- Nachdem die Aussenhaut durch ein Messer beschädigt wurde, musste das Canoe restauriert werden. Dabei wurden auch die Sitze das Joch und der Aussen-Kiel geändert.
Die Haut besteht nun aus schönem, schwarzem Cordura (PA6-Nylon)
After the outer skin has been damaged by a knife, the canoe had to be restored. In this case, the seats were changed, the yoke and the outer keel.The skin is now composed of fine, black Cordura (PA6 nylon)

The design of the canoe itself is excellent for its size as it is meant to carry a good load yet remain fast and stable, The lashings are in such good conditions and the varnishing gives it that rich look . Using this canoe, it is not a case of going to sea, but other emotional prides involving craftsmanship are involved, Congratulations.

Danke für deinen like. Mit coelan steht der Test noch aus. Aber wurde mir schon empfohlen. Und weil das neue Joch 8 cm länger, also das canoe breiter, ist : fährt es sich noch besser...
Jetzt aber! Man sieht den Unterschied! Das Joch sieht gut aus, viel besser als vorher. Cordura sieht echt cool aus. Hast du schon mal Coelan probiert? Es ist teuer aber drei schichten sind genug. Ich gratuliere dir zu deinem Prospector! Fantastisch!

mein Kanu ist 93cm breit, aber sehr rund. Trotz Anfangsschwierigkeiten habe ich gelernt damit umzugehen. Sonntag fahren wir zum Bodensee. Die Saison beginnt für mich. Ich habe euch angesehen, wie ihr im Winter paddelt. Für mich ist es ausgeschlossen, da ich allein paddeln gehe , und kein trocken Anzug habe.
Was wiegt dein großer Kanu?
Wenn ich gewusst hätte hätte ich die Bodenbretter nicht geklebt. Die brauche ich eigentlich nicht. Aber dadurch ist der Kanu etwas Form-stabiler.
Das große Canoe ist ein klassischer Prospector : 4,75m lang und 90cm breit, er wiegt 24kg. Ok ist jetzt nicht so leicht für ein SOF, aber ich wollte es stabil für 350kg Zuladung , ist so geworden. Zum Winterpaddeln : ich hab auch keinen Schwimmanzug , deswegen fahre ich mit dem Canoe ,weil ich nicht ins Wasser will ;-)
Meine Einstellung ist ähnlich. Ich wollte auch touren können deswegen ist mein Kanu auch 93cm breit. Erst zugeladen ist er völlig stabil aber noch sehr gut manövrierbar. Da ich aber allein paddeln gehe, meide ich die Winterzeit.

kann man auch einen anderen Stoff verwenden? Glasfaßer zum Beispiel ist sogar billiger...
welches Harz haben sie verwendet?

Ich verwende Kiefer zum Bau meiner Kanus. Zum bespannen eignet sich Nylon am besten. Glasfaser kann ich mir nicht vorstellen. Man müsste es wahrscheinlich in mehrern Lagen aufbringen und mehrfach mit Harz tränken. Dann würde das Kanu so schwer wie ein Galsfaser-Kanu ....

Von wo haben sie den Stoff? Hatte sie einen link, denn wir finden nur zu kleine Stücke.... Viele braucht man bei einem canoe ihrer Größe an Stoff und Harz?
WÜRDE man auch einen anderen Stoff verwenden können?

seht euch auch die anderen Videos an. das gibts viele infos. der Stoff war vorher Polyester - geht auch. ZIM beschichten nehme ich Colan in 3 Schichten.

Yes I do so. Onto the roof, no problem up to 100km/h....

Thanks for your comment. The ribs in the canoe are inside. In building process the ribs are directly on the station-malls. Then on these the stringers and finally the nylon fabric...
@@bluewondercanoe Thanks I guess one of the camera angles gave me that impression. One other question. I see on your forms you notch them to hold the stringers in place. Is it difficult to remove the form? It seems as if they would be "trapped". Thanks!!
@@tomnorton8218 of course, there are two ways to build a SOF: fix the ribs (I prefer that) or fix the stringers. In case fixing the stringers, the forms are made in two pieces, divisible. After lashing you can remove the forms section by section. Quite easy...
Again thanks for your reply! So another question!! I like the idea of fixing the ribs. I have 3 books on the floor next to my chair on SOF. So my question is it possible to use a "plan" for a wood strip canoe and build a SOF on top of that form?
@@tomnorton8218 exactly! Best plan for SOF. The shape of the hull of a stripper is adapdet and has no surprises in it...

It's a polyurethane resin. One component. In germany it's called: COELAN...
bluewondercanoe thank you very much! It looks quite durable, does it cause the canvas to shrink as well or do you heat shrink off camera?
This is 850den Nylon fabric. Of course I've ironed for shrin8.
bluewondercanoe that's what I thought just noticed in a few it seemed like you sprayed right away I was curious if there was a spray to use that shrink and seal. Thank you for the reply
