We've heard many a story of Cordillo Downs Road, even before we arrived in the area. The most common question asked at the Innamincka Trading Post is... "what's the Cordillo Road like?
Well we tackled it for ourselves. We had no expectations of conditions as it's so much dependent on one's idea of what is rough and what isn't. All I tell people is that we drove it in dry conditions, let the tyres down about 10-12psi and travelled at a speed between 60-80kms hour on average.
It's not that bad, and the scenery is just spectacular especially when your not used to seeing the vast open lands and big sky. A couple of points of interest along the way... the historic woolshed and the Cadelga Outstation ruins. Both points of interest did not disappoint. Thanks for watching, enjoy!

You are so right about your speed when I’m out in that country 60km per hour is fast enough, best of all you can save on fuel and you still get there safely,it will take a bit longer. your on holidays,I have an old saying slow down I want to get there early today .
It sure is mate. We barely punch along any faster than 60-80. If you hit a washout or hole and damage something you'll be sorry.
