Guide: 1) Create your chord progression. A repeated four chord progression is very common u may start in any chord u like 2) find a melody by playing the whole scale of the Key note of your choice. Play the melody while continously playing the chord progression 3) find your favorite three notes in the scale while listening your chords Be creative on this step. 4) once you have the three notes. Play that over and over with the chord progression you made. The beat, tempo, genre will come along depending on your muscial influence. 5) now create a hook line (chorus melody) by: a) repeating the step one (make new chord progression) OR b) step number 3 (keep your original progression) Thank me later
Hey there, I'm a beginner in music. I have no idea on music theories or anything. But I love to make music in FL Studio. I made 1 or 2 music using that with no music theory in mind at all. And now I'm stuck in same melody and cord progression. I have no clue what to do next or make new fresh melodies and stuff. After watching your videos, I got some inspirations. Now I'm asking youtube, WHY THE HECK YOU DIDN'T SUGGEST THESE CHANNEL EARLIER! Your a great teacher. very simple to understand, easy to pick up. But I gotta learn some at least some basic music theory. And that's ok. Love your content. Keep making them.
Music theory is important, making music without it is like trying to talk in a lenguage that you dont know how to speak So, yes, I recommend learning more about it, once you get the basics, you are gonna be a lot better :D
@Cris well i stopped making music about a year ago. But personally, i started with dubstep and dnb kinda stuff. For me, i like dubstep music. So i picked it. Then i tried mixing genres like pop and dubstep, melodic and dubstep, melodic and horror style etc.. And i even tried retro style and dubstep too. (That one is on my channel if anyone wanna check out. It's just my 1st try, not that good btw) The thing is, pick whatever genre you like. And keep learn, practice and importantly try experimenting and then repeat. Good luck👍
I understand the basic of chord progressions but had a rough time with melodies until this video, I shed a tear because I'm learning & to get a better understanding of something I'm so passionately wanting to learn puts my mind as ease.. Thank u miss
Wow. I’m a little late, but I’ve been playing piano for 3 years and I’ve never tried composing music. I decided to watch some videos, and I think I’m gonna give it a try! Your video really helped, really straightforward and easy to follow! You just gained a subscriber, thanks a lot 🖤🥰
YOU... ARE... AMAZING! I've been giving up on piano for 20+ years. And with a couple of you video, you have successfully light up the fire to re-learn it! THANK YOU and bless your beautiful soul
I like your concept of playing the scale against each chord, to see how they sound, and find the melody notes that could go well with each Chord- eventually leading to the completion of the melody line. Thank you, for sharing this video. Have a Blessed day !!!
that moment you realize how incredibly simple James Horner's "Titanic" - was! It's not about the chord progressions BUT the melody that's it, R.I.P. my favorite composer!
I've been following Pianote lessons from previous 2 weeks and now I feel that I'm making progress that I hadn't made in last 2 years in playing piano . Thank you Pianote.Awesome and Easy to follow lessons 😍🥰
I have watched 20 different people doing piano lessons and I always come back to lisa!!! Seems so sweet, down to earth and patient! I have only been playing keyboard for 7 month but I have learned the most from Lisa and Pianote!! Thank you for the great lessons LG
im 22 and i startet making beats 3 years ago and i feel just making drums over samples is cool but i want to make real music. so i search on youtube to find tutorials to learn more about playing the piano and i always come back to this channel, and i learn something every time. good channel
The video and the comment section is the best place for a fresh new lover of music......like me😍😍.....i am trying to understand music....and i found i am not the only one finding it difficult....so comforting 😂
Thanks for this amazing tutorial. The fact that this is the exact type of music I like to play and the fact that it's all explained so easily is pure gold.
I truly appreciate the value you constantly provide to my day. I got back into piano and more importantly regained confidence in playing piano because of your videos.
I’m so thankful for your videos. I’ve been self teaching myself for about a year now and these videos are really helping me achieve my goals of where I want to be. Thank you so much ❤️
To get fluent enough on the piano so I can express myself in my own creative way. I don’t have any interest in reading sheet music so you truly make this dream possible for me
I write my own songs and learning how to play the piano but what you said has inspired me to learn creating a mood and playing melodies. I feel like I need so much help but thank you though.
This puts everything in Perspective. girl you giving up all this sauce. You taught and showed how to play the piano in less than 7:00 minutes. I would kill for you.💝
