I served in Ilesha as an Igbo person, I was treated well by my landlady who accommodated me at zero cost, auntie Ronke was the best, she took me as her younger sister. God bless her
No doubt your daughter married an Igbo man I am a Ghanaian and love my Igbo people especially their language. Growing up as a kid in Ghana we were told Igbo people eat human flesh but as I grow up I realized it was an asanse story. God bless the Igbo people
You are telling my story. Got married into the Igbo society for 47years. Lost my husband to the cold hands of death 31years ago. They fight for me among the kindred for my rights as an Urhobo lady anytime anywhere telling others you have to protect her because she is not from here but now here. Even after our brother's death, she deserve to be pampered. Igbo community is the best i have seen even though there maybe some exceptions. Igbo kwu enu. Ya.
I am from the north and I live in the north. My boss is an igbo man whose business I manage in the north. I have not seen anyone as kind-hearted as him. He literally changed the way I see igbo people as opportunist, greedy and manipulators. I know there are few bad eggs. But igbos are generally good people.
Action speak louder than words.... For naming your children Igbo names shows the sincerity of your love towards this noble tribe... May that love bring unending blessings to you and your family.... Amen 🙏🙏
I love the igbos. They are very caring and protective of you when you live amongst them. I love their confidence about everything and its a blessing for me to have lived amongst them... I see myself as an Ekwusigo man, wannem dinamba I m , though a Yoruba man. 😅😂
Truth is what matters. You have just told the world the truth as it is. The Igbo man does not play with strangers because he has his brothers and sisters all over the world. He takes care of a stranger exactly as it is in the Bible. Thank you Doc and be immensely blessed.
You are already an Igbo man by naturalization. One of my best friends was an Urhobo boy. He came to my village in Anambra state as a conductor and stayed in my town for more than ten years. Married my niece and joined my village-age grade as an indigene of my village. This could only happen in Igbo land.
It’s good to know that my great grandmother came from a good honourable tribe, I am Jamaican and I learned from my DNA that my great grandmother was a Nigerian woman, found one of my distant cousins through 23andMe DNA and told me that we are Igbo, thank you for this information as I learn more about my people
Thanks for being factual. You captured facts about my people appropriately. We are broadminded and so will gladly travel and live in any part of the world and with any tribe, race or culture.
If all Nigerians were to be like you, Nigeria would have developed like Dubai and be as loving as Paris. You are indeed a breath of fresh air, God bless you sir.
You said it all. Igbos are very good people, and that is the foundation of their progress all over the world. Welcome them, you welcome progress in your society. Hate and reject them, your society will be curse. That is what people are witnessing in Nigeria today.
You are very right.I am a Bini Man.My late Parents had cordial and good relationships with Igbos who are known to be very industrious.Obviously, the Nigerian Nation missing Igbo tribe because of secession will reduce Nigeria's International image. It will be like soup without salt.Nigeria should get things right to avoid Biafra's secession which will lead to more secessions !!!
One Hausa guy that came to do a building work in my village from Kano stayed back after his work and married one of our sisters from a neigboring community. He still live in my community, he comes out whenever we are having community gathering. We prefer giving him job than our own people because of his sincerity. It's not even only him, i know many strangers from different states who live and married our girls in my local govt in Imo state. It always surprises me the way other tribes are saying all manner of things against my people because all are false. It will never be well with APC people who bring this tribalism among us. We travel around the world, so why would we treat others who came to live with us bad when others are protecting us? It's so unfair the way they treat my people and saying all manner of bad things to us.
My brother, I must tell you something. God use APC to tell we Igbos to be ready, because our freedom from Nigeria is not far from us. Before APC came to power, we Igbos relax so much. But God use them to tell you to be ready, because time is coming for him to give us freedom from Nigeria. He use APC as an instrument, to course so much hatred against the Igbos, so we Igbos will cry. And he has heard our cry, not I must tell you, our freedom from God forsaken country called Nigeria is not far from us. He separate Igbos with his mighty hand and will display his greatness among his people Igbos. And will separate them, and will set a table of pure gold before his people. Another mission which God has sent APC, is to destroyed the country, and bring a lot of suffering. Which God has succeeded doing that. The remaining one, he will soon carry out is to bring his last and great judgement, to be able to take Igbos out. So his plans will be accomplished, because his is a master planner.
