Yes, keep at it. I promise I'm going to connect all of this for you over time and it makes playing so fun. Will you let me know if this kind of low key lesson was okay. I just setup and did it really fast. Thank so much.

@@mrelmoresmusiclabyes, I love this kind of lesson. One thing that is missing for me is the charts for the scales you were showing us, but that's my fault for not learning those already and I can find them in your other videos.
But, on that note (pun intended), I think I just had one of those connect the dots moment as I was learning the blues scale.
Maybe you could explain it better than anybody else has before. I've always l been confused about the last note before the octave in the minor pentatonic scale. I know the second note in the scale is the flattened third of the Major scale. Then the third and fourth notes in pentatonic are the perfect 4 and 5 of the Major scale. Then the confusing part for me is that the pentatonic skips the 6 of the Major even tho my ear wants to play it. I get that it skips the 2 because it doesn't sound right. But anyways, the part that really boggles my mind is the last note in the pentatonic because it is not in the Major scale at all. It's a flattened 7th note. And that's my question to you? I thought the point of the Minor scale was the flattened third. Why do they flatten the 7th? And what is that called? It's that the dominant note? This theory stuff is so confusing. Anyways, that's why I love your lessons, because you encourage us to just play through all the confusing crap and it just naturally starts making sense even if our brains can't comprehend it. 😂
Sorry for my weird rambling. Hope you have an awesome day. Take care.

Okay, let me read this and then totally break it down and I will get back to you later today. I think this kind of stuff is great because it will really help me figure out some new video ideas I can create to help you. You definitely have lots of information floating around in your head that I know I can connect for you. I want to make it connect in a way that you can use in a playing situation, whether by yourself or with others. Stay tuned.

I love your thinking on all of this, and I know that I love breaking down the theory. I just need to know, however, I would also say don't take in too much or overthink it. The most important part is that you use your ears and let that guide your playing and what you need to convey what you are going for.
On that note...to simplify...always keep everything related in terms of the major and relative minor scale when stripping it down to a pentatonic. Let's think of C and Am. That's best since we have no sharps or flats. Nice and clean.
The Major Pentatonic is taking away the 4 and 7. It is only using the 1,2,3,5, and 6....or....C D E G A C
      The Minor Pentatonic is taking away the 2 and 6. It is only using the 1, b3, 4, 5, and b7...or...A C D E G A
I know it can be confusing, but another way to look at this is to just focus on the different intervals from the root note and how that sounds.
In the end, don't worry if don't get any of this, but try to take away just one tiny piece at a time. And...believe me I am still learning every single day. I find things in my playing that I should have noticed years ago, but I just discovered this. That's what makes music so darn cool.
Keep going and lots more to come. :)
