I recognize that there are insane cyclists, but people should recognize that there are asshole drivers who have it out for cyclists. Not to mention Canada's bike infrastructure is complete garbage. Our country has a fetish for designing everything around cars, with everything being at minimum a 20 minute walk (with the exception of Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal).
Nobody thinks there isn't asshole drivers. Not a single person whose ever had to spend any length of time on a road using any style of vehicle. Also, add Ladysmith and Victoria to that list.

Even just a normal walk near any remotely busy road is an 80% chance that a distracted driver almost hits me. The mentality is wild for car heads
Agreed, most of his issues would be solved if we had proper bike lanes instead of glorified shoulders. I couldn't take a kid biking to the book store in my suburban neighbourhood because it's so dangerous. There are huge parking lots between the road and the store fronts. I feel like such an ass biking on the sidewalk but there's no better option. The drivers are right to be annoyed, but what they don't always realize is that the object of their frustration should be the city planning and not the bikers themselves.
That still doesn't excuse straight up RUNNING a stop sign at a 4 way intersection or blowing through a red light. I am SO sick of that shit, and I never see cops with bicyclists pulled over. That needs to change.
@@RT-qd8yl though this may be frustrating & seem unsafe from the perspective of a motorist, it is actually safer for everyone when cyclists treat stop signs as yield signs and stop lights as stop signs (see: Idaho and increasingly other states in the U.S.). the data support this, there is a big decrease in cyclist injuries when these laws are implemented. it is still illegal in most places but imo the cops probably have better ways to spend their time than unnecessarily enforcing rules made for cars on cyclists when the cyclists are actually behaving safer but i will agree that anyone who unsafely runs stop signs/red lights & cuts others off is an ass, cyclists certainly included.

The number of cyclists that just run red lights for no reason is insane. I've seen so many mothers with prams that have to quickly stop crossing because a bike wants to blast past because they use their legs, unlike those children sitting down and being self-entitled.
You do realize that cars kill tons of kids everyday right? This sanctimonious “that happened” garbage is so obnoxious. Try riding a bike on actively hostile roads and see how it feels. It’s not fun.
You think bikes are unpredictable try going straight when you have the right of way on a bike and an oncoming car wants to take a left when a light turns green. 4/5 times they will cut you off
I'm not against bikes but it's true that since bikes are not as dangerous as cars then bikers don't apply themselves as much as drivers and they can get away with so much more. It's like with people owning small dogs. Their dog cant really seriously hurt anyone so owners often apply zero discipline and see now problem when their pet is going absolutly crazy but then they get mad at me when my wolfdog barks back at them once or twice while their dog is in a middle of a killing frenzy
I love NL rants. Usually they entail the same opinion I have about how fucking shitty people in public are. Like people who are too stupid to use their signal lights and drive 20 m/ph faster than they're allowed to.
