Sometimes a certain play is actually a defensive play and this play resembled chess to me.
Dear Polk, I would like to know the answer on 1 question, I play poker for fun micro stakes. Is it really required to have/use software to be a winning player????? Thx Jokelorevic
This was standard. We all know Daniel will 3/4 pot bet the river with that board in order to lose the showdown on his terms, win, or fold to the obvious nuts.
This guy needs to get to the point faster, cause this rapid nostralspeech and overdrawn analytics, makes me want to bite my index finger joint clean off. All I wanted was to see the "read mind situation" and maybe a comment on that.
The 4 and a half from Daniel on the turn is straight up a blocker bet to shorten Young’s range. It has absolutely nothing to do with his own hand strength. He’s planning on making a move in this hand and needs to gauge Young’s range in order to do that. Everything else you’re saying is 100% true Polk but you’re theory crafting a predominantly instinctual poker player.
Maybe it's just the fact that I can see both players cards, but I feel like when Young checks back the flop if I'm in Daniels position it's just a check fold situation on every street. I can't see any hand he'd check back the flop with that AdQd is beating other than 88 and 99 and we're dead to those with spades on the turn

Making a joke about the size of his shirt while wearing a tank top. Classic.
Hey Doug big fan.. Can't wait for the day you come out of the closet.. Keep going dude
He did it
@@pepeman3099 what??? He come out n said he was a poofter?
Doug angleshooting with the clickbait title ? Not cool
Ace spade ain’t the nuts. Jesus man
Someone explain why Doug talks about the Ace of Spades so often? I don't see the advantage over other Aces
No... he just knows poker is more than about GTO and Ranges... he trusts more into reads and tells.
GTO can GTFO.
This comment looks real dumb after the hup duel.
Dude. So funny you made the T shirt comment. Was thinkin same. Lookin like my Dad in the 80s. Just needed pack of Ports inside front pocket.
technically the 3rd nuts
26bisket the 2nd technically, you can't have k9 and 98 of spades in the same deal
Ace of spades is the nuts on this board with this action ;)
yeah i dont think daniel calls with k9.......5 bet or fold.......89s might be a possible call though?
26bisket Technically the 4th
how? daniel can't have a royal
Can Doug Polk clickbait harder? Let's go through 15 minutes of pointless dialogue first.
If your folding a queen and you dont have a spade with 4 spades on the board then you dont read minds. You're just making the right play.
Betting small OOP in these extremely narrow range, low spr, turn spots does not necessarily correlate w/ a high betting frequency
Why do you dislike Daniel so much? You seem to troll him often.
paul lindsay More rake is better. Does there need to be any other reason?
THEGLORYRISING ya, that I don't care for. But that's about it. I can't think of much more.
Killing online poker by increasing rake... I think that is enough of a reason dont you?
Happy I read comments b4 wasting time.
That guy didn't have the nuts as you stated in the vid. K9 spades was the nuts. 😂😂😂😂
Thanks for suggesting to me two Doug Polk videos so I know to never click another again.
That tittle is big click bait, final warning Doug!
Is Doug Polk not allowed to talk anywhere else? Cuz, he sure likes to hear himself go on, and on, and on, and on
That’s my uncle
Doug Polk is a good example of why one should "never judge a book by it's cover".
11:37 pocket aces and pocket kings with a spade!
Dear Polk,
I would like to know the answer on 1 question,
I play poker for fun micro stakes.
Is it really required to have/use software to be a winning player?????
Thx
Jokelorevic
No
This was standard.
He won’t shut up.
That last quip about the shirt was 100% spot on. I love laughing out loud while looking at my computer, thanks Doug.
Talking about someone else's shirt while wearing that tank top?
Man, this is Daniel Negranu... he's known for talking it up... what, did his dog just die?
The 4 and a half from Daniel on the turn is straight up a blocker bet to shorten Young’s range. It has absolutely nothing to do with his own hand strength. He’s planning on making a move in this hand and needs to gauge Young’s range in order to do that. Everything else you’re saying is 100% true Polk but you’re theory crafting a predominantly instinctual poker player.
Technically, Young didn't have nuts. K9 of spades would be nuts but it's highly impossible that Daniel has it.
All-in after a bet on a 4-card-flush board. MIND READER!
