  • Hey everyone! In this video I’m going to be discussing seasonal work and many components of it that would be useful to someone that is looking to start a seasonal job. I can say I have a good amount of experience doing seasonal work since I have worked five jobs total and one of those I decided to go back for a second season. One of the factors that not a lot of people know about when it comes to seasonal work is that housing is included at a cost. This is actually one of the reasons why I started my seasonal work journey because I did not have enough money to afford putting a down payment on an apartment along with first month and last months rent I knew there had to be another way. I was in a really low spot and found one of my soon to be friends videos on a seasonal Job at the YMCA. Big shout out to Tim Ward who helped guide me to this place and saved my life. Starting seasonal work really did open up so many different opportunities for me and it also showed me that I don’t have to live my life in the way that everyone else wants me to live it I can really live it for myself and do the things that I want to do. If your looking to travel but you think it’s just out of your reach, then watch this video.

Your video is so inspiring! I want to start doing seasonal work but I am nervous; because I think I am older I am 47 and now with my only kid in college I have ample time to live out new experiences. Do you think if it’s late for my age to start thinking in this direction? Thank you!!

First I want to tell you that I understand how you’re feeling because I was feeling the same way before I found my first seasonal job in Colorado. It helped me heal so much and I made so many new friends not to mention the scenery was breathtaking! I just started a new seasonal job by the Grand Canyon and it’s been a great experience so far. I would love to talk to you more because seasonal work has really enriched my life in so many ways and I know it will do the same for you. I can not recommend it enough. My Instagram is spiritual.nomad.life and I’d love to connect so feel free to free to reach out 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 I was just thinking about making a new video talking about my experience here with this new job 🙂🦋🦋🦋 🤙🏼

Hoping to try this seasonal work thing next year, love your video! I do have a dumb question, if you've got a spare minute. I've heard the internet/wifi at most resorts are bad or non-existent. If you don't have internet access, how do you purchase your plane ticket back home? Do you just get it for round trip before you leave home, or just purchase it directly at the airport?
You may have driven yourself there, come to think of it. Not everyone needs to take a plane, but I would have to, so I was a little lost on the "how" of that, haha.

Hey Moonbeamcat! Love the name btw and I’m stoked your interested in doing seasonal work next year 🙂 I was wondering if you had a place in mind that you were thinking of trying out or what state your interested in going. Honestly I’ve never had a problem with wifi or cell service at the places I’ve worked however if your applying somewhere super remote then it will say on the coolworks.com site for each location in the description. Most resorts have to have wifi for their guests so there will be access for you. I never needed a car doing seasonal work and never bought a plane ticket round trip I just bought a one way because say you get there and decided you only wanted to stay for two months instead of 4 then you could just easily get a plane ticket out of there. I like to stay flexible with my travel dates because you just never know. I would just book for one way ticket and make sure where your going has good wifi or cell service which most of them do. If you have any other questions please let me know I’d be happy to help as seasonal work changes my life! I would recommend it to anyone and only wish I knew about it sooner. 🙂🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Hey girl! I have an interview set up for Roche Harbor Resort next week and I’m super excited and nervous about a few things and was wondering if you could tell me more about your experience there! Did you have an in-room roommate? What was the housing like in general? Did you like your job there or recommend a good job that everyone liked there? I also really love driving and being able to have my car but wasn’t sure if that’s do-able there:/
I appreciate anything and everything you could tell me!!💞

    • @spiritualnomadlife

So I actually worked down the road at another resort but my boyfriend worked there and I was at his place nearly everyday. He never had a roommate probably because he came in the winter time when you get your own room after you stay a season their pretty flexible with you so they moved him into his own cabin when the summer people started coming. There are many different housing options I know many that had their own rooms so let them know that’s your preference. Most have showers inside and a few of them don’t but the Rec room is right next door if that’s the case. Def can bring your car I highly recommend it because to get to town(Friday harbor) is about 20 mins away. Although they do have the market place right on site it can get expensive so I always like to go into town to the marketplace for my shopping. Don’t go to kings market they are right on the strip and expensive! I loved it there they have bonfires almost every night, and it was a super fun summer for us. Everyone is really chill and super nice. Oh sorry the jobs there are nice it depends where you are, i wouldn’t recommend housekeeping just because of the experiance my bf had but he ended up going to work at the general store and enjoyed his time there. Our friend worked as a server and he really enjoyed it, our other friend worked in events and enjoyed it as well. All in all I don’t think you can go wrong just maybe stay out of housekeeping. Lemme know if you have any other questions! I’m excited for you, you’re going to love this place it’s a real gem I miss it and we only left a month ago.
