This Video has helped me understand Bonds. Thank you very Much. On a lighter note, what happened to the nails on your right hand? Lol.. Thank you for the Video.
Thanks for this information madam, i really enjoy your videos.. Is it true that now boz has declared that coupon rate will now be at approx 14% for yhe rest of the 2024?
@@MukonkiMukonkela .Hi madam, I got it from the internet while searching for date for bonds the third quarter . Morning Mukonkela...I bought a 10 year bond at primary market in 2023 and expected to receive coupon after 6 months, however to my surprise I received a coupon just after 4 months...could there be a mistake..???? Somewhere...!!!
@@MukonkiMukonkela okay thank you, so as long as the money I want to invest is in my bank account I just go ahead and place the bid I want right? Cheers madam
Your money sits with you bank first. When your bid is successful, on settlement date money moves from your bank to BOZ, then BOZ credits your CDS acçount.
Everytime I invest I use the new portal I am charged K250 by Atlas Mara. Is that normal? and is every one experiencing this with their receptive banks?
@@MukonkiMukonkela Following a follow-up I was informed that everytime I use the portal to invest that it is a standard charge. I was actually encouraged by Atlas Mara to invest higher amounts to factor their charge too. I have since decided when I have the chance to close my account with them and pause investing for now till I link another account.
@MukonkiMukonkela , thank you do much for your very informative videos. For a self-employed person, could GRZ bonds be a better alternative to NAPSA contributions? NAPSA say they pay back principle + wage inflation + interest. How could that compare with GRZ payout of principal + coupon interest? Would be interesting if you did a video of such a side-by-side comparison 😊
The minimum investment that can give you a meaningful coupon value should also be considered
Thanks for the video, learnt something new. Looking forward to seeing more contents
i always enjoy your videos but according to our economy the interest rate will never go down coz in previous rate i have never seen in dropping
It's always lovely to learn something new from you. Thank you

So a long term investment should perhaps be 2 or 5 years ? Unless a person with a 10 year bond wants to just enjoy the six month payments
What's your current rate on the bonds and on the Treasury Bills?
the coupon rate is dependent on the auction conducted by boz
@@MukonkiMukonkela the latest auction?

In four months lucky you! But I think there's an error that will be corrected. Otherwise it's supposed to be 6 months.
You bought a reissued benchmark 10 year bond. Recheck the prospectus for the invitation. It will read reissue and give you the coupon payment dates

Hi Mukonki, I'm back again 😅...how do I transfer money to my CSD account?
You don't need to. Your bank account is linked to your csd account. Boz will deduct from the bank account you given them

So madam which one is better between the old/new method of buying bonds or they are slightly the same
It's debatable. Many think the old since it had an interest income in addition to coupons
And what’s the advantage of the new system?
Please help me with actual circulation .... Say I needed to buy a " K5000 for 2yrs."
Tbills or bond? Maybe I can assist

This is unusual. There's no charge for using the investor portal. Please find out why atlas mara is charging you, it maybe for something else.

Our Treasury Bills are sold at a discount.
Hi, GRZ are also issued at par value, T-bills at a discount as you've rightly stated