Hey, i am a beginner.. started playing since two years, now i find myself as a composer but I don’t know how to complete my melody and I don’t know what to use to save my melody and improve it, this video is also helpful for me thank you, and i appreciate your usual support to us and i would love to see from you another video where we can use a useful application and easy to compose something with your explanation.
I couldn’t Wright background music for my songs. I was so lost. But after watching this video I figured it out. Thank you for making such an amazing helpful video
This video helped me with my whole life... I was playing piano since I was 5. And I never knew if I wanted to write songs or do something else, like be a doctor or idk. After I saw this video I realised, what I really wanna do...
I've watched a lot of these types of melody writing videos....but this one is actually a very helpful and informative video. Well done....thank you for this instruction.
I go to music and art school for piano and I can't seem to stop struggling with music. I have so many ideas for song, its just insane I can't express them
Hello! You motivated me to creat a song…. Thank you for helping me! Imma ask my piano teacher to help me working my voice and then i should find lyrics… I really enjoy your videos! Thanks again for helping
Such a helpful video, I’ve been recording music for almost 4 years, but have just recently began creating all of the instrumentals myself. This video is fantastic for a beginner such as myself!
All of these are great ideas. Playing around with rhythm, gives it that unique quality. I like playing with notes just off the key or even a harmonic minor scale progression.
Excellent ideas! I play handbells and I put together my first arrangement. And I would like to create an original. You have helped to get started! Thanks, Don
this is so helpful realizing the perfect choice of notes! im not a pianist but into guitars. really opened my mind on choosing the best sounding notes on doing my own riffs. kudos!
New subscriber-- I cannot thank you enough. This video helped me soooo much. In 6 minutes, my playing improved. I will continue to tune in to your videos. You are a brilliant teacher!
Thank u very much for your beautiful and easy to learn tutorials. I've learned lots of techniques and tricks from it. I didn't know anything about piano's basics six month ago e.g Chords, Scales etc, and even didn't know how to play any melody on piano. I couldn't understand how to start as there are lots of white and black keys on piano, in short i 'm totally illiterates in music theory. But your easy techniques inspired me to take my piano again and practicing over it again and again. Now by practicing two to three hour daily after my work , i can play any melody/ song even it is English/Hindi just by carefully listening it(95%) . So thanks again "PIANOTE" and its great teachers.
Self taught piano is not easy by any means and some how, I've managed to be a really good piano player and a really bad music artist at the same time, throughout my 5 years of learning I've developed nothing but chops, finger spread, and the ability to write really easy riffs. This video for "beginners" really helps me and will aid me in my future compositions; take note that just because you can play good does not mean you can make good music. A lot of this is really complex and there's always some type of writers block.
Very good video. This simple exercice makes me feel good while improvising around progressions. I usually play chords in a boring manner. But you made me remember arpeggios are cool things to start a melodic line. With inversions, I can play with ascending apreggios and descending arpeggios to give more "structure" to what I'm playing. It's hard to explain (at least in English for a French woman). And then I started to add additional notes to "chain" the I V vi IV progression... Thank you for bringing pleasure back to my practice. I really enjoy your channel! Keep it going!!! :-D Love from France

Kelly Fischer i dont care
Great tip thank you
Great
Ur face is somekind of different
Dang
Why does everything that you play sound so good and catchy? 😅
Hahaha, nice comment. Do you write music yourself?
because it's simple, seriously when you write a simple but beautiful piece of music it will be more catchy
@@TahaSafaie damn, you are so right!
@@TahaSafaie yeah and thats the point of pop music. its catchy cause it's simple
Everything played within a scale will sound catchy because the scale has harmony in it.

I’m on fl too . melody is just an the outcome .. it’s rhythms that really make or break your melody.. and a great chord progression

This is great fun! Music is not just about playing something already there. It's also about creation. What a wonderful world.

As soon as you hit that first chord in the key of D, I immediately began to hear a show called "Hill Street Blues" from the 80's.
Fantastic lesson. I have to get my keyboard out and put my guitar on hold. This inspired a whole new thing inside me. Thank you
A great lesson as always! The 1-6-5-4 chord progression sounds beautiful and emotional!
Yes!!! Also known as the number system. If you key into it you will see the bigger picture of music...
