Cliff note version to patients: it almost certainly will relax you, it MIGHT cause you to forget certain events during your traumatic encounter, it will not prevent you from feeling pain from their manipulations and interventions. Other than its calming properties, in my opinion alone, it is my belief that it is often given almost solely in the hope that you will not form any memories of events. Would you be comfortable being tortured for however long and experiencing all the horror, but don’t worry, you won’t consciously recall it afterwards?
What is your opinion about Versed in RSI?
I don't have any experience with it in the RSI environment. The protocols around where I live are dependent on ketamine and etomidate.
"When are you guys gonna give me the Versed?"
"We gave it to you 5 minutes ago Jason."
"Alright...when you gonna give me the Versed?"

What about Midazolam as a pill, 15mg
I haven't heard of that in the pre hospital setting.
hospitals usually only have midazolam in syrup or injection form. 15mg is a super high dose for seizures
