- One month into ownership of our 2010 Rolls-Royce Ghost, we had noticed that the car had a few issues that needed to be addressed. Unfortunately, these are some small things that can happen when you purchase a Rolls-Royce without a Pre-Purchase Inspection; however, luckily this particular 2010 Rolls Royce Ghost has 2 years of Provenance, meaning all maintenance and service is covered fully. Here’s some of what went wrong in our Rolls-Royce Ghost in the first month of ownership.

About this video: During the first 30 days of ownership with our used 2010 Rolls-Royce Ghost, there were a few problems with the car that we needed to sort out. The biggest one - a Level Control Malfunction fault - was by far the most pressing, and this was the reason for the main service on the Rolls Royce Ghost. On top of the Rolls Royce Level Control Malfunction, we also had noticed an issue with a door seal being off, causing wind noise in the cabin of the 2010. Add to there, the first day we were driving the car, we noticed water intrusion in the front passenger footwell that needed to be addressed.
Lastly, there was an issue in our 2010 Rolls-Royce Ghost that was quite new to us. Our Rolls-Royce Umbrella on the passenger side of the vehicle was stuck in the door and not releasing when the button was pressed. This was something that was quite odd, but thankfully Motorcars of Atlanta were able to quickly solve all of these problems on our used Rolls-Royce.
Throughout the entire process, we loved being able to work with Motorcars of Atlanta to service our 2010 used Rolls-Royce Ghost. Their service department was prompt, quick to respond, and made sure that every issue on our used Rolls-Royce was addressed thoroughly. Because of the Rolls-Royce Provenance program, they also handled shipping back and forth from our house to Rolls-Royce Atlanta without any hesitation. It was quite refreshing to have a car under such a solid warranty/service program, and I can confidently say, I will never purchase a used Rolls-Royce without the Provenance Program.
The Rolls-Royce Provenance Program covered every single repair on the vehicle with this repair, which we were more than thrilled with. Sure, you never want you used car to need a major repair within a few months of ownership, but with a 10 year old used Rolls Royce, problems happen. The vehicles are so over-engineered (in the best way possible) that it’s only normal for problems to occur in ownership. After all, this is a 10 year old, 25,000 mile vehicle that was built to be the best available on the market over 10 years ago. Things will go wrong, and thankfully, Provenance covers everything that can come up during ownership.
During our time with our car at the service department of Motorcars of Atlanta, we received updates every few days on what was wrong with our 2010 Rolls-Royce Ghost. Chandler, our service advisor, was fantastic to work with, and we were both thankful to have a service advisor on our Rolls-Royce that addressed every concern from shipping to repairs. Within the first couple of days of our used Rolls Royce being at the dealership in Atlanta, we had a full breakdown of what the car would need and how long the repair would take. The parts needed to be ordered from the factory in Goodwood, and we were told they would be there within 10 days.
After two weeks of our used Rolls-Royce Ghost being away at service at Motorcars of Atlanta Rolls-Royce, we received notice that our used 2010 Rolls Royce Ghost from Goodwood was ready to be shipped back to us. Literally, within less than 24 hours, our Rolls-Royce Ghost was being unloaded from the truck in front of our house over 2 hours away from the dealership. I couldn’t ask for a better Rolls-Royce used ownership experience, and so far, I have literally nothing negative to say about owning a 10 year old used Rolls-Royce. It has been one of the greatest automotive experiences of my life, and I’m thankful to have the car back in the garage.
Thank you for watching this video update on our used Rolls-Royce Ghost from 2010. I hope you all enjoyed this insight into used Rolls-Royce Ghost ownership.

