True, it’s all the JK peeps, bought a jeep in 2015 thinking the jeep wave was invented to act superior to others... ok not all JK owners show up on the trail with a decked out Rubicon with 9kw of lights in a turtleneck checking the gps tracking and Instagram every 5 seconds... but sometimes it feels like it... back to my original point tho, don’t take a ride from anyone claiming the antidote is in their pants and if you got 4 wheel just be happy you’re not the only one that does 🤙🏼

It's funny that you mentioned Big Tire Garage because I grew up watching Ian build 4x4s on TV and always looked up to him as a fabricator and presenter. However, when it comes to RUclips content, you're frankly blowing him out of the water. Your shots, editing, and storytelling are really top notch and I've loved watching the channel grow and change. Having never owned a 4x4 before, I bought an 80-series Land Cruiser last year and am super excited to get it out onto more trails. And on makes and models, variety is for sure the spice of life. Keep doing what you do!!

I will say the Jeep community is an inviting and helpful one, that said they can be a proud bunch too thinking anything other than Jeep is lacking. My thought is whatever gets you outside enjoying nature is awesome, stock, mildly built to tube chassis, whatever turns your crank is fine by me. I’ll wheel with you and help fix whatever is broken, we enjoy off road sports, that should be enough to bring us together whatever you’re driving. I don’t care what you’re building it for, just build it! Great job Nate, try not to let it bother you and keep the sparks flying!

You can remove the carrying handles off the Smittybilt compressors and mount standard hardware to the air output. Makes the system more compact for custom jobs like this, giving you more options, including using ARB air kits, with quick connects. Good stuff! Always learning from this channel.

  • @LeadHander

I like how this air system is going. One minor correction to your design, you will need a 100 psi pressure regulator, not a pressure relief valve for your lockers, if you want to have 120 psi in your tank. Keep up the good work. Jeep, Land Cruiser, Toyota, it doesn't matter, it's the build that matters.

  • @karlbrown3214

I won't lie, I am a Jeep guy. With that being said when I was in the military down in Honduras we used a Toyota pickup truck. It had military tires on it and handled the trails great. The Dodge pickup and 2 1/2 ton trucks were just too big for the trails. They couldn't handle the turns as well either. That thing was a beast and a lot of fun on the trails, I even enjoyed it more than the Jeep we had down there. Good luck and have fun with your build.

I just chuckled at how back & forth the comments were on the last video, but difference of opinion is what make the world go around, & how boring would it be with out it.... But realty guys this is a wheeling channel, look at the land rover, how AWESOME did that turn out ?
Jeep, Toyota, Ford, hell even dodge could be used as a platform for a off-road rig.
I guarantee there is not a rig running the overland trails, or the trails Nate goes on that is NOT in some stage of upgrade or modification. Folks they are all platforms to your brand of fun....I love the difference of opinion.... Build it brace it, get out there & have fun, go home & make it better...Hell of a channel Nate...👍👍

Whoever is bashing your Toyota plans has no idea what it is like to bomb the Baja desert and make those bypass shocks work. Also reliable a/c is a must for Baja

This video was perfectly timed, I am starting to get my plans for the air system in my ZJ roughed out. Excited to see where it goes next.
I am very excited about the Tacoma, not so much because of it being a Toyota, but because it will be a slightly faster build. I love watching you get to trail test your projects and see what you have done tested real world. The Disco has been an awesome project and can’t wait to see it traveling across the US.

I'm a moparian and so are my son's.. but one of my son's has a Toyota project pickup. The thing we all love off-road so doesn't matter the brand it's the passion. Keep the good work😊
About this build and the part about air drying.. it's a bit scetchy to me only because of how far north we live so maybe in the future you could get into this part a bit deeper 😜

Good to see you doing what you love bud!

I built gas powered compressors. I learned to use copper tubing from compressor outlet going to tank because of the heat made. Plus one way check valves going into tank inlet so compressor starts easy. Toyotas are OK, but I'm a Jeep guy, LOL.

Perfect timing with the air build. I have my 92 Hilux down for a bunch of stuff, an air system among those. I'll be pulling a tank from a defunct compressor, and mine is planned for "just" tires, air tools and possibly a pressurised water system.

Have have never been a fan of jeeps but I enjoy content of several "jeep" channels because I care more about what the people are doing with the vehicle than the vehicle itself. Thanks for the great content I look forward to watching this build progress. I'm hoping to get my first 4x4 soon.

In regards to comments from the last video. I follow this channel for the custom fabrication work you do, not because you like Jeeps, Toyotas, or Land Rovers. I'm a machinist by trade and I love DIY projects. Lately I've been on a woodworking binge. Next I'd love to learn how to weld. My dad got a Vulcan (Harbor Freight) Multi-Process welder. My first projects were some steel shooting targets. After watching a video on you making sliders for the LR, that is going to be my next project for my Lexus GX470. Thanks for the awesome videos. One of the best channels I follow.

Not going to lie. I'm a TJ guy. Your TJ build is what brought me to your channel. I have unsubscribed from more than one channel because they switched from Jeep to a Yota. For me, the difference is, most people do bolt on mods. Your knowledge in general, and your fabrication skills will keep me watching your channel for as long as you want to do it. I don't care if you do a Husqvarna lawn tractor/rock crawler build, I'm still going to watch!

Never un-subing from this channel, no matter what you buy to build. I love the creativity that you bring and I love that you make things youre own rather then going out and buying parts to just bolt on. Thats one thing that set you apart from other jeepers is you actually build youre parts rather then buying them.
I'm a Chevy guy but I can appreciate the builds of other vehicles. Im 100% excited for the Toyota build and im excited to see what you do with it.

Those who bash the Toyota because it’s not a jeep are what we call a one trick pony. a true truck enthusiast can appreciate all the differences in vehicle to vehicle. I’m really excited for this build because it is a Toyota but mostly because of nate’s ability’s and creativity. Along with the disco.

Absolute madness that folk leave your information packed channel and fantastic work based on a vehicle brand. Here was me thinking fabrication/ content gave you oportunity to change a vehicle and build it better.
Some folk just don't appreciate the value.
Regardless of vehicle brand I'll stick by your channel. Keep up the great work and thanks for your efforts all the way from Scotland!

I am currently tweaking on a Cherokee and could apply just about everything you publish on my build if I chose to. If I had the time, funds and garage space I would build multiple vehicles, in multiple styles, from multiple manufacturers. I'm especially looking forward to electric powered off road builds gaining a foothold. Variety is the spice of life! Thanks for being so generous with your knowledge Nate!

Fabricating in the mining industry we used 120 wall 2x2 square tubing as manifolds. Built them for the water cooling lines, the oil coolers on the crushers, and the air distribution systems. .120 is more than adequate for your 120 PSI system! Nice job!

Your channel is fabulous. I’m an old stainless steel fabricator that builds very similar to you. My son and I watch your channel for ideas keep building everything you do.
I put together an air system similar to yours. I made a mistake and used 1/4”tubing. After A couple years of use I will be tearing it all apart and changing it to 3/8s. It does make a difference. Especially when you’re feeling up other tires with a longer hose.
Just a quick comment please keep us updated on any small changes you make to things like your tire carrier. My tire carrier is on its fourth generation. I’d like to see the ideas that you come up with once you have it out on the trail and start making changes. Keep up the good work we enjoy it.