God bless you sir. It's quite refreshing to hear this from an Urobo man. Igbo people are known for their hospitality and love for strangers. I am very proud to be an Igbo lady, the people God blessed and created beautiful 😍. Remain blessed Sir
One Yoruba boy make a video where he was saying that during the last presidential election he was campaigning for Mr Peter Obi and some Yorubas were insulting him that he should support tinubu, he told that it's only igbo man can fix Nigeria, then told them that he lives in igboland and igbo Man will never give his in-law job knowing fully well that his in-law can't deliver, he'll give him the job as long as he knows that he has experience..that Igbo's don't discretion, and he appeal to his people to vote for Peter Obi, that he knows he has what it takes to move Nigeria forward
I am an Igbo man, I can confirm all what's been said by him is correct, especially the fact that Igbo people have intentional desire to protect strangers. I schooled in the East, and I could recall how a Yoruba man living in my deep hinterland village received so much attention and care from everyone, my grandmother inclusive. Idowu would always receive first consideration whenever it comes to favour and sharing, and many would always use the phrase ' give that to him, he is a stranger ' he was so loved and cared for. Congruent with this story, is how my late father, likewise, received so much love in Lagos from his Yoruba landlord. Alhaji so loved my father enough that most times he would recommend waving about three to four months of house rents. Alhaji so loved us and showed so much caring that in a few occasion he had sent money through my father to support our upkeep back in the university. I have mingled with different tribesmen, I have lived in the West, East and North of Nigeria, and have learnt that TRIBE is only an inconsequential characteristic of a people, and should not form any basis for discrimination, exclusion and hatred. One Nigeria, One Love. Thank you for your amazing story.
Dr. Apoki, I have much love and respect for you. You are an extraordinary and truthful man. You said it as it is, God will continue to bless and protect you. How I wished we have up to one million out of the two hundred million Nigerians like you. Remain Blessed.
Real Igbo always shows brotherly kindness to other Nigerians, outside Nigeria. Fellow Nigerians often seek help from them to navigate administrative bottlenecks in European countries. Hence, other tribes claim to be Igbos.
Nna anyi nke ukwu.. choi! You are indeed an elder to behold and love. You have a heart of the purest gold. The future will remember you sir (prophesy). I pray that the ALMIGHTY GOD grants you long life, sound mind, more wisdom, more knowledge, more understanding and whatever your heart desires in JESUS MIGHTY NAME. AMEN. Are the IGBOS blameless? Capital no but you chose to love us. Thank you so much sir. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.💯
Thank you doctor Apoki for saying it like it is , there are many good Nigerians in all tribes , but it is good to hear from you the experience you had in Igbo land , your voice. is a welcome voice in a sea of so many bad ones these days against the Igbo for no reason ,Igbos are good people , we bear no grudges against anyone , especially since we are everywhere, so it is really shocking to hear so many lies against the Igbo these days , yes the civil war happened a long time ago,but it is gradually being forgotten, except tribalist buhari brought it out in the open , he hated the Igbos that any agitation from Igbos about being marginalized was to buhari a continuation of the civil war , generally Igbos have married other tribes , but buhari made Igbo hating fashionable because of his own hatred of Igbo, sadly tinubu is doing the same thing buhari did , so your voice dr Apoki is a welcome voice , hopefully it will help in demystifying the negative image and lies about the Igbo, personally I think some people are just envious of Igbos because of their successes,Igbo is not your problem people. Its very nice to ear this bcos I could remember my former landlord where I lived at ondo state the land lord share Almost the same story how Igbo's took care of him
You spoke undiluted truth. I grew up an Igbo in Imo state and there were three separate urhobo families with their children living on my street. I noticed that urhobo women respect their husbands a lot, and are very hardworking like Igbo women. In fact I didnt even know those my playmates were not Igbos until I finished secondary school because they all have Igbo names and urhobo names at the same time. I can attest to the veracity of your experience.
You're completely right, brother. Those are the qualities of Igbo bloodstream. God bless you for speaking truth to power. More blessings you'll tap from the God of Igboland. ❤❤❤. We, the Igbos, love you too.
