    Great review Matt - I wish this was around a while ago as you would have saved me loads of research.
    I decided on the Wallbox Pulsar Plus and its excellent - exactly as you describe.
    The other big selling point is that it doesn't need an earth rod which is a big plus.

      Thanks. Many of the newer chargers have built in earthing protection now. Makes installation so much easier.

    I've just ordered one of these and after seeing your well presented vid can see I've got quite a good unit - Mine had to be wifi as the others on offer from my supplier needed mobile signals and we don't get great signal here, but wifi is excellent. Thanks for showing me around it!

    Great video thanks. I’ve ordered one today ahead of my EV delivery in a few months. It’s going outside my garage and whilst on a private drive with a camera above, I wondering about the ease with which someone could in theory, ‘steal’ my electric! You say it can be locked but would you need to do that manually, whenever you go out / away? Presume you then have to unlock it or is there a way for it to auto lock / unlock when it senses your phone / car in proximity? I’d love to be able to just plug and go (and unplug and go!) but don’t want to leave a free charger for someone to freeload from!

    • @GoGreenAutos
      @GoGreenAutos  2 года назад +2

      Its something people worry about, but in reality it doesn't happen. I've not yet heard of anyone having their electricity stolen like this. Is someone really going to risk being parked up outside your house, on private land for hours?? Risking it for £1 per hour of electricity. It wont happen. But if you do want to lock it, you can with the app, but it is manually only.

    It's not a charger it's an EVSE, some call it charger but the charger it's on the car, an EVSE to me it's a fancy and expansive socket with contactor and a GFCI/RCD, also it's amazing how much power you can get in uk, in italy we get by default 15A @220V and any upgrade cost a lot of money, just to change the rating (it's only a software thing) plus a fixed ammount * kw

  • @kmclellan7149

    Do you know how the timer function works? With the Renault Zoe, I gather that if you want the charger to manage the schedule, rather than the car, then the charger needs to communicate with the car and keep telling it not to go to sleep. In other words, the car won't start charging if the supply simply switches on. The car needs to be awake/aware first.

    • @GoGreenAutos
      @GoGreenAutos  3 года назад +1

      Yes, that is a problem with all older EVs. I've been meaning to do some tests. I've got an old iOn I can try this with and will report back.

    Good review I think I will go for this in my underground car park and will save me having to extend the WiFi. Can you set it to only charge at a set time in evening on the Bluetooth and it saves it going forwards or you would have to connect via Bluetooth and set it every time you plug it in to charge?

    • @GoGreenAutos
      @GoGreenAutos  3 года назад +3

      Yes once you set a schedule, that schedule is in place all the time until you override or delete it.

    Good video thanks. Can we see in the app, without an internet connection, the energy consumption in kw? Does Pulsar plus allow internet connection via wifi? Or is this facility something we have to buy extra? Are consumption statistics on the pulsar plus or on the Wallbox cloud? Thanks

    • @GoGreenAutos
      @GoGreenAutos  3 года назад

      I'm pretty sure you don't see any energy consumption figures until the Pulsar Plus is connected to the WiFi. Then you see the figures in the app & cloud account.
      WiFi is standard, so no extra hardware.

      I can't give such advice. You'll need to consult an electrician. Here in the UK, most solar users go with the excellent Zappi charger (myenergi.com/product/zappi/) as this integrates with solar so well.

    • @GoGreenAutos
      @GoGreenAutos  2 года назад

      No. I don't know any that will do this. Its not something people would normally want. However, you can schedule a start and stop time, so you can achieve what you want via this...if set to 32 amp, then you'll add 7.36kW in an hour. So set the time based on this. (the maths is Watts = volts x amps).

      @@GoGreenAutos Thanks. I want to install chargers at Holiday let properties and want to include 100kwh as part of package. Guests will plug in anytime and take upto 100kw over the week. (no smart cards, pre payment cards or downloading app, just plug in.) If they need more they would have to pay for more. I desire a system/app that i can set up and forget. Time based solution will work but not best solution. 2 hours charging window a day would not be practical for guests. I want my chargers to be a bit like mobile phone data and stop working after data limit or kw limit in this case.

    • @GoGreenAutos

      You can buy these charges online or go to wallbox.com. Then you'll need to get an electrician to swap them over. That's a very quick and easy job as the supply cable is already there.

    Hi go green autos, The Wall box Pulsar is basically plug and play.Is there a chance of the car charger overriding the box and deciding how much charging your car needs.

    • @GoGreenAutos
      @GoGreenAutos  2 года назад +1

      That's the advantage of the Pulsar Plus - it works like a dumb charger unless you go into the app and changing anything. So if it is left in default (ie. 32A max charging and no schedules), the car's scheduler and charge rate (if used) will be king. The same applies to all chargers though.

      @@GoGreenAutos Thanks for that.Another question where can you purchase an Universal adaptor to charge say an ID 3 at a Tesla Charging point.

    • @GoGreenAutos
      @GoGreenAutos  2 года назад

      @@dermotporter5280 You don't need an adaptor. Tesla destination (AC) chargers are type 2 anyway. Tesla Superchargers (DC) are not available to other vehicles. They can only be used by Teslas. One day they will be opened up to all brands, but only the CCS chargers, so 100% compatible with your ID3.

  • @MichaelMaj5

    Is it possible to adjust the charging current?

    • @GoGreenAutos
      @GoGreenAutos  3 года назад

      No, not via the app. Only via a rotary switch on the circuit board on installation (from memory). You can see inside here ruclips.net/video/qlBS8BlWXWo/видео.html . However, the actual charger is built into the vehicle and dictates the charging rate. The Wallbox is really just a 240V socket. So even though it is 7.4kW, if the car has a 3kW charger on board, it will only pull 3kW.
