  • I've been wanting to make a 360 Photo Booth for a while to take nicer "beauty shots" of my builds. This photo booth is just a prototype, but I'm pretty happy with the direction it's going. Let me know in the comments any ideas for improvement you might think of.
    Thanks for watching!!

    This photo booth was a lot of fun and I have so many ideas on how to improve it. I'm definitely going to continue to work on it.

    I love this idea you have here. I definitely need something like this to help take better pictures of my stuff and do some awesome videos too

      It's actually a lot of fun to use. I have a list of adjustments I want to make though, lol

      @@boydstongrove I think it's great as it is. But I hear you.

    Hi Taylor, Genius, and it looks really good. Oh yeah, American Graffiti still wants their hot rod back 😅Linda

    Very nice, I think I would add some velcro or cloths pin like clamps to the underside of the photo platform so you could cut some different materials for the platform and attach them under neath, that way you can change from wood to velvet or silk or some other material and be able to turn without worrying about it snagging as you turn the platform.

      YES! I was already planning to make different bases and I am totally using that velcro idea.

    The only thing I might do different if/when (most likely when) I build one is to attach the display table from the bottom with pocket screws to have a clean surface on top.

      That's a great idea, that screw does bother me.

    That's cool!!! I might have to make one because I like to shoot a picture for my video's ending, and I am never satisfied with those pictures. This might be one more step to improve my videos. Thanks!

      Awesome, have fun with it! It's a little cumbersome, so I might try and re-design the backdrop to fold up or something.

    Nice idea and well performed. Thanks for sharing the video.
    One thing is not totally clear to me: What is spinning/turning around. The camera stand or the natural wood plateau on which the objects are? Or both?

    • @boydstongrove
      @boydstongrove  Месяц назад

      The two arms holding the camera and backdrop are what spin, rotating around the platform. This makes for a cool effect if you want to get a shot with motion, like setting an object on the platform.

    Not sure if it's a silly question but what's the advantage of moving the camera around the subject when surely just rotating the turntable in the middle would produce the exact same shot?

    • @boydstongrove
      @boydstongrove  Месяц назад +1

      100% agreed. These type of video booths are typically used action scenes, when something is happening on the turntable. For instance; If I wanted a 360 shot of pouring a liquid into a cup I made or a shot of me placing an item down (which I have plans for down the road ). They make big versions so people can stand on them and can move while being filmed in 360 degrees. But for small, static objects, you're absolutely right, a simple motorized turntable would be fine.

      @@boydstongroveI came here to ask this, your reasoning makes perfect sense, as I primarily only make static objects so the thought never occurred to me. Love it. Will definitely make one as I am working on a photo area right now.

    Thats very cool, but why motorize it???

    • @boydstongrove
      @boydstongrove  Месяц назад

      I would want to motorize so that the rotation is smooth and consistent. spinning it by hand makes it hard to keep a steady , consistent speed.