Nice experience to share indeed. However, there are millions of other Nigerians who can tell similar stories from their days during the NYSC. I served in Okene (it was still in Kwara State at that time). My fellow Corpers and myself were loved and protected by the Igbirra people in whose land we lived while teaching at Federal College of Education, Okene. You have spoken the gospel truth, which many people in the country shy away from. It shall be well with the Igbo nation and the lovers of the Igbo nation.
Truth is light. Your joy as you narrate your experience is worth emulating, expecially your naming the with igbo names will cause God nerver to forget you and the family. One with God is with majority.
THERE WILL BE IGBO QUATER IN HEAVEN BY GOD'S GRACE AND WE WILL MEET THERE SIR 🥰🥰 REMAIN BLESSED ALWAYS SIR. THE ONLY NIGERIAN THAT HAS SAID GOOD ABOUT NDI IGBO. MUCH APPRECIATED SIR.❤❤😅😅
This man is 100% correct. I grew up in Igboland and they protect visitors. Two Yoruba boys in my secondary were never ever were called “Yoruba”. They spoke Igbo but have Yoruba names. No one ever harassed them. In fact they were treated better than Igbo boys. Because Igbos travel a lot they understand the vulnerabilities of a ‘stranger’ and hate to remind themselves that their brothers and sisters elsewhere might be maltreated. So they protect visitors in hope that one good turn breeds another.
Yeah we don't treat stranger bad cuz we always ve in mind that we ve our people littered outside our land, Dr thanks for saying the reality about ndigbo
You're very correct sir, I married an Igbo Lady the day I went for introduction I realized there has been a great misconception about them. That's why my children bears Igbo name
Doc thanks for your love and positive comments about the igbos...from your first hand experience...igbos welcome strangers very much....thats true. You're a real Aba boy....😂
Thank you so much sir. We ibos don't have problem with other tribes. We just want to make money and enjoy life. God bless you sir for speaking the truth ❤
You perfectly summed up that Igbo saying, that *_’nwanne di na mba.’_* Which loosely translates to _‘you can find a brother in a foreign land’_ *or* _‘there’s a brother in a foreign land.’_ And may I say, you gave your children wonderful Igbo names 🫶🏾
God bless you Dr Apoki. I remember meeting you for the first time when you came to minister in our conference at Aba, in 1998. It was NCCMDS Conference and your session was wonderful. Please remain on fire for God.
Wooow !!!! I am very shocked to know that the Doctor Apoki I once heard in Abia state is the one I hv been following, and evn my inlaw n senior colleague having a son bearing my name Chima n I am from the UMUHU EZECHI wow this is wonderful, there is no better way to describe an average Igboman thank u sir am gonna text you sir.
Yes we are welcoming,my Dad told us,if we hv visitor and meat is not enough for the house. We should serve the visitor the meat. That its better he doesn't get than visitor not getting.Even the mother will rather not eat and give visitors food.So I do the same now.And I feel happy not eating and my visitors eat.At times I will drink garry nobody will know.
Truth, this is the same thing I observed in Igbo land ever since I was growing to this day. Igbos don't oppress stranger rather they won't allow you to oppress them. It is always live and let live.
DR you're exceptionally correct in your narrations and experience . My people will rather side with a stranger among them than to support his own brother , this happened in my own small village in Anambra State when a case arose between a resident stranger and one of our indigenes . Our people came heavily against their own man with the excuse that he supposed to know the man is a stranger with needs of assistance . It's good to move around and inter-relate to understand others as well .
Thank You, Dr. for this insightful presentation. Watching this brings me a mixed feeling of nostalgia and tears. An Igbo man is NOT afraid of competition. In fact, they thrive better in competition, given a fair playing ground. The Igbo man is not afraid to go to any part of the world in search of prospects. Guess what? They even identify hidden treasures in any place to the amazement of the hosts. The people called Nigerians know this, deep down their spirit. But for the fear of been perceived as sellout, they connive with the political class whose interest are selfish to destroy this blessed country. Until the average Nigerian begins to see the prospects and capabilities of the Igbo man to redeem this country from its economic woes, we will keep lying to our selves and wallowing in penury and financial darkness.
I served in Ilesha as an Igbo person, I was treated well by my landlady who accommodated me at zero cost, auntie Ronke was the best, she took me as her younger sister. God bless her
I am from Akwa Ibom but have an Igbo spirit - a certain arrogance backed by faith, belief and hardwork
Lol 😅 no difference between them apart from the language
Bro! The truth is that we love you guys too wholeheartedly
No doubt your daughter married an Igbo man I am a Ghanaian and love my Igbo people especially their language.

