I watched the game today,I was at the gym.I didn't know any of the USA Athletes. I loved their game.Insane on ball pressure, full court extreme reactions and great hands on the ball. Their defense forced turnovers and easy points. There are three example USA team is playing modern basketball and they are far better than the other teams is: 1 In every transition they have 5 players running and they always creating 4 on 2 and 3on1 situations(much faster and more trained to run) 2nd the best play I watched was one time the Lithuanians set a flair screen and 2 USA players forget to switch so they both run to the shooter. The Lithuanian player passed the ball to the popper and Cunningham did an insane show and go move in order to force the popper to pass the ball so they did rotate in time after that. Insane team coordinaton and helping. 3rd thing is that they scored like 5 threes but they scored 101 points ...That says a lot.. Do people realize that this isn’t even the best players in the US under 19? So many of them are not playing because they’re preparing to head to college.
For sure, but it doesn't happen every year. Before 2 years USA team had Jayson Tatum,Jalen Brunson, Harry Giles,Terrance Ferguson,Caleb Swanigan,Chinanu Onuaku, Alonzo Trier,Josh Jackson etc. 8 NBA players and I don't even remember the last four lol😂. A friend of mine is actually a basketball scout here in the Philippines. That opinion of yours is actually wrong. These gilas players are literally the most talented players that we have. If you’ve actually watched them play in real life then you’d know that they are way better than those unprivileged players.
This USA team is very beatable. They don’t have an actual offense. Just relying on superior athletes to create. Must be annoying to be an opposing coach.
More like superior talent. But yeah not a fan of how we are playing on offense right now. But then again if teams can't handle our defense then that's on them. We'll lose if we run into a team that can score efficiently on us and slow the pace down. Not sure there is one in this tournament though.
PrinceAL VC I know I’d come up with something that looks like an offense. Right now they’re just relying on pressure defense and running it up the court as fast as possible.