It’s an 11 year old Rolls Royce . Like any old BMW it’s going to have faults, lots of them!
I have a 7 year old Ram 1500 runs like brand new.
BMW is trash after 7 years.
Oh boy your mental is all off here.
That's not entirely true. It all depends on how the car is cared for. The saying is take care of your car it'll take care of you.
Secondly I understand that you may be a little hateful on them having a RR and you don't OR you just haven't done your research. Let's just say both. BMW is the owner, that's it. A Rolls Royce is a RR, that's it. Their car was handbuilt, a BMW isn't. End of story.
@@xxxmachiavelli7726I concur
I’m so glad to have her back in the garage! Crazy how low she got compared to how high she’s sitting now. Also, that intro was INCREDIBLE! 😍
My dads Bentley spends 1-2 month a year in the repair shop and he has to pay $10k a year to have it repaired. He’s finally selling it off.
wow! what model, year?
Bentleys are reliable cars actually. Sorry your dad picked up a bad spec. Do more research before buying, some ppl don't take care of their cars amd sell them off that way!
@@xxxmachiavelli7726is the v8 reliable
Awesome!! Will there be a video of how you guys purchased it? Like the AM video.
Its an incredible purchase, every returning car will have a few skeletons in the closet, I’m really glad The car was returned to perfect working order. Happy motoring.
This problem with the foot well filling up with water was a typical problem in Atlanta in mainly the VW Passats, Jettas, Golfs, and Beetles. I was IT consultant for a dealer so I witnessed it myself. Reason; in April when the pollen is horrendous, it would clog up the drains from the sunroof to each hinge region of the front doors. When that would happen, the water would overflow and ruin the interior. So this tells me Rolls Royce is definitely not worth the money. And no, I cannot afford one!
I have a Jag XK convertible that also had water spill into the passenger footwell. That problem was an old drain with a duckbill end on a tube that stuck closed. A simple fix but a $2,000.00 repair. Crappy design that was known, (recall issued), yet continued for several model years. So ridiculous.
Rolls Royce’s are built for 50k miles. Same with Bentley. My dad owned a Bentley and I can tel from experience. You’ll rarely find a RR or Bentley beyond 50k miles in the used market.
@@abdullahal-shimri3091 How bizarre , my 1977 Silver Shadow runs like a dream with over 100,000 miles on it. I'm 65 , been driving RR and Bentley's since I was 19 , have had lots of them and all models over the years and have never had the issues in the UK that all these American buyers keep having ? ...
How bizarre, you’ve had so many over the years and yet decided to keep the one that’s 45 years old.
@@bigunk2667It has sentimental value because it was the car my dad had before he passed away ...
You need to say "Oh my god" a bit more for me.
Wait, you still have to pay labor on warranty repairs?
How’d u get a warranty on it
If you complain from Rolls Royce maintenance then it’s not for you!
Yeah no. Just because you have money doesn't mean you dont get to complain about bad build quality and reliability
@@DutchManticore - no one says so! … The maintenance meant here is the periodic service and normal wear n tear. That’s relatively expensive in luxury cars like Rolls Royce. And guess why it’s expensive? … simply because they are higher quality than other cars!
How were you able to get a warranty on a 2010. Who did you go through?
pretty sure it's through Rolls
How? It's a Rolls Royce, doesn't matter what age it is.
So you own them 50/50 with each other? But you're not married to each other? How does that work? Do you own a dealership together or something?
Bro said he had a wife I was so confused
Do I read correctly? You purchased a 2010 RR without a pre purchase inspection?
He bought the warranty, so no big deal.
@@carycoller3140 It's still stupid to purchase without a PPI. Many Warranties don't cover everything.
@zarbon700 True, they don't, but obviously he can afford the potential downside.
Correction. They purchased a Rolls Royce without a PPI*
Stop using age to take away from what the car is. It's a Rolls Royce doesnt matter the age. Clearly, whatever issues it may have down the line is their problem, and clearly, they can afford it.
Dubai owns the Merlin Engine Patent on Rolls Royce...Not the Brand of Rolls Royce owned by V.W
All that give me feeling that if i got money one day, its better to buy some Maybach... for sure less problems...
Maybach is another amazing luxury car. RR, Bentley, and Maybach are definitely the top 3
Why not use the ☔☔☔
My wife???????

I personally have never understood the allure of these cars. They’re known buckets. The only real reason people buy these is to stroke their own ego. These cars are for people to drive you, not for you to drive yourself to target.
No say it appropriately. "I don't have one so I will hate on someone who does". Just go get one mate, stop hating. Not everyone gets one to stroke their own ego and I'm sure you know that. Some ppl do buy nice things for the qaulity and there is no other car on earth that matches the qaulity of a Rolls Royce. No Ferrari, No Maybach, No Bentley, No Lexus. Let's be real here if you saw one you'd watch in a daze as it passed you. CUT IT OUT. we ALL would 😂😂😂
You cant use these cars as transportation. They are toys. The worst kia actually has more integrity, but if you are a pro wrench, you will love em!
You can… just expect a lot to go wrong. Most people with a Rolls have a second car.
oh no rich kids not wanting to pay for something again lol
Ooh someone is jealouss👀
Bentley, Rolls Royce, Porche...All V.W
No. Do your research block head. Let me put this in caveman terms for you
BMW is parent company of Rolls Royce = BMW does not BUILD a RR, Rolls Royce builds a Rolls Royce
VW is parent company of Porsche and Lamborghini = VW does not BUILD Porsche, Porsche builds Porsche and Lamborghini builds Lamborghini
2 two don't mix. Hopefully now you don't see a Porsche 911 and think to yourself "That's really just a Jetta"
Understand? Cool
I swear to God that is PRICE from Better call Saul!!!!! Love him...
Would rather get the maybach
Good choice! We actually posted a video recently talking about how the S-Class platform is still the best choice for a daily driver compared to the Ghost.
Not a real ORIGINAL Rolls Royce Motor.
It is a BMW
Said no one ever who knows cars.
Kitcars
Wow!....This is pretty sad if you have to purchase a 15 year old Rolls and then you have to have a co owner in order to afford the car....and then you experience these problems?.......Did You ever stop to think that this is Karma and maybe the universe is trying to tell you to live within your means and stop trying to empress others?....I have 4 and I paid cash for all of them but I would never buy one if I knew it was above my living standards....besides aren't all cars just glorified Taxi Cabs anyway and they all take us wear we need to go?..........I don't think having a co owner was a wise thing to do AT ALL!.....
You're sad 😂😂. Jeez mate, you sound like a bitter old man. Are you upset you don't have a Rolls Royce? Don't worry I am too but no need to hate on those who do.
It's a V.W...Just go into BMW service!
This comment makes no sense. Go back to grade school. V.W and BMW have no correlation. BMW is parent company of RR, they don't don't build them. Put a 7 series next to a RR and you'll learn very fast.
Velli says it all.
😂🤣😅😆
Just admit it, you bought crappy cars, I mean prone to fault cars... is one of the other car a Range Rover!? ;) :)) :)) ah, AND over rated cars... everything is goood otherwise.
@@Vince75DWell said 👏
Jealous. Don't worry, one day you'll get a RR, I believe in you. I'm manifesting it for you.