Igbo wife God bless you
I just had goosebumps reading this. My people truly love and cherish strangers amongst them. It seems imbedded in our DNA.
Respect Dr Chares Apoki. A traveller is always wiser than most of his elders they say. ❤
I am from the north and I live in the north. My boss is an igbo man whose business I manage in the north. I have not seen anyone as kind-hearted as him. You are an igbo man at heart because of your appreciation of our people and culture that are profoundly detested by our fellow Nigerians.
You said it all. Igbos are very good people, and that is the foundation of their progress all over the world. Welcome them, you welcome progress in your society. Hate and reject them, your society will be curse. That is what people are witnessing in Nigeria today.

SORRY DEAR, WE MUST LEAVE NIGERIA. WE'VE CROSSED THE RUBICON.
It's true. I remember living in Abia State from America and they defended me when someone offended me because I was a stranger.
One Hausa guy that came to do a building work in my village from Kano stayed back after his work and married one of our sisters from a neigboring community. Thank you sir. The only Nigerian to say something good about Igbos.
So nice of you
That's not true. They are people from other tribes who also speak well of Ibos😊
I think some other tribes also say well of Igbos
Migweoooo Sir, May God answer ALL your prayers 🙏. Amen.

Dr Charles Apoki you are truly our brother through and through! Your witness is 💯% accurate, although you are far too gracious because there are also troublemakers, but you neatly summed up how we deal with them. Mazi ndeewo O! Birikwa!
Very inspiring Dr. Apoki! I wish our people see the strength in our diversity so we can truly have a united and enterprising country. The politicians are the worst people we have in this country...not all of them but a good number of them.

You’re king sir. I’m Igbo and that’s how we love foreigners among us. I like the way you speak Igbo

My fellow Corpers and myself were loved and protected by the Igbirra people in whose land we lived while teaching at Federal College of Education, Okene. Very correct 💯
You said it all, doctor. And thanks for the reminiscence.
The Igbos look after strangers better than their own, provided you are not of a questionable character.
The women would bring you foodstuff, and, if you served in a place that had palm wine tappers, you would also get free fresh palm wine.
So good to hear of your positive experience in our home land of which you truly belong. God bless you Sir.

This man is 100% correct. I grew up in Igboland and they protect visitors. Two Yoruba boys in my secondary were never ever were called “Yoruba”. They spoke Igbo but have Yoruba names. That's correct. You know Igbos for real.
You are honest and at same time funny! You made laugh 😂 here at work
God bless you Sir,it's true, we Igbos protect strangers more than our people
Yeah we don't treat stranger bad cuz we always ve in mind that we ve our people littered outside our land, Dr thanks for saying the reality about ndigbo
You're very correct sir, I married an Igbo Lady the day I went for introduction I realized there has been a great misconception about them. That's why my children bears Igbo name

God bless you, sir. You are really a truthful man.
This is purely truth about the Igbo man,sir God bless you.
Dr Apoki, your experience is correct that's our character I'm an Igbo man
My special inlaw, kedu? Oh my God! I love your two videos that I just watched. God bless you for telling The Truth! ❤❤
Pure truth sir, Igbos are accommodating, hardworking, honest....and more. Ndewo!
Dr Charles God bless you sir for saying the truth about Igbo
God bless you, Sir! 🙏
.....maximum respect 🫡 🤲
I've loved watching this Dr Charles Apoki. This is a breath of fresh air. Daalụ ❤❤
Truth, this is the same thing I observed in Igbo land ever since I was growing to this day. Igbos don't oppress stranger rather they won't allow you to oppress them. It is always live and let live.
Mazi, you really captured the Igbos very well.
God bless you sir.
😂😂😂
You are right not only lgbo for South East general that is our constitution.
One Nigeria 🇳🇬 God bless you brother.
Dr Charles Apoki, you make me laugh each time I listen to your funny stories. God bless your clean heart ❤.
Amen.
God bless you bro for saying the truth you saw and experienced!
I love this man, Igbo land was good to you because you're a good person. You accepted the land and the people and it's reciprocal.
Very true.
Bros you are very honest person keep it up
One if a kind.God bless you.
I smiled through listening to this cast. Nice one Doc.
Glad you enjoyed it
This is a wonderful testimony. You really captured it all.
Your story is very inspiring and you are a good story teller 😊
Igbo Amaka❤
