    Please sell this drop in JCM800 PCB with a bag of all of the parts and pots needed to populate the board!

      It comes with a BoM with all the part numbers, much cheaper for you to order in the parts yourself. Sorry but we don’t have time to hand pick parts one by one and pop them in a bag…

      I bought one and was thinking the same thing. I dont even really care how much more it would cost. Knowing it is all there ready to be soldered in is worth alot. Id be fine paying 50/75 $ over the parts cost just for the convenience. If i wanted to save money id just desolder the parts from my board and follow the tutorial.

      @@HeadfirstAmpscome out with something awesome like this, give a detailed parts list on what to order, instructions on how to do it all, and people still have something to complain about! Part of the ordering the parts and all of that is to learn more about the caps, resistors, pots, etc and what the values and watts are etc…people will never be happy!

    Excellent work and fantastic idea. I will again suggest a "highly detailed" how to solder video. A video showing ALL the proper gear, how to avoid overheating joints and how to avoid cold joints. A video showing that you CANNOT use a solder pencil, you must use a proper regulated solder station with an excellent thermostat. What type of solder to use and what to avoid. How to use a vacuum solder removal tool and how to use wick to remove solder. Just my suggestion. Every amp builder thinks that "everyone has an ability to solder" and "soldering is not that hard." I think it is time for pedal companies and DIY amp companies to be honest and admit that soldering is a distinct skill set. Please do a detailed video. Thanks-----Ben

    • @Scott__C
      @Scott__C 2 месяца назад +1

      Yes, I know how to solder, but soldering a cable and soldering a tiny spot on a PCB with traces are two different things.

    • @benburnett8109
      @benburnett8109 2 месяца назад

      @@Scott__C My point exactly. I "learned" (term used loosely) to solder after buying over 20 pickups from TNTones. Having 11 guitars.......it was no big deal if I overheated a pot. I can't imagine overheating pots on my prized Amp. I was a nervous wreck when I first started. Take a 120+ pickup; a 20+ tone pot and a 20+ vol pot and you are talking some dollars. Let alone, your prized Amp. Hopefully the guy in the video decides to do an in depth video on solder(ing) I think it behooves him to do so; as a way to minimize "faulty claims and diy hack jobs."

    I am surprised more pros like you and Alex don't do this more often. The power and capability of modern FREE circuit design tools (schematic, components, PCB board design, validation) makes that part straightforward for those with core design expertise. But now every firm making PCBs accepts Gerber formatted PCB design files and can produce boards for $5 to $10 a piece. With that kind of pricing and 1 week turnaround, it is economical to prototype your own design thru a few iterations, then after nailing down the design you can order a few extras for spares. And you can save the CAD design and Gerber export and use that to get a board made 20 years from now.

      Of course u can do that but this is for the person that likes to tinker and mod stuff. Plus it sounds amazing and where u going to get an amp with tones like this if u grab one used for like $500? I just bought an Origin 50 that’s 3 months old for $200 usd and a cheap pedal for it. Then the board and parts will be around $250 so that’s less than $500 for an awesome sounding 50w amp. Plus u can say and know u did it yourself and makes it much more special
