Mike I have said it before but I really appreciate your videos and I think it is amazing how professional looking they are. By that I mean that I realize you have not had formal training but you are a natural. The camera work is top notch and you always have such creative camera angles. The editing is flawless. I have done a little bit of this in the past and I am always so appreciative of how much time it takes to set up and record the events you are doing. It looks so effortless when we see the finished product but I know it is anything but effortless. You have provided me with many hours of pure enjoyment watching what all you do. Eva is on the right track to get that super good content too. Thank you very much.

With the cabin, the Paul Bunion show, and the clearing project, you've slowed on the firewood processing. You've accomplished a lot, though, and nearing completion on both, so you will be able to devote more time to firewood. I honestly think hiring Levi to help was such a good idea. Before long, Miss Eva can pitch in on the weekends and operate the machines while you and Levi do the groundwork. You still have a shed to build for selling wood and eggs down by the road. I think you'll sell lots of bundled wood there and create more clients for cords of wood. You really are much busier now than when you were employed. Very nice video today, thanks.👍🚜❤️🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸

It's funny when I lived in Florida that I could cut down an oak tree, stacked them up and let sit in the sun all summer, then can burn them in the fall. We only burnt firewood if we were cooking on the fire pit and that wasn't many times. My neighbor whose shop where he had chunks delivered and he would split it and sell to people mostly to snow birds in the season. I had so much firewood that went bad i threw in the trash because it was too far gone. The oak trees in Florida would fall off one day and new ones would grow out the next day. They were small leaves and I used a lawn sweeper to pick them up and I put into bags. Sometimes I would have over 60 bags for the trash pickup. Here in Missouri the leaves are 3 times bigger and i mow and mow to break them down to pick up with the sweeper. Right now they are slowly coming down so it will be a while for everything to fall.

Put the smallest woodstove in you can find. I have a small cabin like that (mine is 1000stft with a loft ) It doesn't take much to heat up a small space and the loft will need a ceiling fan to help push that heat back down stairs. Just some tips i learned on my cabin build. Looking great so far.

So cool! -- QUESTION -- Mike, I watched a video by a company called PALAX. Such awesome and fast firewood log cutting machines. Much much faster and better than this manual approach plus your hands are not ever at risk. About $25l to $40k online. Seems reasonable to really bump up production. Not sure you should try to go faster or do more on a manual machine as it is dangerous.

Daddy planted a lot of sugar maples on the property which was an old farmstead in Morgantown. Now I am saying, "Daddy, how could you?" Maples have dense foliage w/ a LOT of leaves. I mulch the first layer. Then I blow them into drifts, load them in my 17 cu.' cart and haul them to the 2 large fields where I spread them out w/ rake and blower. Then mulch them in the field. The fields can absorb more of the leaves than the yard can. The final layer is also mulched in place on the "lawn".

One thing I learned working underground in the coal mines, big equipment usually doesn’t give you a second chance. Once it starts to go it goes, so many coal miners have learned a terrible lesson of taking it for granted that it won’t move. I saw a 75 ton Continuous Miner, (a big track piece of equipment for cutting coal) roll down a slight hill and and mash a 20 ton scoop flat. One of the shields that cover its hydraulic came loose a few weeks ago and broke a guys femur and it only fell 6 inches and tilted over on him.
