Good work with getting fitter. Health is the key to everything. I'm only forty seven but I have a muscle wasting disease I didn't manage very well and now there's so many things I just can't do any more and it's (mostly) my own fault. Don't take your abilities for granted like we all generally do, especially as you get older, and look after yourselves, people. Hi Pat, lovely to see another video from your pub shed. Each time we go there there's something new. I liked the beer mats on the ceiling, thats quite a collection, they all look new. Here's me remembering that Double Diamond works wonders!! I was lucky enough to do Ten Tors (Dartmoor) when I was a teenager, great memories. So yes do the watershed challenge it sounds really interesting. Look forward to seeing you do some Spanish dishes on one of your camps!! Hello Pat... It was great to see you back in the Pub again. We like the new additions. We find these kind of videos as nice. Where we are there are times when snowstorms prevent our going out at all. Just like you...we have our own retreat as you for those times. It's Friday night, the log burner is raging in our Dronfield bungalow, but I'm alone as my better half is in Scarborough at her Ma & Pa's. What better, glancing past the Christmas tree to outside at the frost and snow while I sip my JD and watch the old pub in the garden. Magic our Morris! Absolutely brilliant review and love your pub shed. Although the Italian themed camp was good I think my favourite for the wild aspect was the last camp you did I love to hear the wind and also the rain beating down on a tent. I can see why you do dehydrated food but I do like it when you go all out with your food like cooking steak with all the trimmings or those Yorkshires you did that time in your oven - yes yet the oven back out 🙂 Maybe you could do a meal which incorporates another local favourite Hendo’s maybe. Hi Richard, I think building my pub shed got me through lockdown as it kept me occupied and busy, and I,ve had some good times in there, but my best times are when out in some wild remote place in my tent, nice and cozy and secure. Hope to have a day out with my oven later in the year...... thanks Pat
Really interesting looking back on 2022. You've got some great ideas for 2023 so looking forward to that. I remember doing the three peaks when I was in my 20's. When I was in my 60's I went back and just did Pen y Ghent, nearly killed me! you cannot avoid the ravages of time. I'm 78 now and still walking but I stick to the low ground. I am also very aware of the age concern and its limitations, but having the desire to get out into the beautiful Peak District is what counts. We are very lucky to have this on our doorstep. A nice end of year round up in that favourite place - the pub shed! Snug in the snug - what heating do you have? Good you entered into the spirit of Xmas at the start but kept it sensibly in proportion. Thought for a moment I spotted a packet of Quavers on the loo floor. Had to laugh out loud at the 'Cherry B - a lady's drink' comment. Here is the dilemma. You're caught out in the open miles from nowhere and all you have is a Cherry B in the rucksack. Would you crack it open and take a slug? 'Get a pint to think about the problem' and that reassuring and satisfying sigh of 'very nice'. All is right with the world after a sip. I like the idea of the multi-parter. Love the evening meal, late night cocoa and then the morning breakfast with it all ahead of you again. Season's greetings and HNY!
Thanks Tony, yes so cozy in the pub, because the place is small it heats up very quickly just using a simple 3kwh electric heater, costs about £1.50 a hour but worth it. So many different drinks the beer mats certainly brought back some memories..... wishing you all the best for 2023.... thanks Pat 😊

Drinking too much is certainly something to watch out for. Addictions sneak up on you by changing the way you think, so you don't notice it yourself. I had to stop drinking for health reasons about 15 years ago, and only after that I noticed the slope I had been on. Have a good rest of the year and thanks for all the quality videos you have created over the years.

It's Friday night, the log burner is raging in our Dronfield bungalow, but I'm alone as my better half is in Scarborough at her Ma & Pa's. What better, glancing past the Christmas tree to outside at the frost and snow while I sip my JD and watch the old pub in the garden. Magic our Morris! Absolutely brilliant review and love your pub shed. Although the Italian themed camp was good I think my favourite for the wild aspect was the last camp you did I love to hear the wind and also the rain beating down on a tent.
I can see why you do dehydrated food but I do like it when you go all out with your food like cooking steak with all the trimmings or those Yorkshires you did that time in your oven - yes yet the oven back out 🙂
Maybe you could do a meal which incorporates another local favourite Hendo’s maybe.

Hi Richard, I think building my pub shed got me through lockdown as it kept me occupied and busy, and I,ve had some good times in there, but my best times are when out in some wild remote place in my tent, nice and cozy and secure.

Really interesting looking back on 2022. You've got some great ideas for 2023 so looking forward to that. I remember doing the three peaks when I was in my 20's. When I was in my 60's I went back and just did Pen y Ghent, nearly killed me! you cannot avoid the ravages of time. I'm 78 now and still walking but I stick to the low ground. A nice end of year round up in that favourite place - the pub shed! Snug in the snug - what heating do you have? Good you entered into the spirit of Xmas at the start but kept it sensibly in proportion. Thought for a moment I spotted a packet of Quavers on the loo floor. Had to laugh out loud at the 'Cherry B - a lady's drink' comment. Here is the dilemma. You're caught out in the open miles from nowhere and all you have is a Cherry B in the rucksack. Would you crack it open and take a slug? 'Get a pint to think about the problem' and that reassuring and satisfying sigh of 'very nice'. All is right with the world after a sip. I like the idea of the multi-parter. Love the evening meal, late night cocoa and then the morning breakfast with it all ahead of you again. Season's greetings and HNY!
Thanks Tony, yes so cozy in the pub, because the place is small it heats up very quickly just using a simple 3kwh electric heater, costs about £1.50 a hour but worth it.

Drinking too much is certainly something to watch out for. Addictions sneak up on you by changing the way you think, so you don't notice it yourself. I had to stop drinking for health reasons about 15 years ago, and only after that I noticed the slope I had been on. Have a good rest of the year and thanks for all the quality videos you have created over the years.
Yes I know what you mean, wth lockdown we got used to drinking each day, which is nice, but no good for your health, so just got to have a few days off, looking forward to next year's adventures...... thanks Pat
