Why are people reaching for the lowest hanging fruit on the tree by pointing at the LeBron thing as to why they aren't bringing him back??? It has NOTHING to do with that. It's because he asked for more than they're willing to give and then acting erratically thereafter. The result of the season has NOTHING to do with it. Shannon is typically a consummate professional but his disdain for Ja won't allow him to be when it comes to him. He takes every opportunity to shoot at Ja.

Dillion Brooks was in Memphis before Ja and JJJ. He was apart of the rebuild and the rebranding. He was a vet on that team that helped young guys. Everybody on the team played trash game 6. Honestly, I am happy we are not signing brooks again. But we also need to get rid of Jenkins as the coach. He did a good job getting the team to this point, but he has shown me he does not have what it takes to coach in the playoffs. They went into that series unprepared. He ran the same plays and rotations all series that didn't work. How are we going to shoot all them threes and nobody can shoot them consistently? Our bench sucked, again. JJJ got punked from game 3 to game 6. But of course blame Ja again. He had one bad game which was game 6, but the entire team sucked. The one person on the team I can't blame is Tillman. He did everything asked of him and extra. I expect them to keep him. But for us to move forward we need to grow as a team and those two guys Brooks and Jenkins are doing just that. Plus the front office needs to do better at acquiring consistent bench and role players

They're right where they want to be its just about getting everything in order. Brooks he was with old management, and its clear as day he ddin't pan out. As funny as it’s been to make fun of Dillon Brooks, and it definitely has been funny, they are 100% trying to use him as the scapegoat. The entire Grizzlies team chirps. In fact, their culture of being unlikable started last season. It wasn’t Dillon Brooks saying that the Grizzlies live rent free in the Warriors head. It also wasn’t Dillion Brooks that exposed on IG that rhey posted the Draymond Green quote in the locker room on them getting their “reality check.” It also wasn’t Dillion Brooks that said that he is “fine in the west!”
Also, last time I checked, Dillon Brooks wasn’t the only one on that team that got blown out by 40 points in an elimination game.
He was just the easy one to cut bait with and throw under the bus as he had the spotlight on him in the last few weeks, however, their entire culture is the problem. So scapegoating one guy is not cool.

Dillion brooks was the only reason I watched the series between the lakers and the grizzlies…This was the drama that was needed for the playoffs. Every playoffs needs that guy who brings in the antics, it’s part of the entertainment of the playoffs. But it seems like people don’t understand that, and he is an asset to the team as a matter of fact, not a liability. The team itself just isn’t ready for playoffs wins. Especially without the big man in the middle. It’s a bit of a stretch trying to fire him. I don’t see anything extra of what he did other than make comments at lebron. If “he’s old” and “I need someone to give me forty” is worthy of someone getting fired in the NBA then the NBA better watch their backs for additional decline in viewership. Cause he didn’t even do anything out of line.

On one hand, I agree with Shannon, it feels like they're using him as a scapegoat but we also have to be fair and remember we only know what we know. There's no telling if they told Brooks to scale it back on multiple occasions, there's no telling if anything else has transpired during the negotiations, if he acted out if he didn't get offered what he felt like he deserved. Would that be hard to believe either? No. So I wouldn't be quick to jump to any conclusions.
