I know people have their personal preferences on truck manufacturers (Ford, Ram and Chevrolet) and that’s fine, is it important to checkout the numbers on weights? Yes, very much so. Personally, I have found that the Chevrolet Silverado LT Alaskan Edition has been overlooked by many people, some say that it is nothing more than a “plow” truck. I tend to disagree on that. Why, because you can many options added on it, making it more of a blend of different types of trucks into one. Plus, saving money too. My 3500HD SRW 6.6L gas and has a front axle rating of 5600 lbs. In regard to plows, V’s, Straight and Expandable’s, they have their own pros and cons, deep snow, I would lean towards a V. Straight, just starting out. If your truck can handle an Expandable, go for it. Because it will give you the smallest size for doing narrow drives, just like a straight blade and the versatility for clearing larger areas. As far as different companies go, I tried my best to research this one, after careful consideration and my physical capabilities, I found that Fisher was the best option for me.

Love my wideout
Good plow for my situation
I run a Wideout and Western 7.5 Pro. I looked at the Boss EXT before the wideout and it was not even close, bad design. Love my wideout, way faster than a v-plow. I haven’t run into a drift I couldn’t handle but ideally I would have a v-plow and a wideout.
I don’t get slot of 2 ft snow storms but I have had no issue with any plow I’ve owned
Fisher xls 8-11 on my f-550, expandable plow will beat a V plow hands-down in parking lots
