Each time vaas shows up he takes every scene he is in. Honestly I wish he was the final villian of the game he was way too interesting and tragic to be removed this early.
Ubisoft has been trying for years to chase this dragon that is far cry 3. Just getting bigger and bigger stars to play the villain role. No offense to any of the actors who starred as villains but none of them will ever be a Vaas Montenegro. The amount of fun and dedication Michael Mondo brought has still been unmatched. I also forgot to mention the brilliant writing on display for this game.
They didn’t change his design they created the character from the ground up for him, replacing the boss they had planned with Michael’s audition for one of the characters ( can’t remember if it was the original big bad or the Player character )
Vaas is honestly one of the most interesting villans I’ve seen in a video game. The way he speaks to people and talk to his victims is honestly something that hooks me. Everything he does you can break down and each fact about him is more interesting then the other. Ubisoft makes a lot of mistakes but one thing about them is that they know how to do Vaas justice each time
Vaas is in my opinion easily in the top 10 video game villains of all time. He's so well acted, charismatic, entertainingly evil, *frighteningly* deranged and evil, and just overall very compelling. He is just amazing and really helps make Far Cry 3 as memorable of a game as it is.
That may have been your best "Hello everyone" moment yet! Also, amazing concept for an episode to look at this game and its connected stories with Vaas
I would love, love, LOVE to see a collective AE for Far Cry 4. Not only was Pagan Min an excellent antagonist in his own right, but the way game paints Kyrat itself as the true antagonist is second to none. The conditions it places on every character puts everyone from Ajay, to Pagan, to even his deceased mother Ishwari somewhere on the monster scale. From the twist at the ending, to the gradual decay of Sabal and Amita, to De Plure running a torture operation while lovingly talking to his daughter on the phone. Truly an excellent game to show the subjectivity of evil, the lengths humans can go to rationalize their situations, and how one person's violent terrorist is another's noble freedom fighter.
Same. I really like FC3 but FC4’s villains are excellent and way more interesting. Vaas is great but most of the other FC3 villains fell flat for me, whereas FC4’s villains are really consistent. Other than Pagan, I love Yuma and Noore and would really like to see a breakdown of them.
Vas -Vaas : “Did I ever tell you what the definition of insanity is?” Vas is my favourite FPS title villain. I wish he was in the story longer. However, Vas being the main villain wouldn’t fit his role as a sociopathic puppet. Vas was really just a high ranking enforcer. I really enjoyed your breakdown of a sociopath vs a psychopath. Throughout my life, I am certain I have encountered both sociopaths and psychopaths. I think one of my university professors was a psychopath, as she enjoyed emotionally manipulating students and using her position of power to intimidate people, despite her lack of stature. Conversely, one of my ex-roommates who was a narcissist, seemed to become mentally unstable whenever he didn’t get his way. He would try to manipulate and intimidate people to get what he wanted. But unfortunately for him , he didn’t have the stature [being 5’4” and 225 pounds] nor the intelligence to be successful at using the previously mentioned methods to get what he wanted. However, he could easily manipulate his parents into getting what he wanted due to his spoiled upbringing. Excellent villain analysis as always. Villain Profile Suggestions: 1. Frank Underwood/Francis Urquart (House of Cards) 2. 001 Squid Game) 3. Petyr Baelish (A Song of Ice and Fire) 4. Frank Gallagher (Shameless US 5. Marty and Wendy Byrde (Ozark) 6. The Sons of Anarchy Gang
Wendy Byrde would be a good one since she's responsible for everything that happens in the show after like season 2 since the family had a way out but Wendy made them stay because she wanted them to become a rich and powerful family.
Can we appreciate Michael Mando performance as Vaas who is a completely different character than Nacho Varga from Better Call Saul? His performance as Vaas was unforgettable very memorable.
