  • First of all apologies for the poor sound quality of this video. The sound is bad. I had the very tightest of windows to get this video filmed. And sadly during that time everyone was in their gardens mowing and trimming!
    Peters garden is testament to him and the work that he has put in over the years. Very well supported and trained climbing roses. Established roses and an established garden.
    Thank you Peter for allowing me a visit and opportunity to film.
    The finest rose Rural England and Madame Alfred Carriere that I have seen.

      Hi Marilyn. Yes I forgot to shout out to Peter beales. I actually forgot it was them who bred it. This rose variety twice now it’s been a show stopper. The two occasions I’ve seen this rose as mature examples both times fantastic. A lovely fragrance and packed full of buds.

    Hi guys, Nasturtiums are also edible. They have a peppery, spicy flavor. I grow them year to year after harvesting their seeds. Roses love them because they can also serve as aphid magnets. Aphids go to the Nasturtium and not the roses. Just a fun fact 🥰 Really pretty garden. Thanks for bringing me along

  • @vintagelady1

    Sound is NOT very bad, & I much appreciate the titles for the rose names---it is often a bit difficult for me to catch those when it's maybe a rose we don't have here in the states & there's an unfamiliar accent. (I'm SURE it's not that I'm getting a bit old!) It was lovely to see all those climbers in their glory. I do hope I'll be around in 10 years to see some of mine get that old & glorious! I'll take a look at his channel b/c what I really want to see is how he prunes those masses! Thnaks to both of you gentlemen for the tour!

    • @Jay_Jay
      @Jay_Jay  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi vintage. Yes when editing I realised how rushed this video was. Like I said I was up against a tight window time wise. Long story short I had to catch a tide because my brother was sailing. And it just happened every neighbour decided to cut grass when I was there! Peters pruning and training is second to none. That I’ve seen anyway. Hopefully he will show you more info on his channel without the noise or rush! :)

Then ring Peter at eastcroft and speak to him nicely see what he can do;) royal Parfuma or jubilee papa Meilland for a deep red ?

      He does feed them I will let him update you on that. Regarding dead heading, when you have roses with this many flowers it’s very challenging to actually dead head. Some of them stems had 20 30,40,50 buds on. The one or two roses I have like this I just cut back once they’ve all gone over.x
